Hi there!
I am using Schaps excellent Rom 3.54b and my Mailserver runs Dovecot...
My problem is that i cannot access IMAP subfolders.... the mainfolder is fine, and the folderstructure is listed too... but when entering a subfolder it is empty.
Any ideas? Your help is highly appreciated...
thx, licht
Once you open the messaging app, you need to go to "menu" then "tools" then "manage folders" then tick on all the folders you'd like to sync. By default, activesync only syncs "inbox" and the rest of the folders (subfolders, etc), would need to be manually selected this way. Once done, re-sync and you should get all your messages/emails
Thx for your quick answer!
i cant believe that i missed this one
PS: anyone tried vgsmail for IMAP idle? Or is this already included in wm6' pocket outlook?
mmh...thought it should be the same procedure, i dont use IMAP. When you say "the mainfolder is fine, and the folderstructure is listed too... but when entering a subfolder it is empty" are you talking about the messaging app in you pocket pc? When you go in your messages and you see your emails in what you described as "the mainfolder" is that the inbox? and when you say "the folderstructure is listed too" are you referring to the subfolders?
If yes then, just go to "menu" then "tools" then "manage folders" then tick on all the folders that are empty and instead of syncing using activesync, use the method that you use to retrieve your IMAP emails. Once the folders are ticked, on your next IMAP email retrieval, the empty subfolders that you are referring to should contain your emails in them. Let me know if this works
sorry for the post, glad you made it work!
Outlook Contacts & "Address Book" do not sync when Contact is created in WM6
I face this problem:
When a contact is created in Outlook 2003's contact folder, it will show up nicely in Outlook "address book" (this is necessary for "To:" button in new email to work.) But, if I create the new contact on my Trinity (WM6), the contact is sync to Outlook's Contact folder but does not appear on the "address book". The result is that I cannot select the new contact's email address using the "To:" button.
Has anyone faced this problem?
I discovered that if I edit the e-mail field of the contact and save it, it will cause the contact to be shown in "Address Book". Editing other fields seem to have no effect...
Whick rom do you use ?
Need help from the experts! I did a search on this forum for my issue and I haven't been able to find one.
I don't have Outlook on my PC. I hooked up my phone to my PC and I have Activesync 4.5. I had synced up the phone and all I did was transfer music from the PC to the phone. Now I don't have any contacts at all! I looked to see if it was on my SIM card and I don't see anything. I don't know where to look in Activesync for my contacts. Please HELP!

you may want to see if your contacts are listed in outlook express or another email client you may have on your PC. One of the options you may have done (i know cuz this has happened to me b-4) is this: when you first create an activesync partnership it will ask you 1.) if you want the items on your device to be replaced by the PC, 2.) if you want the items on the PC to be replaced by the phone or 3.) do you want to merge the items. If you picked option 1.) and didn't have any contacts in on your PC to be sync'ed then what will happen is ActiveSync will remove all of your contacts out of your phone to prepare for syncing of contacts from your PC, (even if there are no contacts on your PC). I'm afraid that unfortunately, unless your contacts have been stored somewhere else, (Like Outlook express, or an MSN e-mail account like hotmail) you're kinda out of luck.

Pretty much capped it right there. Good job.
How can I find out which way I went from the options you mentioned?
I don't think you can unfortunately. I would definitely delete the profice from your pc in activesync so that way if you do get your contacts back this wont happen again. The reason why i say this is because if you do this, you will be re-prompted select one of the 3 options mentioned above.Even if it's not option 1 that you selected. What's done is done and can't be undone. Meaning that even if you did see which option you selected and changed it to option 2 or 3, your contacts will not magically come back.
Good day, dashers!
Situation:
Someone sends me a text message.
I click on their number and add them as a SIM contact.
Problem:
When I go my picture folder and try to associate a pic with the contact, the contact doesn't appear in the pick-list.
If I go find them in Contacts, associating a pic or an icon with that contact isn't an option.
Any ideas?
Should I save them as Outlook contacts instead of SIM contacts? Won't that upload them to my work Exchange address book when I sync up at the office?
Thanks in advance!

Contact needs to be on phone memory not sim
Thank you for half-way answering my question! {/light-hearted sarcasm}
It is possible to move them to phone memory now that they are SIM contacts?
When I open Contacts, am I only seeing SIM contacts, then, or all contacts?
What am I seeing when I click on a picture and try to assign it to a contact?

Don't have my Dash available but i always use Dopod SIM Manager to copy sim to phone.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=487920
The viewing of SIM contacts, phone contacts, will depend on settings, i think as default you see both if you just want to see phone after copy you can use XDA SIM Show Hide
Hope that helps
Thanks stylez.
Hmmm...when I try to save a contact my only choices are Outlook, SIM, or Windows Live.
"Phone" is not an option.

Save to sim copy to phone with the above sim manager
Thanks again!
It actually is Save to Sim, go to Sim Manager, open choice then Save to Contacts.
Open Contacts, open THAT Contact, and then it can be edited to include a picture and much more. After that I've been deleting the SIM contact to save space.
Thanks again, stylez!
Contact must to be on phone not sim, transfer them first and it will work
if u jus choose outlook option insted of sim then u dont need to go through copying it to phone... for showing n hiding sim contacts open setting - phone- call options- show hide sim contacts

I've had a contact for myself in Gmail for years. This way I can just type my first name and email stuff to my work, or home, or whatever.
The People app lists a contact up at the top of the list with my name and calls it "My contact card". I would love to be able to link it to my normal Gmail contact but it doesn't give me any options to.
Is there any value to me duplicating all my info by hand into the "My contact card"? What does that even do for me?
It allows you to send "My Contact Card" to another person, which of course can also be done with your Google contact info. Oh and it also shows your picture in SMS and MMS chat threads. if there is anything else i cant think of it, maybe if you lost your phone somebody honest could contact you ....
