Hi..
Does any one know how to make the keypad backlight turn on together with lcd backlight. (keypad backlight also turn on when i tap the scren)
thanks
Hi,
I'm new Android user so sorry if my question sound stupid
for a short call the screen will be brighter when i move away my phone from my ear and i can tap on the end button on the screen, but the problem is when i make a long phone call say 30 minutes the screen is turned off (after in dim state for several minutes) and moving the phone away from my ear doesn't turn on the screen back, hence i can't press the end call.
is this the default nature of android phone?
of course i can press the power button to turn on the screen and then press the end call button on screen, but this is tedious and just annoying that i have to press power button and then end call button to end a call.
so how to turn on screen automatically when i want to end call after a long conversation?
Something is wrong with your setup.
As soon as you put the phone near your face the proximity sensor should turn the screen off (not dim, off) then when you move phone away again the screen lights up. The phone screen shouldn't go to sleep.
Check all your settings to make sure you haven't over-ridden the proximity sensor.
What ROM / Kernel / Radio are you using (if nor stock)?

Click to collapse
I'm using the stock kernel as this is new phone i don't want to void the guarantee.
can you point me where i can check the settings for proximity sensor? the only setting that i done involving screen is only its brightness.
thank you
I just noticed that even when I'm in a dark room the backlight of my desire hard keys won't turn on.
My unit is not rooted and running on official 2.3.3
Anyone know what the problem could be?
Is there anyway I can force them to go ON?
TIA!
When I use the optical trackball button to wake up my phone the screen wakes up but is black some times. About 50% of the time it works ok. Any one have an idea how to get it to work properly?
Best,
Feend
Previous CM12 allowed assigning actions to the home button when on the lock screen. The most useful of these was being able to turn the flashlight on with a long-press of the home button on the lockscreen. This worked a lot better then the current power-button driven mode (which is very finicky about the timing, but more importantly puts too much overload on turning off the phone or turning on the lockscreen).
It would be fantastic if the flashlight could be configured to be controlled on the lockscreen by a long press of the home button with the lockscreen on once again.
