Anyone knows how to quickly toggle between predictive and non predictive text?
In the keyboard above the left shift key it states XT9... is there a key etc to turn it off? I love the predictive feature, but I often need to type without it (other languages etc). On my Compact IV there was a button to turn it off when not needed.
Sorry dont want to spam the forum.... just loved to get help on this!

anyone agree with me that texting on the touch hd is rubbish?
i use the phone keypad (simulated obviously) to text and the first word i type gets binned so i have to type it again. i like the app to change the keyboard but i use the phone keypad and there doesnt seem to be a skinning app for that.
are there any proper alternatives out there or can i disable some of the useless buttons on the keypad?
cheers all

I have read several threads regarding Touch Input in this forum but I still don't understand why I cannot change from Touch Input to any of the other 4 listed soft keyboard options. I can choose them in the pulldown and then select OK. But then if I go back into Input, Touch Input is back as the choice.
And if I cannot choose a different soft keyboard, is there at least a way to turn off the auto suggest for words? It is driving me crazy as it often changes my acronyms and other spelling to something I don't want. But I don't see any options to turn it off.
Just turn off XT9...
The toggle button is under the "a" and to the left of the "z". Just tap it to switch to ABC mode.
Then you can type "cant" and it won't autocorrect it to "can't".
Is it possible to stop the soft keyboard to popup by default? If I read an SMS in portrait the soft keyboard will show and take up half the screen, but if I would reply I would flip out the hard keyboard and type on that.
Still it's good to have the option to type with the soft keyboard, so I dont want to remove it completely, only stop it from showing by default.

The advanced configuration tool has a setting for this. I can't say if it works, I've never tried to shut mine off.

I noticed there's no Word Completion when typing text, notes, word Docs etc...
anyone know where I can turn this on? or if it is/is-not an option?
I found some Options under Start>Settings>Personal>Input>Option (Under Touch input), for: XT9 Settings.... no clue what that is...it does have boxes to check Spell Correction, Word Completion in XT9 mode, Word Completion in ABC mode (For Phone Keypad only), and Auto-Substitution...but Word Completion still doesn't work.
Thanks
Figured it out...you have to change the ABC ---> to "XT9" on the soft keyboard, then it works for both the soft and hard keyboard.
Ah, answered my question. I had adjusted the option, but still couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work. Now I know!!!!!

You can also do it on the hard keyboard by pressing ---> FN then "UP" directional key...which has the XT9 key ;D
took me awhile to get this haha
use to be when using V2T, I could dismiss it when I tapped a wrong word. The keyboard would then come up.
Doesn't seem to be anymore. Is that an Android feature?
In other words, say I’m using V2T to enter some text and I want to switch to keyboard to edit. Use to be that when I tapped the phone, V2T would auto dismiss and SwiftKey would appear.
