AT & T Tilt 2 Windows Mobile 6.5 changing the lock time. - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Alright, go ahead and beat me if I missed it, but after 5 days of looking through hundreds of pages here on XDA about the Tilt 2, I have not been able to find what I am looking for.
Here is what I have.
HTC AT&T Tilt 2 Stock Rom and all. Only a few games installed, and various applications installed.
I have tried going in to the registry & changing the values for the length of time, but it still locks the phone after 5 minutes of inactivity. While I DO like the auto lock feature of Windows Mobile 6.5, the short amount of time it gives me kinda blows. Maximum of 5 minutes before I have to slide & re input my code. I also want it so that when the device is plugged into my computer that it does not auto lock.
Other then this one thing, I am really happy with the device. Too bad that my Parrot Rythm-N-Blue doesn't want to pair with it on blue tooth, but I've been wanting to get the wife to let me get a new car stereo any ways. Compared to my wife's iPhone, I like my Tilt 2 MORE and MORE each day.

Go to the settings screen and tap the lock button. You should find the time adjustment there. I've forgotten where you go stop it from locking while charging or connected to the computer.

I've done that, the check mark to turn it off is greyed out so I can't uncheck it.
In the time settings it give me options of 0 minutes, 1 minute, or 5 minutes, that's it. I've gone into the registry and found the entry that shows the time, I've changed that to a value above 5 minutes, and it still only goes for 5 minutes then locks back up as normal. I'm guessing that there is yet another or several other values that I need to change.
No, I don't want to install S2U2. I have that on my AT&T Tilt 1. With all the settings on it to as minimal as possible, the S2U2 would burn through my battery in a matter of 3 hours.

UPDATE
Alrighty it's time for an update.
Having been sick of the 5 minute screen time out from the exchange securities system, I set out to try to find a way to get around or fix it so that I could have longer times then the 5 minute maximum that they have set.
Here is what I had to do to get my times adjusted.
First off UNLOCK the registry of the TP, Rhodium, Tilt 2 (which ever flavor is yours), and reboot. YEAH it sucks but ya gotta.
Second off you need to edit the following keys to your registry.
* Inactivity time
o HKLM\Comm\Security\Policy\LASSD\AE\{50C13377-C66D-400C-889E-C316FC4AB374}\AEFrequencyType: 0 = No inactivity time; 1 = Activity time enable
o HKLM\Comm\Security\Policy\LASSD\AE\{50C13377-C66D-400C 889E-C316FC4AB374}\AEFrequencyValue: number of minutes before timeout
o HKLM\Comm\Security\LASSD\CodeWordFrequency: Set Dword to 30
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Security\Policy\LASSD\AE\{50C13377-C66D-400C-889E-C316FC4AB374} AEFREQUENCY VALUE Dword = 30
* Password strength
o Minimum number of characters: HKLM\Comm\Security\Policy\LASSD\LAP\lap_pw\MinimumPasswordLength
o Password complexity: HKLM\Comm\Security\Policy\LASSD\LAP\lap_pw\PasswordComplexity: 0 = Require Alphanumeric; 1 = Require numeric (PIN); 2 = No restriction
* Wipe settings
o Number of failed attempts before all your information will go: HKLM\Comm\Security\Policy\LASSD\DeviceWipeThreshold: -1 = disabled; other failed attempts
o Number of failed attempts before displaying codeoword: HKLM\Comm\Security\Policy\LASSD\CodewordFrequency: number of failed attempts
While the last 2 which are more about clearing the data from your phone if you input the wrong password too many times, they do NOT really have to be edited, they are just there for your desires.
With the above changes and a reboot of my device, I now have it so that I can go in to the phone and if you follow the next steps you SHOULD see what I have in mine now.
Start -> Settings -> Lock ->(Input your lock code) then press unlock then where the grayed out check mark is there is the line to change the time values. You should have everything from 0 minute, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1.5 hours, 2 hours, 12 hours & 24 hours.
If you do, then you have successfully changed the values that you needed to and can now choose a time frame for the device to demand your code input after x minutes / hours of time inactive.
I hope that this helps others that were like me and didn't mind the lock screen of the exchange server settings, but did mind the short amount of time that it gives you to be "idle" from the device.
So far so good, I set my Tilt 2 lock settings to 1 hour, and timed it, at 59 minutes & 59 seconds my screen went to the "slide to unlock" screen, and requested my pin #. Apparently I missed a second somewhere.

Thanks! It works on my Touch HD WM 6.5 rom. my original setting is 15 mins, which is too annoying. Now it's much better!

wifi timeout

can somebody tell me how to increase timeout value - the settings menu goes up only to 5 mins.
Use your favorite registry editor and set HKLM\Comm\tiacxwln1\Parms\HTCAutoOffTimeout to your desired timeout value (in milliseconds).
i've set that key to 900000 (15 mins), rebooted, but wifi still times out after a couple of minutes ...
Try the same trick with HKLM\Comm\tiacxwln1\Parms\HTCPowerSaveTimeout. The first one is the timeout you set in the WLAN Settings tab; i.e. how long the WiFi should be on if it can't connect. This one should specify how long a connection can be inactive but still connected.
WiFi Always Active, Does not timeout
Is there a way to keep the wifi always on, even when you tap the power button to shut the screen off and lock the device? My phone doesn't have signal in the school I work in, so what I am trying to do is use a program like VeriChat for teachers and administrators to get ahold of me. We have wireless (802.11G) throughout the whole school. Battery life is not a concern to me becase I shut the wifi off when im not using it and I plan to have a spare battery to swap with the one I use while at work.
Any suggestions would be helpfull. Will the above reg hack work?

Is there a TiltBacklightFix cab for the Tilt2?

Hi. I've been having an issue with the backlight not retaining its setting when the phone is powered down and powered back up again. The backlight reverts back to the 10-second setting, meaning that it dims after ten seconds as opposed to any other adjustment that I attempt to make. Yesterday, I came across a TiltBacklightFix cab intended for the original Tilt phone. Is there one available yet for the Tilt 2? Does anyone know when or how I would be able to get this? Thanks for the help. (I asked this question in another thread, so I apologize for the repeat; it's just that I'm not sure if those threads are still being checked by anyone. It's a frustrating issue that I'm trying to resolve!)
It seems that when the Tilt comes out of standby or power off, the system sets HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight back to 8 seconds. I've created a reg file to set this to 2 minutes (120 seconds). Although not automatic, I created a link to the reg file and add it to my start menu, so its 2 clicks to set back while I'm utilizing the device.

Thanks for the help. I'll give this a try. Have a great night.

Screen Dims (changing settings doesn't help)

I have a Tilt 2, so does my Wife and my Father. This is the 3rd HTC device i've had (mogul, diamond). This setting should be pretty easy.
So my Dad is complaining about the screen dimming really quickly, I change the settings to 2 min. seems to work well for a while. Then he tels me it's still doing it. I check his settings and its back to 10 sec. we go through this a couple of more time, I'm thinking he is changing it and doesn't know it.
So we just turn off the dim feature (on battery) Today he says it's still doing it, we check his settings and the dim feature is turned off, still! but i saw it go dim after 7-10 secs.
Any ideas? Am i missing a setting, i have done mine and my wifes with no problems.
does he have his backlight on auto adjust?

Probably, but i have never see such a dramatic change with the auto adjust. it doesn't seem to matter how much light there is. and it's consistantly 7 to 10 seconds.
I tried the at&t "chat" help, they were worthless.
maybe try turning it off. maybe need to do a soft reset on the side of phone.
we turned it off (unchecked it) but it still dims the backlight, never seen anything like it, i will try the soft reset tomorrow. hopefully that will work!
I had the same issue...
I created a reg file to manually fix. What is happening is when the device wakes up from screen sleep or changing from external to battery power, WM6.1 changes this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight\BatteryTimeout to 8 (seconds in hex).
I used my reg file and added to my start menu (you could also assing to a hardware button if you have the right tools), and run it when the device sets it to 8 seconds. Its a couple of clicks, but less then navigating to the UI settings.
The reg file is set for 2 minutes. Edit as you wish, but keep in mind you need to convert the seconds to hex.
Send it Back!!
The AT&T folks said to send it back (its still within the 30 days) Dad also told me that the speaker sounds funny, i really didn't believe him, thought it was just "different" from his old Razor.
So we tried it i used his phone and called him using mine, dang if it didn't sound funny!
So i am on the phone getting another sent!!
Thanks for helping!

Anyone have these two bugs

On stock 4.0.4, 2.17.401.2:
1: in the stock Clock app->Timer,my reset button doesn't set the timer back to 0:0:0, it sets it back to 1hr 5min 02 secs. I've tried a restart to no avail.
2: My stock calendar app has a "default reminder time" of none yet every new appointment I set sets a 10 minute reminder.
Well the timer would have no point at being set to 0.0.0?
Else what would you be timing?
I think the timer resets to whatever you set it at last time you timed something e.g. you set the timer at 1 minute, it counts down to 30 seconds and then you click reset, it will return to 1 minute.
As for the calendar app, the reminder is meant to be 10 minutes, so everything seems in order?
I'm sure the timer used to reset to 0, hence the term "reset". It doesn't even go back to the last timer I set, seems to be random.
And no, the default isn't 10 minutes, the default is what you set as the default in the app - whatever I set it to, all new appointments have a reminder time of 10 minutes.
Edit: realised I didn't have "all calendars" selected in the calendar settings so the default reminder listed didn't apply. In this case the default reminder is indeed 10 minutes.
I'm still sure the timer should reset to zero however.
I think your missing the point, the stop watch should reset to zero yes, as that counts up from 0 to something.
Wereas the timer, you want it set at something, to count DOWN to zero. (for baking cookies etc? )
The term "Reset" doesnt have anything to do with taking it back to zero, it resets it to the default value.
Which is why I said the timer should reset to whatever you previously had it timed at.
But it resetting to a random value like 1 hour 5 mins 2 seconds as you stated is a different issue.
Hope I helped
Maybe - I'm just sure it used to go back to zero. Thanks anyway. I can live with it - just glad I got to the bottom of the calendar thing.

Notifications preferences reset automatically each day

I have changed my preferences on settings>Notifications >watsapp to high importance with sound so that I no longer receive a message preview in a balloon. It works all day however every morning wake up to it having reset itself to urgent which then allows pop up messageson screen.
How can I save these settings without them having being reset everyday. Many thanks
Interesting, I'm actually finding a few things that aren't saving persistently, though I thought they were related to Bluetooth or my car.
Specifically, my car (2017 Challenger with Uconnect) asks about message permissions almost every time it connects, and smartlock asks me if I want to save the device each time. Additionally, I notice the screen timeout settings default back to 15 seconds when I was set at 1 minute.
I'm also plugged into Android Auto when this is happening. So there's a lot of variables. Just posting here so we can see if others have common issues.
