That ROM isn't Bootloader/HBOOT 0.80.
This ROM is HBOOT 0.80:

This ROM isn't for HBOOT 0.80 either, I have goldcard and my Desire only ever lets me unroot to the Virgin RUU Rom.
This one worked for me with HBOOT 0.80
RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_T2_Radio_32.41.00.32U_4.08.00.09_release_137222_signed.exe
Same problem for myself, this is what worked for me on Bootloader 0.80:
1) Using goldcard in the phone.
2) Run this RUU
RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126984_signed.exe
3) Plug phone in when prompted on the RUU.
4) Done...
I spent 3 days trying to get this to work, used countless different RUU which gave me the 130 error, in the end this was the one that worked for me. Hope you have the same success...
Exactly, as GCQ, just 2 days of nightmare. I managed to flash some ROMs, but they kept restarting the device every 10 minutes ) The same happened even after FroYo update without goldcard and not wiped system (I'd say not having the goldcard was the issue)

This does not work with 0.80 HBOOT ! ! !
There is no RUU for the 0.80 Bootloader Version.
Your HBOOT is irrelevant. You can only flash an RUU that has an equal or higher software number. So if you're on 1.21.405.2 you cannot flash 1.19.x.
done it, using this RUU :

[Q] Upgrade HBOOT

Hi there
i have Hboot 0.80 And I want to S-OFF my phone!
alpharevx for HBOOT 1.01
what do i do?
Thanks all
It took me ages but probably because I took the long way round.
I think I formatted my SD card and made as gold card, then used the RUU tool in the Arabic RUU thread below this one.
That worked for me after a day of trial and error. I guess there is a quicker way. Search the forums I know alot of rooting guides have popped up since Alpha-Rev release.

Just go to Unrevoked.com, download their app and S-OFF+ROOT+Recovery install on your phone. HBOOT 0.80 is rootable, because it's the old version. You don't need Alpharev X.

It will not give S-OFF. Just a Custom Recovery and root. If you want S-OFF, you will have to go for AlphaRev X.

try that it works for me...just select the applicable RUU to your region then your S-OFF!!!
I got HBOOT 1.02 after running RUU but when I run alpharevx it still got s-off.
Don't forget to install and uninstall HTC Sync so you won't encounter driver issues.
Then when your already s-off follow the instructions on the link below then that's it you got full control!!!

[Q] Error 140 when flashing RUU file

I am trying to install RUU_Marvel_HTC_Europe_1.30.401.0_Radio_47.10.35.30 29H_7.46.35.08_release_183799_signed.exe and am getting error140 something about wrong bootloader version.
Can anyone help?
My Current version is ARA_1.47.415.1 + HBOOT 0.90.0.0
Try checking this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835777
and let's know if it helps !!!!
I am a little confused. Do need to have s-off to be able to do this? i mean to install the Europe RUU.
Note that my phone is not locked (not branded) but has s-on
just run it but don't continue or anything then find rom.zip somewhere in windows temp files then rename to PG76IMG.zip then copy to root of memory card then flash by holding Vol down + power when completely off fast boot uncheck.
Also you have to make a goldcard for this to work if you are s-on
Thanks. Ill try that

The only way to remove the locked relocked is to downgrade the hboot. In hboot 1.08.0099 and 1.09.0099, Locked, relocked, etc will be there no matter what.
You will have to try and flash an hboot like 0.90.0000, 1.03.0000, or 1.08.0000 to get rid of the locked indicator.

[Q] stock ota update 2.13.401.3 to 2.26.401.3 red triangle

Hi,
I tried updating my friends wildfire s from 2.13.401.3 to 2.26.401.3.
But during the process of updating the red tringle showed up and de process of updating came to a stop. Don't know the error exactly but from what I can remember it gave a : (status 7)
Also tired to install it using the RUU: RUU_Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.26.401.3_Radio_47.23e.35.3038H_7.57.39.10M_release_261695_signed
But this gave me an error to: ERROR 140.
Some information about his phone:
Stock (no root or unlock)
Hboot 1.08.0000
2.13.401.3
Does someone know how to solve this?

Two questions need to be answered first:
1. Is your bootloader locked?
2. Do you have a custom recovery?
You need to have the stock recovery and a locked bootloader for OTA updates.

The phone is completly stock and has never been unlocked or rooted.
So a custom recovery was never installed.
I think that I may have the solution but don't know for sure.
When I tried to install the PG76IMG.zip trough the bootloader it gave me an error: main verison is older.
Another thing I noticed was that when I connected the phone to op in bootloader and ran a ruu.
The version currently installed on the phone was detected by the ruu program and was something like: 10.13.401.3
So maybe if I try this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445867&page=1
And after that I could try to install the new 2.26.401.3 using the PG76IMG.zip trough the bootloader.
Do you think this would fix it?
My problem is fixed.
Found out that the wildfire s had the mainver: 11.33.401.2
Edited this to 2.13.402.1.
After that I flashed the 2.26.401.3 ruu trough the bootloader (PG76IMG.zip)
And now the phone accepted the zip!
