Upgrade ROM from SD Card - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hi all,
Is it possible to flash a device from SD Card ?
How to proceed ?
Can I save RUU and .NBF files on SD card and after start the device, run the RUU ?
My device is not USB connecting (Suyncronize and battery charge) after flashed a WM 6.5 ROM, so no comunication with PC, then I thought flash another ROM from SD Card, once device is running.
Tks,
Cássio

some devices support it
click XDA-Wiki on the titlebar
and find your device and look what and how or if it's don on the device you own

Can't reliably connect with my device after Upgrading ROM

I upgraded my T-Mobile with PPC 2002 to the WM 2003 final ROM cooked in Lumpi Stephan's kitchen.
Ever since then, if I try and deploy a Visual Studio.Net application to the device, it more often then not says it can not establish a connection with the device, even though Active Sync is connected and synched up.
This problem is preventing me from trying to put on another ROM via USB craddle using Jeff's OSIMage Tool.
I do understand I can use an SD card to upgrade the ROM, however that doesn't solve the connection problems.
Does anyone have any idea why I'd be getting this error and any suggestions on how to fix it?
Thanks for your help in advance!
Have you tried flashing with sd card using xdatools and nbf file with sd memory card?
how do I use the SD card?
I just ordered a card to see if I can resolve this issue....
Here is my scenario. I don't have a SD card reader on my computer. But I do have two PPC's - one that is working with Active sync and XDATools recognizes, and one that XDATools isn't seeing though Active Sync IS seeing it.
Can I use XDATools to put the ROM on my desktop to the SD card that is inserted into my working PPC, then put the SD card into my half-assed working PPC and install it somehow (of how to do that I am clueless)?
Suggestions? Answers?
Thank you much
You need to download a rom and choose sd card flashing at the base of screen before flashing, you will then unzip the downloaded file, you will have an nbf file, this file will be used by xdatools to program the sd card in the card reader on your pc, When using xdatools, choose the nbf file as source and choose the sd card in the reader from the drop down menu under destination, once it is programmed you insert the card to the phone, push reset while holding power, push centre of 4 way rocker switch when prompted, once finished push once in hole below headset socket, wait one minute and push once more, your phone should now reboot with the new rom.

How to upgrade HTC Wizard ROM using SD Card?

Does anybody know if I can upgrade my HTC Wizard ROM to WM6 using my SD card? My USB port was broken and I am unable to connect USB to ActiveSync. I have seen a thread to do that using XDATools but I could not do it. Would you please help me to do flash my ROM using SD Card? Thanks.
Well its possible to backup the present rom onto a sdcard and in times of need can be re flashed back to the phone again, but to flash altogether a new rom on a sdcard and flash to the phone is not possible.
There's,however, a slight chance,if you can get hold of a phone similar to your with same specifications (make & model) and it has wm6 installed on it,make an sdcard backup of that rom and insert the card in your phone and try to flash,it might work.Just a brainwave

Is it bricked?

Hello, i have searched on this forum and haven't found a way to solve my problem:
I flashed HTC_HERMES_S64_WM_6.1_TouchFlo2D_UC_V5_WWE_12.11.2008
on my hermes, and then performed a sprite Backup Recovery with system settings.
Then my Hermes booted until the HTC animation came with the sound, but then it stayed that way.
I tried to connect it via USB, but it wouldn't recognize it when i tried to reflash it, soon i tried to flash it via SD-card (putting a ROM *.nbh file on the formatted card, then naming it HERMIMG.nbh) still nothing. The phone is recognized by the computer an the bootloader shows connection via USB, but nothing works
HERM200
IPL-1.00
HERM 200
SPL-1.04
What should i do? Thanks for your help!
you can try a hard reset. steps on this page
http://www.htcwiki.com/page/Doing+a+hard+reset?t=anon
thanks for your response, i will try that!
yea it's probably not flashing via SD card because your sd card is larger than 1gb.

Click to collapse
Up to 2GB is fine, it's just that the card can't be SDHC because the bootloader won't recognise it. I suspect the reason it can't flash is because you hadn't SuperCID the device or you don't have HardSPL (evident from your SPL)!
You really should have read enough to know that HardSPL should be a prerequisite before flashing any ROM.

If you are in bootloader you don't need 50% of battery.
Just flash the ROM.

I have some problems with my ARTEMIS P3300 (arte 100).
problem : I can't flash HTC WM6 english from http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Artemis_Upgrades
Why I need a clean rom : I tried FlyROM Manilla and Touch ROM WWE 4.02 full and vanilla but they are unstable. I had many white screens, phone shutting down in conversation, freezed many times.
I tried to flash with USPL and got the INVALID MODEL ID error (if I used a wrong rom please tell me what to chose from the list http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Artemis_Upgrades ) ;sd card and sim were out, battery full
I tried to sd flash following these instructions http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Artemis_SD_Card_Flashing and got to the Update sd image but after presing the slider down the screen faded down. after 1/2 hour I pressed the power button and the old rom started
what was wrong ?
Now I'm using FlyROM manilla and i still want to flash a factory rom
