WM6 HTC s621

Hi.... somebody have the update to WM6 of the HTC 621???
The rom of Dash doesn´t work in my HTC 621, the DASH is htc 620..
My carrier is TELCEL and they will not have the update.
Somebody can help me?
Telcel is not going to release WM6 on the HTC S621, I have a HTC S621 from telcel runing WM6. The only way to flash the ROM is to Cid unlock your excalibur paying, I used http://www.imei-check.co.uk/ and it worked perfect.
After unlocking your excalibur you can flash the Tmobile WM6 rom or wait until HTC releases their unbranded ROM update this month.
Yup, better to wait I think
Same here, HTC 621 bought unlocked from Telcel (thru Sanborns) with WM5. Can't wait to have WM6 installed.
Damn HTC, what are they doing? isn't the unbranded ROM ready yet?
Regards.

*** This is just for checking apps locking status, not CID unlock, what is really needed.
Any motivated for SIM, CID unlocking HTC Excalibur?
I would donate...

OK general, ommit that. Sorry, my fault.
Take this:
Anyone motivated for developing an unlocker for Excalibur, like that one for the Hermes or Wizard? I prefer to donate to this forum than giving bucks for sth. that should be free.
Any interested?
htc s261
I have the same problem with the telcel branded, I have downloaded the russian htc upgrade and no luck.. what I'm fearing is that even the htc update is unbraded telcel has branded somehow the phones and it won't accept the htc official upgrade... anythoughts??
of course. its been posted over and over in this thread. you need to unlock your phone if it wasn't purchased directly from htc.

O2 UK Orbit CID Locked MUST NOT do ROM upgrading!!

Since O2 UK had introduced the Orbit to the UK market, there's non of Official O2 Orbit ROM released.
So, UK Orbit CID Locked owners MUST NOT do the ROM thing.
Ask : Why must not do that??
Ans : If the device is bricked, there's no way to fix it without paying the money to "Unlocked CID Dudes" and I bet you don't want to.
Ask : What do I need Official O2 Orbit for?
Ans : If the device is bricked, it's the only way to bring your device back to life without paying.
Ask : How about I download the Orbit German ROM and install it?
Ans : the Germany ROM will NOT allow the UK Orbit device to do that.
Ask : How about USPL thing before upgrading the ROM?
Ans : You will take a very high risk if you want to
Ask : If I upgrade only the OS?
Ans : Same as above
Ask : What should I do now?
Ans : Wait for the O2 UK to release the Official O2 Orbit ROM and you can take any risk whichever ROM from wherever you want. If it's brick, you can bring it back to life with the bootloader.
Ask : When the O2 UK will release an Official ROM for the Orbit?
Ans : Don't know the right date yet but I'm pretty sure that we have been waiting for that news.
Ask : How about the owners that already brick their device?
Ans : Hehe, they're still waiting for an official ROM also. (including me)
SO!!, why ain't we force them(O2 UK) to release the WM6 soon. or how about we ask them to release at least Original official WM5 out here like O2 Germany does, so we can get it unbrinked.
yep, that's the situation I'm in.
I called o2 a few days ago and they said that WM6 would be available in a few weeks!
They also said it would only be available for a limited time. Strange.
Anyway, I'm stuck using my old Nokia 3330 until o2 release a ROM update!
O2 update
I emailed O2 with this exact question....(When will WM6 be available for download)
They called me a day later saying that they intend to release WM6 for the Orbit at the end of summer (around end of August sometime). That was exactly what they told me.............
I guess it's just a bit more of a waiting game then..........so annoying when version 6 has been around for a while already.....
Bricked Device Solution
Hi guys,
Just thought I'd let you know that I too bricked my Orbit. I took it back to the shop and acted like it just happened by itself ;-) They took it in and I had it repaired free of charge within 10 days. It can't hurt to try.
hehe...
i bricked my orbit, taken it in to shop, no questions asked they re-flashed ROM back to WM5 with no charge or sucking the back of their teeth, saying that it has taken nearly 3 weeks,

i did the WM6 upgrade on my CID locked orbit, and it worked first time without any problems, i think if you follow the instructions carefully you will be ok. not sure if the USPL upgrade method will unbrick a device but it does work, you just need to be brave and very careful.
it was posted a number of times already...
- before upgrading, do uspl to be safe.
- have original rom before upgrade, so you can always come back to original rom if you want;
it is always your choice upgrade it or not. nobody force you.
regards,
Hi,
I did my first ROM upgrade the other day on my CID locked O2 XDA Orbit using the USPL method.
Found it very clear and easy to use and I now have a lovely WM6 version.
Just follow the instructions properly and you should be fine.
Cheers
There is now original O2 Orbit WM5 ROM available so you can return your orbit to how it was..http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=314866

Vodafone warranty

Hi everyone!
I bought a HTC Diamond from Vodafone ES. The current ROM seams to be very different from the original one, being also quite unstable.
I want to upgrade the ROM version to 1.95 but doing so I will loose the warranty.
Is there anyway to backup all the information and if I sometimes I have any problem with the device to restore the original ROM ?

ROM upgrades on HTC site

Hi Folks,
Was looking at the HTC site for some ROM upgrades and found they have 2 that I can potentially use.
http://www.htc.com/uk/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=250&act=sd&cat=all
ROM version: 1.19.61.4 this is specifically for Orange UK users of which I am one, my handset is from orange but unlocked.
The other is the WM 6.5 upgrade.
Do I need the first one or can I just install the 6.5 upgrade?
Also it says I will lose the data on my phone, is this true?
Cheers.

The first is for Orange branded devices and the second is for unbranded devices. Im on Vodafone and the only place i can get windows 6.5 upgrade is from their site as its not yet on Htc's. If you try to download the 6.5 upgrade and type your serial number in when asked for it, it will probably say its not for your device. Have Orange released the update yet? Ask their cs. If you cant wait you always hard spl your phone but it will void its warranty. There is a way to put it back though if you need to use the warranty.
are they both the WM 6.5 upgrade?
Orange are rubbish for updating HTC devices.
What's the real difference of updating to WM 6.5 from 6.1?

OTA Update 1.20.207.3

I just received an update for my Desire over the air. The new version number is 1.20.207.3. Does anybody know what is contained within, or where I can find details on it? HTC.com doesn't seem to have anything.
http://www.smartphonegurus.com/forums/index.php?/topic/10431-o2-go-live-with-htc-desire/
Something to do with this?
Seems to be, thanks for point that our to me ritdaw. Interestingly enough I am not an O2 customer, although this seems to be an unlocked O2 phone. I bought it direct from a shop without a contract, and originally though it was just an HTC Desire, not an O2 HTC Desire.
However, my provider is a mvno who piggy-backs on the O2 network. Maybe this explains how the phone was able to contact the O2 update server?
I bought a sim-free desire and put an o2 simplicity card in it. Not had any update though
edit. wrong thread sorry.

That's cause the update isn't for your unit - it's likely to be an o2 FW update
EDIT: also has the current radio as well...there is a 1.21 WWE ROM out now for generic handsets and is also the base for MoDaCo's ROMs (which I'm using)
