I want to know if i there any possibility to create a fast link to sms/mms on my screen today. I'm not use htc sense, but i want put link to sms/mms in today screen. If i selecet "messages" in the settings/today the link is related on e-mail and not to sms/mms.
Please halp me.
I think that is it possible working on the reg but i don't konw how.
not exactly a fix, but try doing a key remap. if u dont use the PTT button, set that to open up your messages. u can remap it to whatever. or remap any of the other hard buttons . its in the settings or something.

This is not a total solution either but you can configure WinMo to take you to the account chooser screen when you select messages. Then you'd be given a list of all your email accounts and SMS/MMS. So it's a two button solution I guess.
However, spend a little time searching on google, there are numerous Today plugins that might fit your needs out there.

when i click to messages, the unic link that i can select for today in my today option, it open a screen for the mail (mail configuration because i don't have do a configuration) and i can select only outlook, windows live, yahoo, I can't select sms/mms. why???
Sorry but before write i spent not one but more and more day on google to find a solution, and is for this reason that I arrived in this forum that i don't know before.

Normally, on the start-page, the date/time and text for the next "upcoming appointment" is displayed. 1 appointment (if any entered in the Calendar) is potentially visible.
BUT if you have three meetings right after each other, you can get an unpleasant surprise from forgotten meetings suddently appearing with no time to prepare - unless, that is, if you take the effort to go into the calendar function and check the next couple of days. But thats not practical.
Wouldn't it be nice if you could choose to display the next 1, 2 or 3 appointments (just 1 line each) REGARDLESS how many days before they occur - without having to enter the Calendar and click though the days?
IS THAT POSSIBLE????

Try CalendarPlus, it is fully configurable and mimics the traditional Calendar plugin very well!
I use tAgenda, a highly configurable Today plug-in, and am COMPLETELY satisfied with it. Also, IT'S FREE!

CalendarPlus displays a configurable amount of appointment, days, etc. on your today screen.

Strange, everything is working normally here...
However, if I remember correctly, there was some bug causing the list with plugins not showing all plugins if the list happens to bee "too large"
You can show a max of 9 plugins on one Today screen ... so ensure the number of "checked" plugins and the order as well
oops! ... this is on XDA I with 32 MB RAM ... not sure it's the same case with 64 MB or with XDA II
Did you select "Next Appointmnet" or "Upcoming Appointments" in the Setting>today>items>Calendar>Option
You may see a different message on the today screen as you want.

Thanks for the tip, BRosenow. I've just installed tAgenda and I agree - it's amazing. Very much more configurable than CalendarPlus, it seems.

My pleasure. And if you happen to be looking for a nifty Today plug-in program launcher, I can recommend TDLaunch. I have been using it for a couple of years on my iPaqs and it works well on my i-mate as well. What I like about both of these programs is their very small footprint.

after upgrading my Cingular 8525 to WM6 it is not that useful:
Left softkey: Delete
Right softkey: Menu
In effect, to create a new message I need to select Menu and then New.
Is it possible to assign New to the left softkey?

Nope, not if your talking about in the messages screen. You can, however, set a soft key on the today screen to New SMS.
this has been a problem since the leak of WM6, search around, can't remember if theres a solution or not because it doesn't bother me that much, most of the time i'm replying to texts.

Thanks for a quick answer. I have no idea why Microsoft decided that the typical action when going to Text Messages would be to delete a message and not write a new message. You may store hundreds of messages without noticing a dent in the available memory.
How to create a shortcut from the Today screen to New SMS or reassining one of the softkeys to this function?

Use softkey changer (attached). If it gives you the error "missing file tnsms" then drop the attached corresponding file in ur /windows folder.

The SoftKey.cab from the link in Karhu's post is the only thing needed. One item on the list of commands to assign to a softkey on the Today screen is "New SMS". Works perfectly.
If you do not mind one more tap you can also use WM5 New Menu - provides more options than just new SMS.

I would like to know if it is possible to change the application that is launched when the sms, email or calls are pressed.
For example, I use Flexmail that may be used to process all messages (sms and etc.) I use this application as the default mail program, but when i press the mentioned buttons above the Poutlook is run.
Is it possible to change the applications assigned to these buttons?

Maybe it's possible with HHC (HTC Home Customizer), that can be found elsewhere on this forum. Otherwise I'd look in the registry at
HKLM\Software\HTC if you can find if any programs are assigned to those icons. Try to find poutlook.exe?
i'm pretty sure you can not with the htc home customer v1.0 final. also could not find anything in HKLM\Software\HTC either.

If you hex-edit the dll, you can see that the buttons are hard-coded to run tmail.exe. But that does give me an idea....

Just found another problem with my TP2. I want to move some files to another location but I cannot select multiple files in File Explorer by draging the stylus to highlight them.
Is this behaviour by design or is there a bug on my device?

I also was looking for this solution.
And indeed, it works.
But it introduces another problem: To switch between your mail account, you can swipe from left to right.
But after this patch, that doesn't work anymore
So I've put the old setting back.

It's in the messaging app, not in manilla.
When you're in the messaging app, and you move your finger from left to right, it toggles between the configured mail accounts.
In mine TP2 for example: Outlook - Gmail - SMS (and then it starts over with Outlook.)
And although my provider is TMO, I have an unbranded Touch Pro2 WWE edition.

Just for info, in wm6.5, we can swipe to switch between tab (iehone settings). So it cause a side effect in messaging.

Indeed, that's a problem.
The Xperia I had recognized if you are using the finger or the stylus. When using the finger the application scrolls and when using the stylus you can draw a frame to multiselect items.
Maybe that's possible with the TP2 too?

Surely by disabling that reg key you're pretty much switching touchflo off?
So scrolling of anything in any WM apps (contacts, text messages, emails, calendar entries) will no longer work without using the scroll bar?
I just checked stock shipped Raphael (SEA 20764) OEMDrivers rgu, the value is set to 1 by default. And yes, messaging still scrollable to switch email account
I can still left< >right scroll between email accounts after this tweak.

after this tweak can you make a zoom to photos with stylus or rotate photos...????
You mean in photo albums? I have never been able to do either, even before the tweak.
I can double tap the image to enlarge it, or use the slider at the bottom of the screen to zoom in.
In any case, the inability to group files together in File Explorer is more of an issue for me than being able to rotate a photo (can always turn the phone 90 degrees instead), and the registry tweak has fixed that.
Very strange, just tried it again: With the patch --> no swiping, undoing the patch --> swipings works.
Too bad, I'd loved to have the best of 2 worlds like Mesquire...

The easy way to select multiple files in Explorer is the Windows way of selecting multpile files. Just press CRTL on your keyboard (you have one ) en select the files you want... It's Windows isn't it?

so weird! My TP2 suddenly lost it even with this set to 1
already tried rebooting: still nada.
UPDATE:
on further investigation, I found I can select multiple files only in some folders, e.g., root directory of the storage card, My wallpapers, Templates, files and folders directly under My Device, Application Data, Program Files...
but not files directly under My Documents, whether under My Device or storage card

The only way to have the ability to select multiple files in any folder AND keep left< >right scroll to switch email accounts is to set the it to 1, but not reboot. If I reboot with it set to 1, it behaves like the above.
Right now I have decided to set to 1 only when I need to select multiple files with the stylus, and change it back to 0 thereafter, or before a reboot. What a pain!

but I prefer doing in portrait - if I open the keyboard to use its CTRL key, the screen switches to landscape mode.

I just picked up my MDA Vario V and noticed that some things seem to be missing compared to the normal TP2
-TF3D2 style notification bubbles
-New notification manager
-Facebook upload feature
-Option to disable the icon screen you get when clicking on the taskbar.
Is there a way to fix this through cabs, or do I need to wait for HardSPL to come out and flash a new rom?

main reason why i stay clear of t-mobile branded stuff! they just can't help themselves can they? also phone will be locked to their network i bet! t-mobile is a good network but the murder these phones. sorry to see some stuff is missing but there may be hope for you in the blackstone forum! just have a look in there

This should get facebook working...
Do the following 3 reg edits...
HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\
1. Facebook.Disable (Set the DWORD to 0)
2. Manila://people\browserlayer\peopleupdate.page.hidden (Set the DWORD to 0)
3. Manila://PeopleDetail\peopleView.page.hidden (Set the DWORD to 0)
Then do a soft reset of the device and it should work
Thanks for your help. But it does not work On the one hand now you can go on "Me" (contact card) and can see the facebook button at the bottom (it wasn't there before changing the registry settings). But by trying to start the "app" nothing happens. it's like a block..

What is it you're trying to start? When you are in "People", can you not go to "Updates" and link to a facebook profile?

I think so. I've got the german device, so I don't really know how the tabs are named on the english one. But I think I know what you mean. So I think normally you should have some kind of an "action" button for each contact where you can see the facebook status, etc.? I haven't got this tab. My tabs for each contact are: Details (with all numbers and adresses,etc); sms messaging, e-mail and phone history

I got the MDA Vario 5 as well. To my delight, it wasnt sim-locked.
So far, not much missing or added to the phones ROM by TMobile.
They have some Web n Walk stuff added as an 'Internet' tab and like the other guy mentioned, some notification stuff is missing.

i don't have TP2, just TP1, but I am solving this problem too...i have a ported version of TF3D2 without facebook integration, but I was able to get it working.
I've attached all files that I needed for FB integration. Some files are hidden..
Copy only those manila files that are not included in your ROM.
Maybe the only needed file will be FacebookSDK.dll
copy all needed to \Windows\ folder...
hope I helped a bit
PS: you also have to make registry edit mentioned before.

No, I do not have this screen But after copying some files (incl. the FacebookSDK.dll) out of the fb.zip I got the following:
My own contact-card (screen2)
Contact-Card of a contact in "view-mode" (screen1) --> "Events-Tab" is missing
Contact-Card of a contact in "edit-mode" (screen3)
If I want to link a contact with a foto, I get screen4 --> After choosing "Facebook-Profil" I get the list with all my facebook contacts (screen5)
Edit: Sorry, the attached thumbnails aren't in the right order. So: "Screen2" is the first one, "Screen1" is the last, "Screen3" is the fourth, "Screen 4" is the third and "Screen5" is the second one.
I did not have any of these "facebook-links" in my TF3D-menus before.
Does anybody have an idea how to fix the problem with the events-tab ?
