Just wondering if someone can help I currently have lots of music in sub folders on my SD card they are not correctly tagged so both 3 (cube) and the default app so mixed results. What I am after is a app or a way to see and play the music but bunch / group the folders almost like using the folders as the cd names.
Any ideas / answers would be most appreciative
Thanks
Lee

Does anyone know of a good mp3 downloading app? I've tried sme from the market most of them suck.

I would suggest buying your own music. The supposed mp3 downloader apps are just the same app renamed and resubmitted. If you check the permissions 9 times out of 10 it'll require GPS, which a simple mp3 downloader should not need.

Yeah Music Junk or MP3 Music Download and it doesn't require GPS, why would it need gps when it connects to internet to find the files?

Check out Music Online Lite. Has a lot of songs I couldn't find on others. They have a paid version also that gives more search engines, but I've found everything I needed on the lite version.

Just a quick question that I havent come across in the forums. Im an organization freak and I just wanted to know how I can edit the titles of my songs to change them if they arent properly titled. I tried through a file explorer and even better, through root explorer but it hasnt worked. If someone can help it would be appreciated.

I share the same freakish obsession. My library has over 10,000 titles and all of them are perfectly organized and file named.
The answer is not Android. It is a PC application called MediaMonkey. It will auto-organize all of your music, tag it, rename files and convert them on the fly as it syncs with your mobile devices. There is no better solution at any price, and it is free. Even iTunes users switch after trying it, and they are usually too stubborn to admit that iAnything is not the best.

Haha, yes I can only agree. But thanks this has been something that has been bothering me everytime I open up my music application. Its greatly appreciated. Ill be sure to check it out and report back

I, too, use media monkey. Rather than fixing each song manually, I auto tag from the web, to ensure I get cover art as well. Just stinks to get started, but now I ensure everything is in order as I ingest the songs into my library.
Yeah, I tried tune up but media monkey is free so I cant argue with that. Im getting used to it as we speak.

For this phase of getting your files in order, look in the directory view and find a folder called Files To Edit (or something like that). It shows various folders of files that are missing important information.

Okay, works great thanks for the help.
Btw, while we're on the topic is there any mp3 downloaders any of you would recommend? I use an app that doesnt really have many of the songs I look for.

Sorry, I'm no help with that. I always buy full CD's and rip them to FLAC. It may be old school, but I have never found an mp3 source that was anything but unsatisfactory. I do convert to mp3, but I use VBR and a high bitrate.

Ahhh, I understand. Well to be honest, l am about to do the same. Itll be much more convienent in many ways.

Depends on the quality you want and how much of an audiophile you are. You could use tubemate to simply convert any video on youtube to a mp3. I have done that with some songs I just can't find elsewhere.
What kind of music are you looking for?
Well I used to do the same with youtube except taking every single song individually grew to be a pain. Im just looking for anything that I feel like listening to at the moment. Im currentley in the process of downloading some of System of a Down's albums. Its usually whatever im in the mood for. But sometimes I use an app on the market and it downloads the song yet the artist and the album are incorrect.

Ah, gotcha, yep, that's the price you have to pay. I tend to make channels in Last.fm, and let it play music similar to bands I like. Found countless new (to me) bands that way.

There's an Android app called MyTunes Lite that lets you edit ID tags on the phone.
Does anyone have the problem where the music player pulls all audio files including ringtones and notification tones and displays them in the list? I find it frustrating that it does this. Does anyone know a way to get around this?

No just plays music from my music folder try putting all ur music in a music folder. Before u do that force close the player then erase data for it and the media storage then make ur folder.

I have a question regarding the twiz music player. I'm on jellyb and somehow my stock music player or the Walkman can't "see" some of my music even thought they're in mp3 format. I've tried renaming the damn songs and they still don't pop up. I am able to play them using es explorer and having it play through stock app but it's just not popping up. Any ideas of how I could fix this?

If you just put on phone you might need to rescan media. There are apps in play store to force a rescan. Then I had a problem in the past where a app was creating a .nomedia file so the media scanner skipped that folder.

Almost like deja vu. Having the same issue in either the stock music player or Play Music. Just moved over to Note 2 from S3 and didn't have this happen on S3. Tried unmounting and mounting external SD card so as to force a rescan, no dice.
So i just rebooted the phone, went to Music Player and it's blank, says i have no music on phone. While contemplating what to do next (including downloading a re-scan media app from the market) i just let it alone and a minute later all my music started showing up and populating. I guess it took its sweet time to re-scan or get it's head right.

Only other couple things off the top of my head would be go to settings and application manager find the music player and try clearing data. My guess is that won't work since it's multiple players. Other thing I know some songs I downloaded from a mp3 app before didn't show until I updated the id3 tag for some reason. The ones that didn't show had a bunch of garbage in the id3 mostly random symbols. Once they got corrected they started showing up for me. But that was when I had my epic touch. Hope it works for ya.

Okay. I've tried on root box and now axis m. Any songs I add after installing WILL NOT show up. I have tried restarting, forcing a media scan with an app "rescan media" nothing works. Please help me before I lose my mind..

Check for any folders labeled " .no media ". That will prevent media scanner from seeing that folder.

Check settings on your media player. Sometimes it's not looking in what it thinks is the right place. For example, you know your music is on your external sd. But if your music player is looking for in /storage/sdcard1 for music and its actually labeled as /storage/extSdCard, it won't see it.

How do I do that on the stock Samsung music player..I don't see it

On the stock player,I have no idea. Try using one of the free players on the market. Maybe it's Rom related, or it could be the stock player.
