Hi!
What is the fastest ROM for the ARTEMIS?
Is the "ARTEMIS Vanilla 2.0 WWE ROM" or the "ARTEMIS Touch 2.1 WM6 WWE" faster?
Full version or lite version?
Has anybody done a comparison?
bye

Hi. I find the fastest for me is the HTC P3300 official ROM. I have tried several of these roms here and this and the official O2 rom was the fastest on my Orbit. I am running TomTom6.30 on it and it comes up in like 20 secs from cold all the time. The buttons are responsive and don't have to wait around for them to load. I had not noticed anything adverse with this Rom. Hope it helps.
Meschle Vanilla 2.0
I can definately say meschle's vanilla 2.0 is the fastest rom out there... try it you'll be amazed!
ARTEMIS Vanilla 2.0 WWE ROM is faster then Touch. IMHO
i have artemis 2.2 touch and is very good
@ most of you above: how can you state the speed of different ROMs when you have tested them after each other in stead of next to each other?
I've tried half a dozen different ROMs, but I can't really say which one is the fastest. I have my thoughts off course, but I can't compare them next to each other.
@ TS: if you want to test this, try to install the same programs on eacht ROM (apart from the ones who came with the ROM), and use a stopwatch to measure the time it takes to do some things (for instance open \windows folder, start up TomTom, make the touch cube go round 3 times). Maybe you can find/use a PocketPC benchmark tool to automate some things for you?
I've tried many ROMs for my Artemis. I can simply say meschle's Vanilla 2.0 is the fastest I've seen.

You know, my problem with the Vanilla ROM is that there is no
- AudioManager (eats half of memory than WMP),
- Voice Recorder,
- X-Button / Task Manager,
- Big button dialer (3 buttons in one row, instead of 4)
- HTC Home plugin (OK, it's not necessary if you have Spb Mobile Shell)
on board, if I understood well from the Vanilla 2.0 thread.
I've just mentioned the progs which I'd like to have and all go to Widows folder, causing a remarkable slowdown of the system. So, this is my dilemma: if I clothe a Vanilla with all those programs I loose its speed, the main advantage of the rom.
That's why I'm still hesitating which rom to try, while using the official WM6...

Ah, ok ... thx.
Was bit confused about the name
Hi!
And thanks for all the information!
One more question:
What do you think and what is your experience, respectively?
What ROM is faster: Vanilla 2.0 (CE OS 5.2.1921 (Build 18125.0.7.0) or original German (CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)
Or does it make no difference?

Hi,
Looking for a new ROM to be installed on my XDA Orbit I though that it would be great to inform all of forum users which one is the best in our opinions. We are testing it a lot, finding bugs and choosing the best one.
Please give to all of us your opinion on the following ROMs using grades from 1-5 (5 - the best one):
- Artemis Touch 3.01 WM6 WWE ROM, 5.2.1921 SDHC Full, Lite)
Artemis Touch 3.01 WM6 WWE ROM, 5.2.1921 SDHC Vanila)
- Black & Blue v4.3
- O2 Premium 2.0 WM6 WWE ROM, 5.2.1921 SDHC (Full & Lite)
I'm using Meschle's Touch 3.01 Full with Cube.. I'd rate it 4 out of 5
- O2 Premium 2.0 WM6 WWE ROM, 5.2.1921 SDHC (Full & Lite)
well, i think Touch 3.01 Full with Cube is the best so far.. with rating 4/5
BEST ROM so far
The Meschle Rom (full) is for me the most stable / fastest / best composition one
Bepe Rom build 0.53
O2 premium 2.0
I am using O2 premium 2.0 - rate 4/5
before I used O2 premium plus 1.0 - rating 5/5 - more stable
I do not know about Toutch 3.1- never tested, but curious..
regards

Same here. 1.0 drained more memory and was a tad slower but it was more stable as it was.
2.0 is pretty stable too but every now and then you have to reset it because some random issue appears. Usually something small but annoying like, internet won't connect or something. Other than that, it's the best ROM yet for me.
Touch 3.0 was not stable enough for me but I really liked it visually.
Meschle o2 premium 2
Best rom to be run on artemis
Vanilla 2.0 (5\5)
Totally agree about Meschle's Touch 3.01 Full with Cube. I'd rate it as 4.5 out of 5.
really great rom, super fast and stable. Thank again!
I have tried a lot, but nothing was as stable and sophisticated as Bepes 0.53 Full (incl. Cube)
Especially if you use TomTom there's nothing better than flash it with your ROM!
4.5 out of 5 (because of storage running full)

It was very tempting for me to try it, but, reading the thread of Bepe's rom, I'm afraid of the memory leak! It's one of the biggest disadvantage for me if a rom 'eats' the free RAM memory. I know, every ROM does it, even the official, but -according to some forum mates- Bepe's ROM eats a lot and quickly.
Any comment?
Fist had Mischele's TF 3.1, Excellent one, then O2 premium Latest was release. Liked the colourful icons and TF screens. Equally impressed. Both are equally good.
Both ROM were very stable on mine. Maybe my P3300 was 'virgin' before it was flashed with those 2 cooked ROMs.
Thanks to Mischele

Just because TomTom is in the RAM you can imagine those 20MB are missing, BUT also these 20MB free in your data storage.
This does not matter too much. I have to reset every second/third day to get the Memory back - and this doesn't make much difference to any other ROM (including the original) - just try it!
If you do not use TomTom there is absolutely no disadvantage that has not been solved so far!
Tip: OxiosMemory.PocketPC.CAB (Hibernate) helps a bit
B&B 4.1
I've gone "back" to B&B 4.1 as I personally find it the most stable version. I have customised a lot of the screens to a black vista theme and am very happy without SDHC support as my card is only 2GB!
best rom
for me is Vanilla rom v1 (56MB storage/ 27MB free ram) with gsm 02.93.90 + install SDHC driver.
This rom is without TouchFLO and work correct sbp phonesuite and IM+.
Artemis touch 2.1. I´ve problems with later WM6 version and the use of the phone -sometimes it doesn´t let me to use the PHONE unless I make a softreset-
Ok form my experience Meshcle's newest rom is fast and stable and overall a good rom.
B&B is also good but out-dated now that meschle's rom has come out.
Despite this, i switched back to B&B4.3 simply due to the fact that it LOOKS a lot better.
In my opinion, Meschle and Tom and should wortk together and produce a SUPER rom that has all the good features in meshle's and tom's roms witout any of the bad features.
oh yh and meshcle needs advice on how to make his rom's look better because if they did look better i'd use them.
Hey guys, I'm using energyrom leo 28014 (the 6.5.3 one) and It's verry laggy, I don't know if it's the manilla 2.5 that's laggy, or the 6.5.3 that's laggy.
Which energy rom and version do you use? Is it laggy?
I'm using what's in my sig.
And I Love It .....................
I'm also on the 28014 sense 2.1 and it's very snappy.
None of the poll
I´m using 28008 as my sig states
So far the best I´ve tested
2.5 is not good enough yet
Mine is not slow, of course after doing proper tweaking
Don´t forget to vote guys!

What performance tweaks have you applied to your ROM?
I'm using 21885 sense 2.1 as in my sig. Love it so far.
My personal favorite is the Dec.4 Leo 28008 (very fast and stable; no lag, no hang). Unfortunately, due to no mirrors, I doubt you can get it now.
EDIT: Well it seems there's a Leo mirror. It contains all Leo ROMs from December.
I am using EnergyRom Leo 21885 Standard with MaxManila 2.7 cab and it's very nice no lagging at all.
Sorry for the newbness of this question but when I do a search for energyrom, I get overloaded with answers.
What is an energyrom? How is it different from any other custom ROM?
Have a look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=490
You´ll find 2 energy ROM´s: Leo: Manila 2.5, and Phoenix2: Manila 2.1
Strange question, there is a ROM based on WM6.1 or WM6.5 that using TouchFLO2D?
I have try many ROM with TouchFLO3D/Sense2.5, but no one is quickly as my old Touch Viva!
I have try also the stock ROM of Diamond, but some custom ROM is more quickly also with Sense2.5
Yes, I agree, I'm finding Rom 6.5.x + TouchFlo with optimization for 128Mg RAM of Diamond, not like Energyrom, it's very good but too too big to fit in 128Mb.
Diamond has 192MB of RAM .
TouchFlo2D would be funny though.

I have try EnergyROM for a while but isn't so light, now I've Kimera 4.5(win 6.1) with Sense 2.5 disabled. Diamond is now VERY faster but the appearance isn't the same... Some month ago when I had Touch Viva! with the stock ROM and Manila2D the telephone was very quickly! and the appearance isn't so bad... a good compromise I think.
Do you have a good 6.5 ROM with Titanium to suggest me? Possibly in italian(really I need XT9 italian language not all the system)
Thanks to all.
you can try the diamond lover's rom is fast...has titanium and manila 2.5...is fast and i really like it
[another shameless promotion] look in my sig. Doesnt have Italian T9 though. But you can install your own keyboard (like fingerkeyboard)! (my rom uses the standard MS keyboard) [/shameless promotion]

I actually built a diamond 6.5 ROM with TF2D, just out of curiosity. The interface was fast, but it actually used more RAM than TouchFlo3D 1.2 did, and was kinda buggy. Those, added to the fact that the new and interesting versions of TF2D weren't available in VGA, meant that there really wasn't any advantage to using it.

I tried titanium but I don't like this interface. Very difficult when i want to change something.
Now I use energyrom 28008 with touchFLO 3d because I prefer finger friendly in WM 6.5.x.
This ROM is very fast, less error even it reach to 10mb free Ram after 1 day. I use addict CleanRam 1.93 to solve this prob. I wish find a way to reduce RAM cooked for increasing free memory.
where to find??
High time I changed the ROM on my Diamond. However there are really MANY of them and every cooker claims it's "faster, better, more badass". However, there is no objective speed test on all the ROMs. And here is my question: which ROM is the fastes though not ascetic (I mean, has at least the good, old TouchFlo 3D)? Please reply only if you've tried quite a few of them, not just one.
Start Testing.

try the one in my sig , it's quite old but it's the fastest (seriously it's the one of out of the hundreds of roms I flashed, in my opinion). That's because of it's build and a wm6.1 kernel. It's not a clean rom and it has Touchflo3d v1.
try it and let me know!

Let me know about it!
Hi,
I've tried a lot of roms and I cooked also for my old phone.
The balance is quite often the same eye candy features or speed
It meas that on the same phone the speed is conditioned by the gui you want to use...
Generally using the same windows version this the list af the fastest gui:
titanium
tf3d
sense 2.1
sense 2.5
in my opinion stat to choose you gui than your windows version...
6.1 6.5 or 6.5.x
generally a rom with 6.1 and sense 2.5 should be acceptable.
But a rom with 6.5 with titanium should be faster than the previous one.
but this depend also on the ability of the chef to cook the rom
To conclude I suggest the diamond lover rom with titanium is discontinued but the balance between features and seed is very good and the rom is very stable
if you like sense 2.5 donsalari rom is very fast but there are very few features and it's not completed
personally I don't like a lot 6.1 roms I prefer 6.5 for the touch friendly capabilities
I hope in other suggestions t learn different point ok view
