I recently started using the HTC contacts widget and already hit trouble.
I did a search for anything related to "contacts" and "widget" but I found no threads describing this problem.
- I have all my contacts stored as Google contacts (with photos). Some of my contacts have their facebook account linked to them.
- Photos I selected for ALL my contacts are Google photos.
- I created a new group (called Speed Dial) and included all the people I wanted to show in the contacts widget.
And now for the problem... I added about 10 people to the widget, some of them have a facebook account linked some of them don't. When I first added them all the appropriate Google photos were shown (although they were blurry but I could live with that).
However, anytime I sync my contacts or restart the phone ALL the photos are reset to Facebook photos. Not only for the contacts included in contacts widget but for ALL contacts that have a facebook account linked to them.
Is this a bug, a feature or just me being stupid and missing some fundamentals?
Does anyone have a tip or an advice?
Any help is appreciated.

Is there a nice, good looking contacts widget for Desire? What do you guys use?
I've experienced the same and would prefer the photo I choose to appear instead of the facebook one. A friend of mine has his cat as his facebook contact photo and this keeps coming up on my phone. If anyone has some suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.
Is there an app / way to assist me in syncing the callerID pictures on my phone to their facebook primary profile picture like what it does on WP7 ?
Already possible. Just connect an existing contact with the corresponding facebook contact. The pictures should start synchronizing now depending on your settings.

How do I exactly do that?
Well you have to go to Contacts->Add account->Facebook, choose your Facebook contacts and merge them with your Google contacts. Then all the stuff from Facebook should sync with your Google contacts, but it won't back up the Facebook contacts to your account, which sucks
OR, you can get this app called Google Contact Sync, log in to your accounts in the app (Windows app) and it'll sync all of your Facebook friends to your current Google contacts, which works out to be awesome!
When I tap on facebook, I get kicked back to the accounts and sync page... what seems to be the issue here?
no no no don't tap on the Facebook icon in the 'More accounts' section, there should be one in 'Integrated accounts', use that one.
Do you have SNS installed?

Im using Doc's v9 Barebones, so I think SNS is not installed.
Ok so I've installed the SNS application and added the integrated account logged into my face book account and not its like "Loading..." forever..
EDIT:
NVM found it, its gonna be a pain to join the contacts 1 by 1 and they get renamed according to their facebook names ~_~

i think i have a same problem like u before
but now, problem solved with SyncMyPix (free at the market), the best caller photo sync i ever try
it's very simply, just syncronize it, and u can link with ur contact one by one if don't have exact match name with ur facebook friends
sometimes, it automatically syncron, if u have a exact match on full name or last name
if the picture miss crop, u can crop it manually from the original picture
since the default samsung sync contact can't do that way
notes: u need to set your contact saved as in g-mail account first.

Dont wanna save them as gmail contacts, Can anyone tell me how I can sycn the facebook contacts to my phone and still follow the name on my phone contact lists, come of my contacts follow the name on the phone but a lot of them auto changes to their current FB name..

Until now I was running a sense rom where I had all my contacts linked to their facebook profile so they all show their facebook pictures.
All my contacts are sync with google and so for all of them, if I look at them in gmail, there's a note like this :
<HTCData><Facebook>id:63xxx4/friendof:21xxx95</Facebook></HTCData>
Last week, I switched to a non-sense rom. When I synced my contacts from gmail to the stock android contact list, some of them displayed the facebook picture, and some of them did not, despite having the link showed above.
Also, when in gmail, if I look at my contacts, only some of them display the picture from htc sense, of course, these are the one which display a picture when I sync them with android. How come don't they all get the picture from sense?
Do you know why it works with only a few of them?
Is there a way I can have all my contacts display their facebook picture?

to sync contacts with fb on aosp rom, i think the contact has to have the exact same name in your contacts as there display name on fb

As said, the names have to be exact. If not, you can just edit the contact and 'join' them to the FB app...it's quite easy tbh
open contact -> press menu -> edit contact -> press menu -> join
hi guys, i dont know if i am in the right thread and if its diffrent from phone to phone (if not, mods please move this thread.)
but my question is,
how can i choose a contact photo and make it stay. most of the time i use the phone contact picture and not facebook. i already disabled facebook and twitter for htc sense.
but still the standard twitter and facebook app changes my contact pictures. and i dont like it. i would like to have the picture i choose stay. is there any way?
i still like the linking to facebook and twitter just dont like the automatic picture change, every time my phone synchronizes with facebook, it chages the pictures. ist allright that it updates the picture for the facebook account but in the htc contact app i only want to see my pictures i selected.
because the other thing is. i am using launcher pro plus and using the contact widget and this one cant display the facebook pictures. i dont know why. but sometimes i dont even like the facebook pictures. would be great if somebody could help.

I can't sychronise a picture from gallery to a contact (when call someone to shown his picture). I am with B125 rooted and when I choose the picture to sychronise it can't shown my contacts... Is there any other way to do that?
