notification settings - Desire General

Is there any way to set a different tone when I receive an exchange email via the HTC email app. Currently it is the same as my sms tone.
Are there any decent apps for better control of notifications for example repeat after 5 mins etc etc.

despite disabled I get GMail notification

gents,
I disabled the notification of new emails in all my accounts.
It works in all but my GMail Accounts. I still get the "M" logo in the top-bar.
Is it a bug?
So you went into the Gmail app and turned off new email notifications?

Exactly.
I noticed that it is only my primary mail Account that notifies.
There are 2 email apps on the desire. Make sure you go into both and disable the notification.
Could be a bug in yours, I turned off notifications and missed 4 emails
Yeah u r right about 2 Apps. The Gmail App needed configuration too
Thanx 4 the help

HTC Email App

I've noticed the HTC email app isn't the most up to date when it comes to read emails and received emails.
For example, I have the same email setup on the HTC Email app and the standard email app which comes on the plain T-Mobile rom. The standard email app will get the emails a few min before the HTC email app and will update the status on the emails (read/unread) way before the HTC email app.
The thing is I like all the options which come with the HTC email app, so what email app do you guys use? Is there anything better?
Things i love about the HTC email app
- i can setup my out of the office directly from there
- groups my conversations
- the overall presentation/design of the app
edit: the email is setup as 'push' on both of the apps

Ringtones and Notifcations

I made couple of notifactions tones, and when i set one for text and email. If i set one for email and a text comes in, i get the same sound, or if i set it for text, i get the same sound on email... How can i set each one to its own?
Go into email app and pick the tone u want. Then go into text app and pick a tone

I don't think this is possible?
It is only if you use a 3rd party email / sms app.

Or a Sense 2+ ROM, I believe. I definitely have the option to have a different notification for my SMS than my E-mail. In fact, I have separate notifications for GMail, HTC E-mail, GTalk, & SMS.
go into the app and go to the settings for each app then choose notification settings. in the gmail app its in the account settings-then labels to notify.
I am using Synergery RLS1+god mode... I do go into the each app and change it but still same thing.

A better mail app?

I just bought a One X to replace my iPhone 4, mostly happy about it, except the mail app is a bit frustrating
Firstly, iPhone almost always loads the full email instantly, and the ICS app only loads the text version and I have to press a button to load images and that could take an extra few seconds per email
Second, there is no next/previous button? I have to press the back button and select another mail to open it...
Lastly, whenever I receive a new email, iPhone notifies me instantly and I'm a slide of a bar away from viewing the full email, with ICS the notification system doesn't even work for me, I have to refresh the mail app in order to see the new email.
Is there any way to fix this?
I'm using Hotmail
Use the hotmail app from Microsoft. Much better imo. Has push notifications and pinch to zoom.

I am using HTC Mail to work with Gmail. Unless I select a frequent receiving interval, the time getting the new incoming email seem a bit later than what I have used in Windows Phone and iPhone. The best mail client is iPhone that it almost get the email after couple of minutes after sender dispatching the email.
K9 mail https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fsck.k9&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5mc2NrLms5Il0.
Or make an active sync account in the default mail app and set it to push.
My recommendation would be to install "Touch down for smart phones". It is the best mail app that i have found for my hotmail account and also does exchange.

Just rooted and installed a custom Rom. It appears my Vodafone handset had a lot of the email settings disabled. I can now have push mail and html messages in stock app.

[Q] Notifications on Productivity screen not showing

Recently, I have noticed that the notifications on the productivity screen are no longer there.
I have checked and all the options are selected and the right scene is selected.
Would it to be with an Exchange mail account (with security policies) been set up on the handset?
Steve
Anyone?

Productivity lockscreen works fine for me.
Calendar appointments, texts, missed calls and e-mails from company's exchange account
I'm still on 1.26 though.
