take 720p video? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

is the tp2 able to take 720p video? im sure the camera can handle it. the resolution is high enough. is the hardware good enough to support taking it?
i dont see why it cant be done since there is a panorama tweek to increase the resolution. so is there something to just edit in the registry?

That is 3 times as many pixels, so I doubt it has the power to encode that in real time. It has its hands full just decoding a 480p MP4 for playback.

Wow I don't know... I mean.... reall...ahh... seriously?
Answer is just NO, not possible.
The reason panorama hack works is that you take many pictures and stitch them together resulting in a higher resolution image than the camera can take.
Same thing as taking multiple printed photos, arranging them to align on your desk and taping them together. You can make a poster bigger than what your printer can print on one single page.
Rhodium can't even take a proper video at full resolution. The processing power is just not there. I mean use your brain. It takes couple seconds just take a picture. And videos coming out of the phone are way lower res & compressed like hell. The sensor and lens could get better video, but shooting so many frames a second it just does not have the power to process that video. Technically it would be possible to shoot some kind of raw image sequence, but then I am confident the speed of memory and saving to the card would not handle the amount of images taken.
But what are you thinking making threads like this? Did you think for a second? I get not understanding technical things. But you think developers, users and HTC themselves would not do it if it was possible? WTF

Yup, it's right next to the registry setting to enable the Core i7 co-processor and radioisotope battery.
Damn HTC and their crappy defaults.

If you set the dinoset value to "1," you're phone will also turn into a dinosaur.

Don't worry, the Touch Pro 3 is going to look like this

lol jdog that was exactly what i was going to state last night but just thought the mods would have seen it....
im trying it
hey guyys i download this but i dont like the colors of the camera i was messing with them but i cant get what i want and it record video very well at 320*240 with the phone overclocked to 255 if anybody knows a way to make the colors look good please post here
I've been using CoolCamera for a little while now. I have figured out that in order to have everything displayed ok you have to have the following settings set:
For Orientation:
Settings>Orientation: PORTRAIT
Settings>Advanced Settings>Rotation: 90L
For correct image colors:
Settings>Advanced Settings>Pixel Order: REVERSED
As far as quality goes, editing that is pretty self-explanitory (based on what you want).
However i do have a problem with this software. The image is cropped. When I take a picture it shows what the whole picture is, but the preview before i take the picture is much more zoomed in. Also, when the zoom level is at 100%, that is the maximum zoom because when (in 640x480 mode) i zoom in to 200%, it seems to have zoomed OUT.
Any solutions to any of these problems? Maybe an alternate program to use?

1. Smart focus area selection
Simply draw some lines inside a focus area and the background, then AfterFocus will automatically recognize the focus area. You can also select the area with traditional finger painting.
2. Background Blur effect
You can create the most realistic blur effect with various aperture styles just like DSLR camera.
To emphasize that certain things move, Motion blur effect is also available.
3. Filter effect
AfterFocus offers from basic effects to professional effects like Cross Process without looking artificial.
Also, you can emphasize the spot light on the background using Bokeh effect.
4. Double photo (Pro version only)
Take a picture of one object and move slightly to the right to take another picture of the same object, and it will analyze the images and recognize the nearest object, so there is no need to draw the focus area.
(Make sure that the background and the distance of the object are far enough and have clear texture to get a great result.)
5. Easy share
You can share through e-mails and SNS easily and simply.

GET THIS AMAZING APP HERE
Interface
When you launch the app, you get a menu system that lets you choose
one of four options: capture, gallery, collage and share. Diving into each,
the UI is generally what you'd expect. The buttons are self-explanatory,
and you get a regular phone camera-style viewfinder.
Filters
PowerCam offers a decent set of filters, most of which are a bit too over-the-top
for my own taste. You get a standard set of minor filters to lightly tweak the coloring
of the scene that are quite nice, but the rest are a bit out there and I really don't
see many people using them. For the ones that I liked, it seemed to work well enough.
It should also be noted that there is a "no filter" mode for when you have the app open
and want a "regular" shot.
Tilt-Shift
The tilt-shift method, if you're not familiar, is something usually accomplished with
a special camera lens to produce interestingly focused images. The main subject
is sharply in focus, and everything else is quickly out of focus right next to it.
On a smartphone, its all done in post-processing. PowerCam seems to do a pretty
good job, and you can really get some good shots if you spend some time with it.
Panorama
I was surprised by the panorama quality. Using the app on my Galaxy Nexus,
it captured them more consistently and much quicker than the built-in panorama
feature of the Android 4.x camera.
Collages
Something that's going to be very user-dependent is the collage feature.
You can select several pictures you've taken and form them into framed multi-shot pictures.
The UI is friendly enough, just select from your picture list which ones you want,
and it'll arrange them randomly with a frame. You can shuffle the pictures around
and select the frame style, but I was hard-pressed to find frames that I actually enjoyed.
Sharing
PowerCam has built-in sharing functionality to Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr.
Wish that it would use a regular sharing menu and let you use other apps (like Google+),
but it doesn't really matter, as you can share from your Gallery app to anything installed
on your phone after the fact.

Why does the shutter button look like the one on iPhone? In fact, why bother making an Android camera app that completely rips off the iphone camera app's interface?

[Q] Tempted to get an M8, have camera concerns with scanning using CamScanner

I'm tempted to get an M8, it really seems like a solid and overall great device.
However, the camera did raise my concerns.
I don't take a lot of pictures, but when I do - it's usually in class. Either of the whiteboard (sometimes from the back of the class) or (more often) I scan notes of others using CamScanner (I use CamScanner A LOT, I capture at least 50 pages a week, and need them to turn out clear and readable).
Both types of pictures require zooming in on them to have things readable, which is what I aim to achieve (and the clearer the text, the better, obviously).
I couldn't care less about taking pictures at night, with low-night, with extra light, with HDR or whatever. All I want from my phone's camera is to do the two tasks above well.
Does anyone have any experience with using CamScanner in class for taking notes? If so, I would be most grateful if you could upload some sample PDF you took so I can see what the quality is like.
I use camscanner all the time and it ends up looking fine and I would upload but they're in pdf's

Could you maybe upload it to something like Mega? If XDA doesn't allow uploading PDFs.
You can also press Share in CamScanner (while in a scan) and from there upload to Google Drive/Dropbox/Any other app on your phone that supports saving files. Any of those would be great.
Bump.
Sorry for bumping, but I want to buy the device this weekend (my current phone is giving my tons of crap lately), and still didn't find any answer about this topic, if someone could help out that would be most appreciated.
I take pictures of text a lot (printed and handwritten notes) and the pictures are perfectly sharp, once you zoom in, the sharpness is very slightly less, but it is still super easy to read. For pictures of a whiteboard from the back of the class, you need to look elsewhere, this camera is hopeless in that category
Edit: will delete this comment later. Apparently you can't delete a commend from the mobile app.

I'm not sure whether tapatalk compresses images though..
Edit:the image is definitely compressed, I'll give you a db link :
That's somewhat OK, I think, but my notes scanning are usually of one's with a smaller font (by far).
Not sure how well it'll work with the M8.
A PDF from CamScanner will be the final judge though.

Blurry photos with same shot settings (infinity focus)

I've a problem with Camera and i want to know if it's for all G4 or for only my sample.
When i take photos with same setting (infinity manual focus), some time (most of all) they have blurry effect.
Two photos with same manual setting taken in the same moment:
View attachment 4147170
View attachment 4147171
Apparently they have same definition, but if i 100% crop:

}
Most of the photos i take have blurry effect, just some time they result perfect. The difference is more notable in landscape photos (with infinity focus) in the top left corner.
Do you have same problem?
up
You can't take pictures holding the camera and not encounter some movement, it's not physically possible and even with the OIS enabled that's just a stop-gap measure that does it's best to make sure the effects of slight jarring movement at the moment you press the button to take the picture are mitigated as much as possible.
tl;dr You're moving the camera if you're holding it, plain and simple.
Take pictures with the phone either set against something so you're not holding it and the phone is actually as steady as it can possibly be - use the voice command option to fire the shutter (turn it on and say "LG" or "Kimchi" or one of the other choices") so you don't have to manually touch the G4 at all to any degree whatsoever and then fire off a few shots and compare them.
The OIS isn't perfect and if you're timing a shot with a movement of the camera you're bound to get blurriness - the only absolutely sure way of getting steady crystal clear shots is shooting from a steady mount on a tripod or with the phone standing against a solid object and using the voice command to trigger the shutter.
OIS was reall invented to help as much as it can because most pics are taken while holding the camera and no human being is getting going to be able to be perfectly motionless in that respect. If you're holding the smartphone, period, in any position for any reason, you're moving it and your images will suffer because of it even with OIS working as well as it can.
Thanks for the answer, the problem is not the movement of the phone while shooting. I did several tests with tripodi and bluetooth remote control and the result did not change.
From various tests I've made I noticed that the problem only occurs when the focus is made with the tap on the display. Leaving focus continuos the possibility to take clear photo Is greater
