I was listening to some music with the included HTC headset when I received a call. I started to hear the ringtone mixed with the Mp3 I was listening to. I pressed the answer button on the cable several times but I couldnt start the conversation. The ringtone was going on and on and feels like the phone froze somehow. It took me while to get the Desire back to senses and call the person back!
Anyone had this prob with the HTC headset?

This problem I am having seemed to start with WM5 AKU 2.3 and is still happening to me in WM6. If someone calls me, and I push the button on my bluetooth headset to answer, my ringtone plays for about a half a second to the person calling me. They usually complain about a loud noise when I answer the phone. I have discovered if I push the answer soft key on my phone instead, it doesn't play the ringtone, but it takes a little longer for my headset to pick up. This happened with my old headset (Plantronics Discovery 640) and my current headset (Jawbone). Has anyone else experienced this problem? If there was some way to adjust the delay for when the headset picks up, I think it would fix this problem because when pressing the key on the phone to answer there is a delay, but when pressing the button on the headset, there isn't.
Thanks...Brian
Hi all....might be a dumb question, but cant seem to find a answer, with the headset plugged in and listening to music while i work i sometimes take the headphones out of my ears whilst leaving the music playing, if i get a call at this point i do not hear it, is there a setting to allow incoming calls to still come through the loud speaker of the phone.....told you it was a dumb question but grateful of any help.
Cheers
Mat
Bump
Gonna bump this - would also like to know the answer to this...
short answer is no. Once the headset is plugged in every noise comes through it.
HTC TP2
WM Prof 6.1
TF3D turned off
I work in a cubicle and listen to music all day via headset. If I get a phone call, I pull out the headset and talk to the person. Once the call is over, my music blares though the speaker until I can quickly volumne it down to silent.
How can you turn off the speaker?
any ideas on on settings, procedures, software that will help solve my little problem?

try this:
just put your device volume to zero (not loudless). your headset should have an own volume changer...
maybe this works
it is also possible to simply complete your call while on your headset. Am assuming you are using the one that came with your phone. This would eliminate the need to unplug your headphones.
Anybody know why or how I can fix the ringer so that it always rings on the phone when a call comes through, I drive for a living and keep the headset plugged in constanly, when I get a call sometimes the ringer rings and sometimes it only rings in the headset and if I don't have the headset in my ear I miss the call, yes it does vibrate on all calls but I don't always feel it. I had 11 missed calls in the space of 30 minutes recently and am seriously considering getting rid of this phone unless I can get it sorted. Thanks for your help..
Nobody have an answer?
Hi xda,
I have an issue where during a phone call i hear brief moments of silence whilst the receiver hears beeping, this happens around every 15 seconds and the duration of silence lasts around 2 seconds, it takes a good 10 seconds for the call to hang up.
I've checked the head phone Jack it seems clean and can play back audio flawlessly.

For me sometimes when the headset is connected and I answer a call, there's no sound for a good 10-15 seconds and I keep saying "hello" like a retard and then I can hear the caller.
There is some sort of problem with headset compatibility for sure. Yesterday I was using this voice assistant called Skyvi with the headset attached, and after removing the headset my phone's mic wouldn't work at all! I had to restart to get my phone's mic working.
What I'm saying is there's a problem with headset detection or the software that makes the sound switch from the handset to the headset imo.
Further testing proves that this only happens when dialling out, not when the call Is incoming

Damn strange! It has happened on incoming calls for me for sure.
There was this another "retarded" thing the handsfree did when I first got the phone, on pressing the button(twice) to change the music track playing, it called the last contacted person. I kid you not, I happened to call two people like that. But never happened after that day.
I have the exact same problem with my HOX, I'm thinking it's a hardware issue, because I have tried different kernels (Franco, faux & stock) and different versions of Revolution ROM by Mike... My phones serial number begins with HT23RW...
This is when I use the handset aka. The phone itself without bluetooth or headphones connected...
