Internet explorer cach/temp/history clearing - Windows Mobile Software Development

I noticed on my old Kaiser when I use the Phoenix 3 ROM,
Internet explorer history cache and temp is always empty after restarting the program.
I took a look at the registry and tried to find any differences between the registry on my kaiser and the one on my Touch pro (where the history is saved as normal) but I couldn
t find anything, i also can't find any other program running that causes the cache to clear.
Can anyone give me a clue or cab/script/reg/exe file which makes IE clear its cache after restart?

New Location for Cookies/Temporary Internet Files/History in Registry in WM6?

Howdy:
I noticed in the last couple of ROMS that the registry hack does not work for Windows Mobile 6 to relocate the Cookies, History, Temporary Internet Files. I could declare it had worked before:
I had created the registry entries (as listed below), and created the folders on the Storage Card in:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
Cache (key)
Cookies (key)
History (key)
I noticed that the information is still being stored on the phone. I even tried a different ROM (instead of the HTC Official which I had been using); I have Black Satin Normal installed now.
Anyone else notice this?

PocketIE doesn't connect

Hi,
I'm experiencing problems with PocketIE.
Simply it doesn't not load pages: as soon as I tap Go or I give Enter, it says "Connecting..." in the bottom bar, then 0 KB, then nothing again, and does not load anything!
It simply stays idle on the default home page!
Every other application is able to use my internet connection.
Any suggestions
Ciao, ErMeglio
Looks like you have a connection issue: problem is not PocketIE, but your PDA don't connect to internet.
Just to be sure, try istalling other browsers: OperaMini, etc. I bet, other browsers will not connect, too.
Try to check internet connection

This happened to me when i imported my config XML using advanced config.. the only way to fix it is to hard reset i think.
I discovered this because I wanted to install signed OperaMini in my own language as I always did: downloading from IE by Mobile. That's the only way to get it signed, since suggestions I found on other threads didn't work(MANIFEST modify).
The fact is this situation is after an HR and Internet works perfectly: WLM is listening "as items arrive" and so my Exchange email set in Active Sync.
BUT, this is also after me messing with SDConfig.txt...I've set all my usual apps and some xml and this:

actually makes sense.Infact one of the XML I make SDConfig.txt import is the one exported from AdvanedConfig, just after my personalizations. I don't remember if I did import it again by the app another time after HR, but I don't think so. Did you try importing it differently(SDConfig, other apps)? I'd like to understand if it's the xml itself, or the importing from the AdvConf app.
I've just noticed that the index file of IE cache (on sd according to my xml) is somehow "locked": I can't delete it. It could be IE can't write there too.
I'm doing a complete loong scan disk of my Micro by Windows Vista (even if I never had a problem, it always complains about corruption, so let's try and see what Mr. Bill can do )...then I'll delete cache from pc and try again...
I've much to learn to get my SDConfig work in all its parts
@abusalza
Yes, I'm using PDACornerPro.V22 but posted separately because this issue was not there at first, so it's -99%- sure it isn't your rom's fault, thanks for interesting
As soon as I get everything working through SDConfig, I'll go for final v23, I see you're uploading
[UPDATE]
Ok, just did the scandisk and it found 450MB of damaged files! I really don't know where and how, but I deleted the so-big FOUND.000 directory it made and didn't really understand where all that stuff came from.I deleted any file into IE's cache dirs too but no luck with IE, same matter.
Will flash V23, make SDAutoRun do its duties and see...
If it's confirmed to be an AdvConf matter, why don't we discuss it with Schap?
Well, just to let you or someone who comes here later know how this story finished, I found which was the matter!
With AdvancedConfig I changed the Application Data directory and moved it to storage card.
Seems IE didn't like that tweak: I simply changed it to \Application Data again and woilĂ , IE started working
Thanks for pointing me to the solution
Ihave Same Problem But When I Using Rom Wm5 With Original Cingular Ie Work Fine But When I Upgrade To Wm6 Or At&t, That Happen Again, I Try Install Opera It's Work Fine

how to save Opera's cache, cookies and history in microSD?

I understand that config. editor of Opera can be opened by typing Opera:config on the address bar, but I don't know which lines to be modified before I can save all the cache, cookies and history in the microSD. IS there anybody who can teach me??
In the opera.ini at the last line of "[User Prefs]"
Cache Directory4=\Storagecard\operacache\
or:
Cache Directory4=\Storage Card\operacache\
Its depend how is wright in the Explorer from your HD.
- Softreset
I tried this, but it ended up with failure in locating the URL.
If I just use my old favourite links, would it end up with this?
Or should I type in the whole URL address again in the address bar?

it is as mentioned above,
edit the Cache Directory4 section to point to \Storage card\operacache\
but make sure the directory exists on your SD card, otherwise you will get the error messages, I've just checked it and it works fine on my HTC Diamond (made it look at 4GB), Touch Pro and HD
The HD (also the Diamond) make self a foulder "operacache" on the Storagecard if you connect the opera browser.
Hello everyone I wonder how I could save cookies and browser cache Android, since I have access to a site that I care, I have not the possibility of returning ... I should change the rom but I want to save these things. thanks!

weird symbols in "\My Documents" folder listing (Solved: opera 9.5 issue)

Hi there,
first off, very nice forum, lovin' it, keep up the good spirit.
Now, I've bought a TP2 with the new WM6.5 WWE 1.86.401.0 installed.
Problem is that I see weird folder listing in "\My Documents" folder on the device (see attached screenshot).
It's possible to delete the folder but they are restored again by software and also more are created during operation of the phone over time.
I have done a hard reset already but that doesn't solve so I guess it must be a problem within the stock flash image.
Before I do a reflash with WM6.5 downloaded from the HTC site I was wondering if anyone has seen this before and maybe knows how to solve this problem?
And... could this problem be related to "standby crash" / "standby of death" problem that I'm having as well (already tried to set both Band settings to UMTS but that didn't work either).
anyone? thanx in advance!
Yep, I have the same issue. It seems to occur after saving files in Opera; Opera then creates a folder in "My Documents", which it doesn't clean up.
Same here
Same problem here, stock Opera is the "faulty" one, when you save a file from a web page. From time to time Opera even closes itself imediately when pressing the SAVE button and I have to start over again the browsing and downloading procedure.
If anyone can help us with an Opera setting for default save-to path it will be GREAT!
Regards,
Radu
This was the reason I switched to using Opera Mobile 10 beta. When I was using the stock Opera 9.5, I kept deleting the offending directories, but they kept coming back. I don't get this problem now.
Thanx all.
So I guess we can close this one by just stating that it's a "opera 9.5" problem.
About the save path. I have been looking in the opera:config settings page but there was no setting to change the default save path.

[Q] How to clear Bluetooth Received folder

Hello,
I have placed Bluetooth Recieved folder to the the Home Screen, to have a quick access to downloaded files. The problem is that I'm seeing there an old non-existing files. How do I clear this history of received files?
I clear those files via a file manager (astro for me).
It is located in sdcard/downloads/bluetooth for me.
You don't seem to understand. Those files aren't there anymore, cause I've already deleted them (I'm also using Astro btw). Somehow thought, they are still visible in "bluetooth received" folder. It seem to me like cache or some crap like that.
Not sure if you guys are still trying to find a solution for this or if you've already sorted it, but to clear the bluetooth files recieved list, go to:
Menu: Settings: Applications: Manage Application: Bluetooth Share: and then clear Cache/Data
and Bob's your uncle... or at the very least there's a bloke called Robert getting very friendly with your auntie.
Hope this helps
How to clear Bluetooth Received folder
I tried the method you have mentioned. But still the transfer history remains in the folder. Actually the bluetooth share cache was empty/disabled. Any other solution?
