I think in "startup manager" you can add custom startup elements. But not for sure, you have to try...

How can I remove shortcuts from "All Programs"?

I'd like to remove some of the shortcuts in All Programs, on my HTC Desire. I never use Footprints or Peep for example. I'd ideally like to uninstall them but will be as happy to just delete the shortcut.
How can I do this? Do I have to Root the HTC Desire, before I can do this? Thanks
Yes, a way to hide apps from the sense launcher would be great
I dont think it is possible, yet.
A temp solution would be to create a folder and dump all the apps you want inside.

That wouldn't remove them from "All Programs" though, unless I'm missing something?
if you have rooted your phone you can use a program called vault
Thanks. It's a shame you have to root the phone. With Windows Mobile you've got access to everything without having to root.
Anyone? Or is rooting the only answer?

I'm now rooted. Where can I find this? Thanks.
Just use an alternate launcher like ADW. Then you can setup the app drawer any way you like. You can even have multiple settings. Not the only advantage btw.
Or use Titanium Backup. Worked fine for me.

Thanks but how will this help me reduce clutter in the App Drawer? I already use the excellent My Backup Pro btw .

Thanks. I've tried Launcher Pro Plus in the past and it's excellent but I still prefer HTC Sense plus Sense is already very good, so I'd prefer not to have the extra load (if I had to make do with rubbish like MotoBlur I would though). Hence the need for that app?
Hi; you use backup pro... Freeze the app U Donna want more... Only this

I'm pretty sure My Backup Pro doesn't support App Freezing. I've just installed Titanium (thanks Homerstar296, I see what you mean now) and it's root check annoyingly failed. I'm definitely rooted. Apparently I also need "BusyBox".
Is this safe to install/activate? I don't want to brick my phone obviously.
Just install busy box and it should work. No risk by installing that.

What part of 'All (!) Programs' is so hard to understand? They aren't shortcuts.

@ Ik Desire: You don't actually want me to reply to that do you?

[Q] Why com.htc.android.stock use my CPU?

The thread for Stockes : com.htc.android.Stock is using a lot of my CPU. I mean, 30/50%. I have removed all the quotation and set no update. So, why this application is still onsuming this CPU?
Am I the only one with this?
Go to settings, applications and try clearing the settings for the stocks app.

I'm facing the same problem with my HTC wildfire.... does anyone knows how to solve the problem? I'm not using this app at all...
Thanks
Well, for my side, I used Titanium backup to froze the application
Have you tried un-ticking the box for syncing Stock?
Settings - Accounts & Sync
Yes! and also remove all the quote and wiping data of this application.
And you removed the widget from the desktop (sorry, I don't mean to patronise but I myself know sometimes I miss the obvious).
Yes, of course. Freezing is the only working way for me.

The built-in HTC task manager, or some 3rd party app you installed? The built-in one is fine.
What ROM are you coming from, and did you wipe data?

Auto stop app?

Is there any app that can stop apps from auto running. In background I tried rom toolbox but it sucks when I disable apps in auto manager.
Any help?

I think this should be on Q&A, not sure.
Anyway, try Autostarts from Play Store.
You must search here:
https://play.google.com/store
Autostarts
Autostarts, it's a paid app in the play store. Amazing app! After a flash its my first app downloaded right after titanium backup
I also use Autostart, it is a great way to stop apps from auto-running in the background!
But wich Autostart ? On Google Playstore we have two apk: One from Michael Elsdörfer, and other from Cyberhorse.
Wich is right ?

i recommand using app called "fast reboot" its not auto but its a 1 click thing
also u can use the go launcher task manager
it has n auto stop option and also the one click thing that stops all running apps.
its great and im using it
no u dont need go launcher 2 run it
in my opinion u must not force close apps as it restarts and drain more battery.
android manages the background apps very efficiently

Disable Startup apps

Hi guys need help, is there any way to disable apps that are auto-starting when the phone is booting? It's annoying to see lots of apps running when my phone starts up...
I tried a lot of third party apps but none seemed to detect any startup items on my phone BUT THERE IS ACTUALLY MANY!
Help
Odp: Disable Startup apps
If you are rooted there are plenty of apps that can freeze or disable application autostart. If you're not rooted then I'm afraid you can't do much.

I have my bootloader unlocked and rooted... But still autostart manager apps can't detect any apps that startup at boot.
I use LBE Security Master, i got it from this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1909996
It can disable start up apps, as well as stop apps from using 3G, location etc, it's very good =D
