Here’s a video of a newly developed Comic Book reader from Clarity Consulting for Windows Phone 7 (it looks a whole lot like the Graphic.ly reader we saw at MIX10, so I wouldn’t be surprised is Clarity Consulting was behind the two apps) and use Silverlight & DeepZoom. The demo is obviously being run on a touchscreen enabled PC using the WP7 Emulator. Clarity seems to be also working on a couple of other apps like Hulu
Yea, I saw that already on WMPoweruser. I think the graphic.ly Comic book demo look neater. Clarity is also developing apps for other companies Hulu and the NBA.

Maybe you should post a link to the real source of this story instead of copy/pasting the whole post and screenshots and linking only to the video?
http://www.mobiletechworld.com/2010...-phone-7-demonstrated-more-apps-in-the-works/
and shame on WMPU for not linking to MTW too (instead they linked to a french site who actually got the story from MobileTechWorld). On a slightly OT note, I find it funny that WMPU linked to every HTC HD2 review ever posted on the net but not MTW's one and recently it's doing the same with HTC HD Mini articles (same for every original content on MTW, it never gets credit or a link back on WMPU, for comparison just look at how many times Pocketnow and even Engadget linked back to MTW in the past 6 months...)
I also already posted this yesterday: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=665371
Hmm, the way I understand what Clarity wrote in their blog, they're not developing Hulu and comic applications, they're just playing with the SDK and make rough sketches of what those could look like.

Hello to All!
I started some Workshop about Future of Mobile Windows Devices for
- Interface and OS and
- Hardware-Sugegstions
and i want to invite all of you to be Part of this and add your Concepts, Comments and Ideas.
In my Powerpoint-Presentation i worked out some Concept for A 3D-Interface for Explorer, Messaging, Filereader and some Applications-Manager (instead of A Homescreen). Here is the Link, this is about 20MB, because i put in A Lot of Screenshots and Sketches of my Idea.
Within this, you can overview everything on the first View - and there you find Illustrations of an animated graphical 3D-Interface for easy exploring with Thumbnails of everything that is running.
My Idea includes A Concept for making Sessions of what you are doing (opened Programms, Web-Sessions, Multimedia-Sessions, Sessions for Volume, -for Settings, so that you can share whole Devices at once, ...).
Everything is presented to you in horizontal-moving Rings with Icons Rows and Thumbnails of Folders-Content:

}
You can preview the Content of A Folder in Background-Icons (Levels) as Thumbnails when you hold your Finger on an Icon,
Menus and Settings and Explorer+ Readers are sorted and put together in 1 Interface - that is my Vision for Windows-Phone 7 Series and later Versions.
-Within the Apps-Manager you watch:
I also want to share with you my Idea of revolutionary Hardware-Features for Windows-Devices and how that could be realized.
Please feel free to let me know your Thoughts for some animated Interface and let's talk about your Suggestions for Future of Windows-Mobile Devices (-Should Win. be more the Way of MP3-Player or of A Tablet-PC?) and please publish Illustrations of your Thoughts and Concepts here, also Comments of the new MS Phone-Concept.
"Let's create Future"
While innovative, I think that looks very over-designed. Not sure that it would be very user friendly... perhaps too flashy.
nice
but i think Microsoft had gone through lots of designs before they chose the new one!
Wow you sure seem to be talented! But not quite sure if you're using it in the right place!
Too many icons
svetius: "jump to your device" -- shouldn't this go above the dropdown so no rollover
Hey I cannot quarrel with the man who brought Youtube embeds within 48 hours or initial request... (btw, am I the only one using it? ... wait, let me answer that: yes. But I like it, so thank you !)
That pair of "quick navigation to your phone" tools at top right has been really great. It's just that enroute to using the text box to type in "desire" I almost always rollover the dropdown which causes an obstruction to my desired objective.
You probably wrestled with this and have reasons for the way you did it. But just in the event you were really really smashed that night and really had no rationale whatsoever and just flipped a coin, are you open to trying to flip the two...
Another unsolicited usability comment in the spirit of improvement. The xda favicon is such a welcome change from the boring vBulletin v, but I find it hard to read.
Did you ever come across how they went about remaking the YouTube favicon to improve its readability? It sounded very esoteric by god it did the job... A reader submitted it -- and YouTube took her up on it, and adopted it:
2 similar reads about it, with images:

About the drop down...in the forum redesign we're working on, you must click the drop down to get it to open.
About the fav icon...feel free to make one that is better than the current. All of us are quite pleased by the new icon. It's not perfect, but making a legible 16x16 graphic is very difficult.
Why? Update your app TWC...

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
That is funny, I just got off the phone with those clowns and no one knew what I was talking about. I pointed the service dude to the web and listened while he read it followed with a 'huh...not sure'.
I then did a search and came up with your thread (from today!!). Great minds I tell you, or are you just as bored at work as I am today
Either way, No love for ICS (phone variety) and no streaming like ios. Just another reason for me to hate TWC!!
Customer service has no clue...wish it was supported!!!
My girlfriend can run it on her (crappy) HTC Aria. Works well too.
I may have to try my old DInc (it is wifi only at this point) when I get home. I do hope they get the live TV watching working (like Direct TV has) shortly.
My girlfriend has an Ipad (I'm not an apple fan myself) and TWC has a NICE app people can watch tv on their Ipads with. Pretty impressive.
If they made something like that for Android it would be awesome!
The only catch is you have to be connected to your TWC road runner at home for it to work, so its kinda pointless really, unless you don't own a TV - in which case why pay for cable?
hey sorry every body i work for twc and they do not tell us anything about it i has a 5 min training while i was on a call with a customer about the app. also this was 1 day before release date. please just don't be mad at us on the phones.

is out yet on xap
Nice,
when it's ready ?
Did anybody care to read the article or is at least capable of understanding the meaning of "concept"? These are just pictures. The designer is currently looking for developers for this concept.
I don't like it - I think it doesn't fit into WP7.
I was at a conference at Microsoft's HQ where they talked about Windows 8 and Metro.
They took an old fashioned RSS reader and slowly 'converted' it to Metro, as they explain every step. From what I understand, In WP7:
You display on the main area only whats needed - otherwise there's the [...] area for settings and configurations (called the App Bar).
Element design is kept to a minimum - jagged edges are too much, also, the borders around the icons are too much.
The circular elements don't fit well into a squared environment.
It's really nice designed. Shame I can't help, need to learn new technologies I am at .net aspx jquery ajax
This will depend on the OEM pretty much and what the Radio version / Firmware allow the camera to do.
for me its to much on the screen, if the first picture should represent it in use??? the screws are to much and to big. i know it should be like on an DSLR but its to much, it has nothing with metro to do.
I see RETRO here
BTW I could buy as appears in the Market
Ok before you laugh, have a look about the internet, I was frankly stunned by this old news, as I would have gone all in on a Microsoft/Nokia Feature Phone. I would still drop my Android in a heart beat to have this. As for years I ran an Old Audiovox SMT 5600 WinMo 5 candy bar phone, even with the T9 text it did all I ever wanted phone calls, texts, and music in my pocket. None of the fancy streaming or data collection crap with facebook and it's evil partners
Any way I stray away from the Topic.... Sources for the Microsoft RM-1181/82/83
Windows Central Zac Bowden did a write up of a hands on.....
https://www.windowscentral.com/microsoft-feature-phone-rm-1182-windows
Nokia Power User also had pics and a write up
RM-1182 was a Microsoft-branded Feature-phone
RM-1182 seems to be a Microsoft-branded Feature-phone
nokiapoweruser.com
A YouTube video of it's startup, prototype password stuff
Then to my surprise a few are in the wild and for sale.....
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/295117884704
I would buy one, but I have no idea how much is working, what of the phone works, or how to even start to poke about and look to rip out a rom to see if other newer Hardware in the HMD/Nokia line could be made to run what ever this runs. It comes from China, so I am guessing it will take forever to get one with the world in the state it's in.
In any case just putting it out to see if anyone gets sparked with an itch. I know my itch is sparked and I have no idea how long I can hold off trying to grab one. As I have been thinking of going back to a feature phone for some time as I have no need for all the crap a Smart Phone does, but I am older and not driven by a need for social media junk.
