Megavideo problem - Desire General

Got my desire yest and loving it. Having a small problem tho when i try and watch a megavideo.com link I get automatically redirected to some crappy jej share. com site. Anyone know a fix to this? Really want to watch tv shows through megavideo.
Thanks

Bump.
Does anyone know a fix to this? Like i said the desire seems to automatically re-direct when i go to megavideo.com to this j.jeshare.com!

Try this in your browser
Menu key > More > Settings > Toggle off "Mobile view"

Thanks alot man that worked, but now i have another problem
When i go direct to megavideo and press play its saying this is not supported - shockwave flash.
However i know that is wrong because when i go to another website which has megavideo links embedded, the phone plays them no problem

Hehe, sounds like you need to manage your own expectations...
The Desire is a very capable internet device. It probably has the best mobile browser I've ever used. But it is still a mobile device and as such, not all websites will work...

Yeah looks that way
I'll just have to use the embedded website to watch my megavideo shows, strange that it says not supported when clearly it is tho

guys, have you tried this application? it lets you download and stream any megavideo video, directly on your device, without using flash player and without the browser!

You want help? Give us more info...
* What are you using to watch youtube videos? Somebody tell me if I´m wrong but, you can´t watch youtube videos with the rom only. You need an app to do that.
Here are some...
1 - Skyfire
2 - Youtube.cab - It lags a lot...
3 - Coreplayer - I use this one!
* What connection are you using? Wi-fi?
Sometimes connection is too slow to stream the video.
So... give us more info so you can get a better help....
Regards.
Thanks Joe, I just mentioned the Rom because I thought it might have something to do with it. I'm using wi-fi and I'm loading video using the youtube program from google, I'm assuming that's the youtube.cab ? I've been test playing the same video and it seems like the video freezes briefly at around the same times everytime. Skyfire seems to be working but the screen goes blank momentarily throughout a viewing. Coreplayer, I haven't tried but I'm assuming clicking a link on youtube would open up the player to play a video? I'm hoping there's a better way because that sounds more memory intensive. Thanks in advance for whatever help I can get.
Okay the YouTube official app is a sham and judders even on a Kaiser with extra grunt, skyfire is going though a server so all depends on that, CorePlayer will play anything thrown @ it, RTSP of YouTube is good quality... Not exactly memory intensive

I think you should give CorePlayer a try... the youtube.cab (from m.youtube.com) sucks. If you are going to try CorePlayer, it has its own youtube search engine built in. You do not search using a browser, you do it using CorePlayer.
I hope it helps.
Regards.

Youtube not opening by default on click

Afternoon all
Did a search but couldn't find anything dealing with this particular issue (if I've missed something, please point it out.).
When I use the native browser and hit a YouTube link, the browser opens up the HTC flash player/streaming media player. But I want it to open the YouTube app, like my HTC Hero used to.
I've tried clearing the defaults for the flash player, streaming media player, youtube app and internet but no joy.
If I try the same test using the Dolphin browser, I get the option to open youtube links with the youtube app, which is what I want the native browser to do!
Does anyone know how to get the native browser to handle youtube links with the youtube app?
Cheers

Bueller? Anyone?
anybody..
It's the same on mine. Can't see any way of changing it. I wonder if this is in anticipation of full flash support in the next Android release?
AFAIK it *should* work - it worked fine on the Hero and it works with the dolphin browser... I'm completely stumped

For those whos browsers crash with Flash content

I have just installed Skyfire Browser (beta) from the Market and the sites that crash for me using the Android built in browser are fine in Skyfire, ie BBC , sites that embed justin.tv videos.
i mainly use flash to watch football and the framerate is superb using Skyfire.
Hope this helps some people on here.
So you don't have todays Flash 10.1.95.1 update skewing the comparison?
5MB more gone...

No........... but ive just installed it and my usual sites are still crashing with the stock Android browser and fine with Skyfire
Here's a test then. How many embedded videos can you see and playon this page with the Skyfire browser? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/9004741.stm

I clicked your link and it crashed
and even worse the sites which were ok for my about 10 minutes ago now crash!!!!!!
what have you done?
got it working again after uninstalled/reinstalling.
this is weird as the football videos on the scottish premier league section of the BBC website play fine.
I have the "Enable plug-ins" option set top On-Demand and when i try your link i do not even see a box where the flash videos should be.
If i set "Enable plug-ins" option to "always on" and try your link then the browser crashes.
Thanks for trying and persisting
It's pages like that giving us weird problems, like crashes, lag, no embedded video showing, etc.
There should be two Flash vids on that page to play. I too have plugins set to on-demand and if I change it to Always on, then try that page -> crash. I don't know what it is but it is limited to a few sites in my case so it doesn't bother me as much.

same **** man....browser crashing here on bbc football.
fixed the crash by setting plug-ins to on demand but still some missing videos.
tried dolphin browser too but same problem

Playing video from the BBC Mobile site

I'm trying to watch videos from the BBC mobile sports site http://www.bbc.co.uk/sportmobile on my HOX but when I load the page I'm getting the message "Sorry your phone is not compatible to play media from this website"
Any suggestions on how I fix this?
Yep, it won't work in the built in browser (nor in Chrome).
However, it works fine in Dolphin Browser HD and Opera Mobile, both free in the market.

It works for me.....
Try enabling the flash player, not sure if that would make a difference.

Spot on, I enabled the flash player (which I had completely overlooked) and it works fine. Any idea why this is disabled by default? Is it to conserve the battery?

Try Chrome with MX. works fine for me - if it always goes to default, reset the defaults in the app settings.

Default video player I believe is hidden, does downloading MX not give you a prompt when trying to play a video? There should be a prompt like "play with" and the you can select "just once" or "always", then select MX player
If you've selected the default player to play it always, then a factory reset will help. Make sure you back everything up.
Seriously? Factory reset just to clear default apps is a bit extreme.
How about trying default reset apps such as:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appiator.defaultappmanager
Nexus 7 LTE
Stock rooted KOT49E
Faux Kernel

Alternatively :
If you use ES file Explorer you can long press a file, hit more/menu, go to "open as" select video, then select the installed program you want to use.

The current version of MX player worked fine on 4.4 but lost compatibility with 4.4.1 update. Im just waiting for the developers to release their update of MX, it will come soon Im sure.

Thanks! It's working. I didn't even think of trying the daily builds since the app store said it's not even compatible with my device.

Me too. The good thing mx player not working on 4.4.2 is forcing us to search better alternatives. Diceplayer is a good one. Samba server, ftp, stream, dts, audio booster etc. And no ads here.
Sorry my english.

Diceplayer has a nice Samba browser, but it won't play any of my .mkvs over my home network like MX would.

Have you tried using a libffmeg.so diceplayer compliant?

The reason the play store says it is not compatible is because it is blocked in many countries including the US. I read somewhere that it is a licensing issue.
