Hello to All
As you noted, the version TT7.915.9196
includes that can navigate to pictures GEO Tagg
With this guide, you can use the function without having to use HTC FootPrint:
Create a folder named GEO-PHOTOS in ROOT
your SD
Open your camera and take a picture with the "GPS Photo"
Copy your photos in the GEO-PHOTOS
Start the TT7.915, navigate to ... and your picture will appear!
This all works on my HTC HD and it works
To find your photo, if you have to save the picture in SD,
out by the function of the camera, you will find the photos in My Document / My POI
That's very interesting. Should be usefull, but still there is no posibility to save current position.

wow - works like a charm, thank you very much
Perhaps worth mentioning for the uninitiated that (I presume) you will need to have GPS Photo enabled in the registry to be able to take those pictures in the first place.

I have Blackstone and Raphael.
Navigate to picture is cool but I have all my business client adresses and often service there computers.

Dear alesscam,
I have installed TT7.915 successfully on my HD. It works fine. Gets GPS fix quicker than TT7.10. I am keen to get the geo-photo function working.
I did not use the cab file to install, but copied all the files into the existing Navigator folder (from TTV7.910 install). Could I have a missing registry entry?
I have followed your guide and created a GEO-PHOTOS in the root of the HD memory.
I have GPS Photo enabled via HD Tweak.
I made sure that the GPS was on and had a fix prior to taking a photo with the on board camera.
I copied the photo to the GEO-PHOTOS folder.
Started TT and went to navigate to - Photos.
tapped the icon. No photo is displayed.
What am I doing wrong?
You mention SD. Exactly what are you referring to?
When I look at the folder where the photo is, it contains my photo as well as a file called thumbs_geo.dat I think this the geo code data required by TT to locate the picture on its map.
Thank you for sharing and looking forward to your help.
Best wishes,
David

Not sure if you got it working already. You are suppose to create the folder in ROOT of your memory card and not HD memory.

Big Thanks!
it works on my Xperia X1
I have found myself looking for work and am using my Desire when and where I can to apply for jobs. However, one problem I am facing is that I cant upload my CV to job sites using my fone. I have put my CV on my memory card and was hoping that I could upload it like a PC. Instead, I just see "Uploads Disabled". Is there any app or anything I can do to enable Uploads?. I have changed the browser to "full internet", instead of "mobi" in the settings menu.

Try a different browser
Nope. Will be possible when (if) we get upgraded to Froyo.
It's in Froyo? thats great news. I like the default browser, but this is the one problem/issue I have with it. Cannot upload files on forums due to no system browser. I don't like the other browsers.
I came across the same dilemma a few days back. Sadly, there was no real fix and the only alternative currently was to use the Dropbox Android app (which doesn't work well and is very limited). It worked for me due to my focus being on multimedia. It doesn't handle text files and it doesn't allow a direct file upload through it to elsewhere. You do get the option to provide a direct download link to a file you uploaded though.

are there any news on this ???? is froyo bringing uploads to default apps????
I am running the Defrost rom on my Desire and I was able to upload a photo to my tumblr account using the web page form, so it seems it is working in Froyo.
try uploading something to rapidshare...like a zip file....if you can it's fixed then
i can not view my pictures gallery not working help
Sent from my MSM using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
I'll reiterate this question along with the following details if it helps:
Using the 7/21 BLAZIN release with the overclocking bit removed from startup, on a UK Rhodium.
Opening Gallery gives me the message "No Media Found."
O/I File Manager can browse anywhere on my SD card, though other system messages (I can't remember where) suggest my SD card is not mounted.
I tend to store pictures in /Pictures/ under the root of my SD card.
Thanks for any help!
Try going to settings > wallpaper > Pictures and see if it starts recognizing your SD card after that. Should fix you being able to go into gallery the normal way through the app menu.
Didn't work for me, unfortunately. In fact, my inability to set wallpapers this way is what prompted me to post.
I thought that this was one of the known issues

Glad you got it working man. I dont get that bug, so I had no way to troubleshoot for you guys.
Unfortunately this didn't work for me either!
I tried putting in pictures into all sorts of places in winmo:
/My Pictures/
/My Documents/
/My Documents/My Pictures/
/My Documents/My Pictures/Pictures/ (lol)
Gallery didn't detect any of them. But in the stickied thread Reefer you were talking about using a different Gallery in this build? So is it a fundamentally different Gallery than in the 2.1 builds? Or are you saying the Reference and BLAZIN builds contain different Gallery software? Getting slightly confused, but it's ok. I'm sure the problem will go away on its own eventually.
Is there any way to keep contacts merged after flashing a new rom?
I've tried making back ups threw titanium and still won't stay merge it restore them all separated
Problem is that since they have different names on Facebook for example. The built in "join " won't pick them up
Sorry if the solution is very easy I'm fairly new with rooting and well I was a little pampered with HTCs link up system
ever tried to simply backup contacts to sd card via standard function in contacts-app (.vcf file)?
edit: google-sync doesn't work either?
No no I haven't I didn't know the nexus had that options still ...since its SD card less but
Will that keep them merged?? Never really used it on past android phones because they were always HTC phones lol

That won't help.
And to my knowledge, you really can't.
Contacts with the same first and last name should merge.
Maybe work on getting all of those the same.
And add a "nickname" line for whatever you wanted to search for them by.
to be honest, i don't know if it will keep them merged, but worth a try.
simply go into contacts-app and press menu, there you'll find something like "import/export", if you then choose export to sd card (or sthg like that), it will create a file on your (internal) sd card. save this to your pc or cloud and replace and import it when necessary...
to come back to google sync, are you using that? i guess this should work, but never had that problem...
I just exported it to SD card (virtual ) and well im wondering if I import it to Google contacts if it will do it since the names and emails will be on there now
I'm gonna try after I get of work thanks for the suggestions guys
How to avoid losing Photo Date Grouping in Gallery?
Or, is this question better stated as "How do I keep all file properties (creation date, modification date etc.) when copying photos to a new (e.g., larger) micro SD card?
Here is my scenario -
I am getting a new Micro SD card and a holder to plug it into the bottom of the phone. Once I insert that, and the phone recognizes it -
1. *Copy everything from the old card to the new card.
2. Turn off phone, pop out the sim tray and swap the new card into it.
*The date is reset - how do I stop this?
Thoughts?
Shouldn't be a problem
There's an application I use on my laptop that can read the dates and copy it across the other date in batches. I do it every time I move phones as copying changes at least some of the data.

It is a problem, that is why I posted this, all the dates on every file is reset to the current date and time when it was copied. So now my gallery is a mess.... Help!

This happens to me every time I get a new device and copy my pics across using a PC. Something gets lost in the translation when put back on to Android... The EXIF tag can sometimes be used if it's stored in the image file to correct the file data. There's apps for this you could try. I haven't bothered in a long time as I just live with it now but it's super annoyingly stupid that it happens.
Never had this issue. I always copy/move my files with Solid Explorer

I use EXIF Date Changer first, that sets the EXIF data to whatever date is in the filename, make sure to untick the checkbox that amends the filenames. Once that's done I use BulkFileChanger to set all the EXIF data to match what has been set by EXIF Date Changer. They're both pretty self-explanatory if you're even vaguely competent
Best to do all this with the files on the SD card and mounted onto your laptop otherwise you're going to have the same issues as soon as you copy them from your laptop back to the SD card. If you need any help then give me a shout.

Is there anyway to do this after you do the transfer the jpeg on Android? It suspect my Canon PC app could do as the date is still correct on the jpeg but stupid Android doesn't reference it. None of my Android gallery apps do. Very irritating.
Been casually searching for a fix as I now have thousands of juxtaposed jpegs... perfect.

From computer to phone when reloading. Not using a backup app, direct transfer.
So the last date modified is the same on all the jpegs in that unloaded folder.
Sort by date and sort by name fails miserably to restore their original sequential order.

I keep my pictures on an SD card so I can do the fixes on the card, in my laptop. I'm not sure if you can manipulate the images on the phone directly with the apps I've said with the phone plugged in, I've never tried it.

Going to export the whole mess to Windows.
Canon software can rename the jpegs in batch mode.
Just pisses me that it can't be easily done on the stupid Android.
I rarely dredge out the laptop... except to support Android.
