Hi guys! I was wondering if there is any possibility to downgrade my hboot version in order to downgrade my rom to default one ( t-mobile) for warranty purposes!
At the moment running at 0.80 need 0.75
Thanks in advance!

Why are you posting a pointless procedure in an old thread? The latest T-Mobile RUU will work on 0.80 as it has 0.83

The people in modaco have found out tha the usb brick fix was also useful in helping to downgrage your Hboot version!
It's HERE
Might be useful to anyone who has rooted and accidentally upgraded their hboot and now need to downgrade for warranty return.
Really useful for me to sendback my Desire to HTC !
I'm back to 0.75 from 0.80, thank's for the link
Hi Guys,
Has anyone used the method PB99IMG.zip to downgrade thier bootloader or HBOOT?
I am keen to get back to root on my desire after my accidental OTA upgrade.
Any suggestions or sucess stories?
Thanks in Advance.
I have a branded (UK) Vodafone Desire that I loaded a stock Froyo ROM onto, now I need to get back to the branded Vodafone image (so I can return it for repair)
I have been trying to do this with the correct (Vodafone UK) RUU listed on thread 695667, but I keep getting a ERROR 140 : BOOTLOADER VERSION ERROR.
I'm guessing this was because the HBOOT was 0.93, so I then successfully downgraded to Android 2.1 taking HBOOT back from 0.93 to 0.83 using the details in thread 768256.
My HBOOT is now 0.83 but the RUU still fails - same ERROR 140 : BOOTLOADER VERSION ERROR.
So, is there a way to downgrade my HBOOT to 0.8 again (hoping that the RUU will work correctly with that version) ??
Or is there a way to extract the ROM image from the RUU exe and apply it using another method. ??
Thanks .. Ken
The problem is not HBOOT. Run the downgrade utility again, but -don't- install the downgrade in the bootloader (as described in the post), just select no, and then you can install the Vodafone RUU.
That worked a treat - thanks teppic74 !!
Hi All,
I just wanted to share this info from personal experience. I am using HTC Desire (AMOLED/ASIA Region). I updated OTA Froyo then decided i wanted to root my phone. Rooting requires 0.80 HBOOT so i need to downgrade mine from 0.93 since it got updated also during OTA update. I used teppic's tool (thanks very much for the help as well!) to downgrade my HBOOT from 0.93 to 0.83. Afterwards, i installed signed_RUU for Asia region and now my phone is back to HBOOT 0.80.
This is very helpful especially to those who wanted to bring their phones back to HTC for any repair/warranty concerns.
Hope this can help all my fellow noobs out there as it did to me! Now i think i can try rooting my phone!
thnx for your topic! found via Google and i really helped me!
i need my desire back to stock so i can send him in for reparation. Tried different RUU's but they all failed because the newest bootloader (0.93) this tool worked for me!
It worked for me. Salamat po kababayan
Well it works for me till i downgraded my hboot to 0.83 can u elaborate as to which ruu u installed from the asia region as i tried and it didnt downgrade my hboot
(i need 0.80 as unrevoked doesnt work for me some communication error )
Yes, it's worked perfectly.
Thanks so much (also to teppic74).
Hey there,
I have a big question about hboot downgrade. If I downgrade my hboot from 1.03 to 0.90 I would be able to do the same things as rooted people can. Is this right?
And if I downgrade, would this slow down my mobile? Can I delete system apps and than upgrade back to hboot 1.03?
Thanks,
Matteo
