This is weird and has me stumped....
Only got the Desire yesterday and set the alarm clock for 5:50 this morning to wake me for work.
Tested it last night and all was well but this morning it simply didn't go off.
I was awake anyway luckily so once it didn't go off I set another test alarm to go off at 6:05.
This went off fine...
No idea what's wrong with my 5:50 alarm but I did notice that the time in the alarms panel has a black background behind it. If I set the time after 6:00 the background turns white.
Just deleted the alarm and created a new one but once again the time has a black background if it's set before 6:00.
Anyone know what the black background means?
Is it perhaps telling me that the alarm will not go off??
Hope I've made the problem clear, any help appreciated as always.
Cheers
Justin
I think I have this problem. I set my alarm last night for 1030am. I didn't hear a thing. Either I was soooo in deep slumber or it simply didn't go off. It happens a few times. I have three alarm set up. one is for 2330 and it has a white background. The other two is for 1030 and 1630 and have black background. Only the 1030 seems to not go off... The other two are fine.. weird!
stop using task killer apps or add the clock to your ignore list!
I've noticed this as well.
I'v tried using Timeriffic to sort my profiles out for this issue, and it didn't work.
Not sure what the problem is...
Can't speak for others but I have no task killer apps
No task killer as well...

I have an I9300 with 4.1.2, but this issue started after the 4.1 upgrade...
My phone sits in a Samsung desk stand all night, which really turns it in to a great nightstand clock. When the phone is placed in the desk stand it automatically switches in to the Desk Clock mode, and when I remove it from the stand it automatically closes the Desk Clock view. Now, the problem I have been seeing is that if the phone is still in the stand when the alarm goes off, I can easily swipe to snooze or turn off the alarm. Some mornings, when the alarm goes off I pick my phone up out of the stand before I swipe to make a choice. When I do this, the swipe options vanish and the alarm continues going off for about 15 minutes. At this point, my options are restart the device, pull the battery, or shove it under my pillow before it wakes up the whole neighborhood.
It seems like the Desk Clock app takes over display of alarms, but it seems to have been broken in 4.1+ to not remain open if an alarm is actively going off.
Any ideas or suggestions on how to fix this?

I don't use it myself so these are shots in the dark:
Do you get a notification when your alarm goes off? Could maybe use the pulldown menu to turn it off.
Does it get back to Desk Clock mode when you set it back down? That would allow you to snooze/turn off the alarm.
Put the phone on silence.
So I've had a difficult time snoozing my alarm from my phone since getting the 360. Of course this is at 6am and I'm just fumbling with buttons until the alarm quiets. Problem is I seem to be completely turning the alarm off, which has resulted in me waking up an hour late the last 2 days.
The only conclusion I can reach us the fact that my watch is connected. Is there anyway to ensure I'm snoozing/turning off my alarm from my phone? Am I right in thinking the watch is causing this issue?

The watch and phone have completely separate alarm apps. They don't interact with each other in any way. Has nothing to do with the watch.

It's just strange that all the sudden my volume keys don't "snooze", and nothing is actually showing up on my phone giving me an option to swipe for "snooze" or "turn off".
Seems like the only way to get it to stop is to hit the power button and all that does is turn the alarm off. Have never had this happen until the watch was connected. And at the time it happens my watch is docked and doesn't show anything other than the time and change (normal screen when watch is on the charger. Standard charger that came with the 360 mind you).
Guess it's time to do some experiments and see what's going on.
This might be one of threads that could benefit from knowing which phone and ROM you are using.
On a stock Nexus 5, the Alarm clock works the same since I've purchased the watch. On screen I have the option to Snooze or Turn off the alarm with a swipe.

Note 3 running the same alliance rom v1 and stock clock app that I've been running for the past several months. The alarmed worked literally the day I bought the Moto 360. It stopped working literally the next morning after connecting the watch for the 1st time the day before.
The only thing that changed was using the 360. Guess im.the only one having the issue. Once I get home I'll be able to test it out while on the charger.
Perhaps you can disconnect the 360 tonight and see if you face the same issue tomorrow morning.
I had a Fitbit Flex as my silent alarm which worked really well until the strap broke and I got fed up being unable to changed alarms when the Fitbit server went down! So I got my new Smartwatch 3 yesterday and found out the out of the box alarm doesn't work in theatre/cinema mode. Bit of an oversight there Google!
So is anyone using this watch to get them up in the mornings?
I tried AlarmClock Extended which seemed to work last night when I tested it after setting up the watch, but the vibrating alarm didn't go off this morning until I turned on the watch with the button (turning off theatre mode).
I'd set my phone to silent which also seems to se the watch to silent! The alarm still vibrated when I turned the watch back on with this though.
Should the phone be in Priority mode perhaps? Or shall I just not bother with theatre mode and turn down the brightness so when I knock the screen during the night it doesn't wake us with the light!?
I have also tried to use Sleep As Android but it is so impossible to configure I gave up.
I use Sleep as Android (SAA) - it's been easier to configure as the dev has updated it, but still takes some time to learn. You can also use the alarm on the watch which usually worked for me, I use SAA because I can configure the alarm on my phone instead of the watch.
Also, I have tilt to wake off so the only time it turns on at night is if I touch the screen--seems to work for me.
Thanks,
I've just taken another look as Sleep as Android and realised the vibrating alarm on the watch doesn't just do it once, it's actually every few seconds increasing in the amount of vibrations. Doh! Thought it didn't work properly! I'm going to give it a proper go again tonight.
Cheers,
Z.

huh! I didnt know that. might have to give that a go myself...
Well, I tried out Sleep as Android properly last night/this morning and the thing woke me up no problem. Bit of a pain to turn off the alarm on the watch but that is probably for the best!
Goodbye Fitbit Charge
Hi!
I am also searching for a good alarm app. The problem I have is that the vibration is too noisy so I wake up my partner. I have tried SAA and it does a nice gentle few vibrations first, but it is so difficult to stop that I always end up in noisy buzzing...
Any other apps you have tried?
Thanks!
Have begun to use the alarm function on the CLOCK. I find that it is not reliable. I have tried various ways of clearing and resetting and airplane mode on and off. Many times the alarm does not go off. I tried adding TIMELY in addition to the CLOCK. This morning none of the alarms went off, but when I turned the phone on I could see an older time which then jumped to the real time (on the clock - opening screen - home page) and the TIMELY alarm came on 11 minutes late. I turned that alarm off and went to my desk (fully awake and with phone 2 feet away). I have a second alarm 45 minutes later which did not go off on CLOCK or TIMELY. I turned the phone on and saw time was 12 minutes later than the set time, and TIMELY alarm went off. It is as if the phone stops tracking time when it is off and CLOCK will not recover. Some days both alarms work fine. I have seen threads in other forums indicating this is a problem with this phone. HOW DO I FIX THIS? or IS THERE A WORK AROUND? or IS THERE AN APP I CAN USE THAT WILL BE RELIABLE on this phone.
.thhhhhhx
Anyone else having this issue? I feel like it worked months ago, but haven't really paid attention. When my phone alarm clock goes off, my watch does nothing. Notifications for it are on... I don't know what's up.
