cheers
It's still something wrong but it's not apps2sd coz some people never apply it and their phone are partly bricked anyway (usb, sim, SD, fm radio) just from flashing different rom (without a2sd of course) Nobody knows what exactly causing this problemb but a2sd should be safe however as always do it at your own risk.

If this is the case, it could actually be an error from HTC's side, triggered by flashing another rom?
It could be but remember we flashing unofficial stuff
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
did apply it with none of the reported errors so its got to do with the handsets ie software, provider etc something has to be in common for the errors

So did I but not at first attempt. My SD stopped working at first time as well as Bluetooth and not 100% sure of that but I think my usb hasn't been working either. Well it didn't work in fastboot (weird) it could've been my computer playing with me however I was unable to mount it as disk drive as well (had no option for that) I did explain what I've done to fix it but it didn't work for anyone else. So you might be right that could be related to handset. Luckly mine is back alive 100%.

yeah I read it but the issue was that the phone was connecting to my computer. I figured it out had to remove sim and battery wait a couple seconds then was able to boot into bootloader. thanks all issue fixed.
Can't use my wifi now apparently, got the latest t-mobile radio but it's blanked out , it's also only saying "Edge" but earlier it was on 3G

Try flashing a different radio, make sure you've got the unlocking thingy done, i think it's called HardSPL or something by olinex or something. There is a collection of radios on XDA, just cant find it right now as the search isn't working at the moment.
EDIT: heres the radios link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=549939
NOTE: Make sure you follow the instructions very carefully when doing any kind of flashing to your phone, i'm not responsible for any issues that may arise.
Hope this helps a bit

You had a strange experience when flashing. I would try a hard reset, and if that doesn't work, flash it again.
I have been using incredibly re-engineered z and downgraded to clockwork 3.0.0.7 as the instructions say to do to load nils business sense z . I downloaded the rom and used Rom Manager to install the new rom, as I always do, except for restoring sometimes in recovery. For some reason when the phone booted back there was a horizontal black line across the screen below the "HTC Incredible boot screen...then there are two vertical white lines at each end of the screen and the center is black.. The home, menu, back and search button still have haptic feedback, so i assumed the phone didnt quite make it into recovery...pulled the battery...tried regular reboot...same thing happens at the boot screen. Got phone into bootloader and when i hit fastboot, it shoots out a bunch of errors it seems real quickly. All is can read is SD checking...no image or wrong image...PB310IAG.zip (i think)...lack of heap. I tried to get the phone into recovery from the bootloader screen and the same thing keeps happening. I'm stuck and have no clue what kind of fix there is for this...am i bricked? I dont get this...have flashed roms 20 times or so and nothing like this has ever happened...please help!
Sense you can't get into recovery you are going to have to flash back to stock with an RUU..... if you want I will help you through the process..... first check and make sure your SD card is formatted fat32... and let me know and we will go from there

i was able to format fat 32...also tried a factory reset and clear memory...appreciate any help...thanks!
actually just tried to make sure once again and it says SD FAT32 init OK

Process done, reboot device?
(vol up) yes...i am at that screen now

Ok follow these steps exactly for step was formatting the SD so hboot can read the zip..... now download the zip I'm giving you and place it on the root of your SD card once you have it there rename the zip PB31IMG.zip exactly, then boot into hboot wait for for it to search for it if you did my steps correctly it will once it finds it it will ask you if you want to update press the button up to update let it do its thing till it says it done and asks you to reboot... don't panic and pull the battery because the process can take awhile just be patient... make sure you have a good charge
Here's the file let me know what happens....

hit volume up and rebooted...didnt reboot into hboot though and same thing happened at incredible screen...assume the sd card is still formatted correctly
i do not have a sd adaptor for my mac and not sure how to flash anything on the hboot screen. Also I have never used my computer for anything on the phone so know very little about how I would put something on the root of my sd card through a computer
thinking about going to verizon tomorrow and just telling them that I might have picked up some new malware that I hear is going around on the market...that it has caused this to my phone...???

just wierd...flashed many a rom and this has never happened before. No clue what I did wrong as I do the same thing every time I flash a new rom through rom manager...make a backup if I wish and wipe...then reboot and off we go...for some reason things went a bit different this time. no clue...?
Yea it sounds strange if you go to Verizon be carefull

if i am able to get an adaptor, how easy would it be to do this. As mentioned, I ve never really done anything with the phone on my computer. I have seen the mass storage files and pulled pics from the sd card through a usb cord and thats about it. I can get an adaptor pretty easily. Just dont know if I can actually do this. I'm decent with computers, but far from an expert
what did i do to the phone so i can try not to do this again. Its like rom rom manager messed me up...sux
Its hard to tell what happened without skittles more info but I can help you I will we will Yakut step by step if you want to try I'm willing to help

most definitely...pretty beat from a long week. Are you gonna be around tomorrow? Also, do you know about mac's? I also have a windows machine so i guess it doesnt matter, but know the mac a little better myself.
I use windows myself but all you need it for is to download the file and then copy it to your SD the rest is done on the phone its actually pretty easy ill just have to explain it in more detail for you.... so if you want to wait go ahead and download the file its about 180mb so you will have it and we will get you fixed

So no root, and no stuff? How did the problems started?
If it's stock and keeps rebooting - a hardware fault is mostly a problem.

I concur, take it back for warranty. It might be that one of your games is acting up using more CPU for longer than it's supposed to, but it's a good reason to take it back. There have been many reports motherboard fault related.

A friend of mine had some problems and asked if I could look into it for him. I've never owned an Incredible so I don't really know much about it. I figured I'd post here and see if you guys can help.
Here's what he sent me:
"So I've got an Incredible and recently its been prompting me to do updates when I'm pretty sure my phone is up to date. So I click update and it says its going to reboot and then never does. So this morning I wake up and its like internal SD card cannot be read or something to that extent. But what's weird is that all my music still works but all my custom ringtones are broke. It's like the 8GB SD card is working, but the internal memory is failing. What do? "
Any ideas?

I assume its rooted, thats why the update wont go thru. As for the memory, does a reboot fix it?
Does this user also understand the concept of safely ejecting his phone before removing it from the computer (most importantly after moving, editing, or pasting files)?
Chances are, his sd card and internal memory could use a good 'disc checking' from a windows computer.. Lol

My cousin called me yesterday complaining of the same thing. He stated that he has been recieving OTA updates for the phone on a daily basis lately and since the first update has been getting an internal memory low popup on his Incredible.
His phone is NOT rooted and completely stock with the original SD card. Would like help from anyone else having this issue and knows what the deal is with the multiple OTA's coming in and killing memory.
Okay, here is what needs to happen if you are to get rid of that error..
Go to cyanogenmod and follow the wiki to root and ROM your phone...
Or, do the update...
Now, i would strongly recommend the first choice, as oppose to the second..
The stock software is disgusting.
Rooted cm7 will not only run a lot better for you, but you will be more up to date than the ota update.
You're phone most likely is running out of internal memory, because it is downloading the update and storing it in preparation.
Just do a google search for cyanogenmod, go to their site, click your device, then click the related wiki page..
Follow the instructions and check back here on xda if you have any questions.
Good luck

For the update to succeed, the phone has to be plugged into the wall charger.

I have a problem with youtube not working i get an error message "ATTENTION There is no network connection right now. Please try again later." I can't access youtube via the app or through google. I believe the app is pre installed as the option to uninstall the app is grayed out.
Thought of a great plan to root my phone to uninstall the app and then reinstall. I don't know what im doing i d/l'd Kingo root, ticked the box for debugging mode but can't find the S-on option to turn off.
In summary i just need to get youtube working again the above is how far i have got but couldn't say if im in the right direction so need guidance.
Thanks guys.
Hi, welcome to the forums have you tried deleting the apps data from settings/apps/YouTube? And have you tried using WiFi?
If you want to root you will probably need to use revolutionary to gain s-off. Just follow the guides in the general section and the wildfire index from the dev section

Got to the S-OFF instructions where it tells me to download a program to help with back dating my phone. Only maybe my anti-virus has drawn up a false positive but its saying its a trojan horse virus.
Possible the site could have been infected?
Also, i don't have a microSD card so do i skip the step or is there something else to it?
EDIT.

OK, this is not the thread I thought it was. What specifically is coming up as a trojan horse?
If it is anything it will be psneuter, which is a false positive.
Can you boot into hboot and tell me what version you have? ( power off fully and then power back on using volume down and power at the same time. The screen with show a bunch of numbers on a background you will probably not have seen before, tell me them. Battery pull and then reboot with power button to return to normal)
Also a SD card is mandatory, for the whole process, no sdcard - no s-off pal.

Congratulations download an app called root uninstaller. Use it to uninstall YouTube and then redownload from then play store if that still doesn't help try flashing cyanogenmod 7 and gapps and see if that improves any. Ok watch this video for making a back-up, remember that when you are in the recovery you need to use the trackball to select and push it in to confirm. just do as i do
then download this CM7 and this gapps.
then place the onto your sdcard in whatever way you prefer and reboot back into recovery.
then watch this video
and that will be you sorted pal

Heavy metal you been an absolute star, the only guy bothering to help me out with this. Managed to root my phone and got me interested in making customisation to it in the future, il probably start with the background as it looks boring :good: Also sorting out a backup is a true necessity anyways and the vids a time saver.
However what i have just found out to my dismay would be that youtube doesn't send for updates automatically and doesn't tell you about it when you really need to either. So it wasn't a bug at all. On the plus side i have a root software, back up and an sd card...:victory:
Signing off til the next time my phone stops working.

I think that Google has dropped support for the froyo version of android. Which means that you must either s-off your phone and flash a custom ROM on gingerbread or higher (guides in the general section) or buy a new device that has a newer android version. Or keep using it via web browser pal.
