This may seem pretty mundane, but I've noticed that my notification light doesn't seem to blink very long.
I've read that task managers/killers can affect notifications. I do have Astro installed but am not using it to kill applications. More a file manager and viewer. I'm also using Handcent.
At first I thought it wasn't blinking. I just tested it, and it lasted about 10mins before turning off. Is this normal?
Make that 5 mins!

Morning,
Is anyone else finding their Notification LED for text messages (Possibly E-Mail's too) is flashing for 2-3 Minutes then stopping? Missed several texts now because of this and its annoying me that I have to keep unlocking my phone to check for texts.
Is there an option I have missed? Do I have a dodgy Phone? or is that just the way it is?
KYI
I think mine does this too, that's why I was asking for a Wake on Notification app. Can we change LED from green or orange via software?

'Missed call' for the Market lets you (IIRC) change LED colour Whether is is fully operational on Desire, I'm not sure. Don't think you need root access either.
It's only flashes for about 2-3 mins then goes off - if you've not noticed by then I assume it thinks it'll save power...
makes sense to me to be honest. for example if u miss a text on the iphone, it will only chime once more. i wouldnt want mine staying on.
I Suppose I just miss it for the G1 days. My Phone is on silent all day at work and the continious LED was a bonus for notifications. Surely an single LED doesn't draw that much power? Might have to give Missed call a try again.
nah the desire seems to use different code to light up the notification LED so none of the LED apps on the market work anymore. like LEDtester, the LED just flashes green and cant be changed. and handcent, it just flashes green and cant be changed.

have it on vibrate instead - or just check the screen every now and then...
I did post about this earlier but got zero replies so I wondered if it was only me.
Mine blinks for I think it's exactly 5mins. That's it. And I don't think it has anything to do with saving battery since that one blinkiing LED (mostly blinking when then screen is off) does not take much power at all.
I've emailed HTC to see what they say.
Although not ideal, handcent does allow you to set notification reminders.
I have mine set to re-vibrate 15 mins after receiving a text if I haven't checked it. You can change all the options, so have it chime, vibrate, wake scree, flash LED, all of above, one of above etc. at different intervals and a number of times - I find once vibrating only to be a sufficient reminder if it's in my pocket, however if on a desk would probably have the screen re-awaken.
Might help.

I was noticing 100% awake time and poor battery life after updating to 2.2 and installing all my usual apps so I uninstalled them one at a time and after uninstalling LED light it went back to normal.
LED light widget works fine for me.
It worked fine for me too but it was causing the phone to always be running. Install the phone info app and check the battery history, it will always be at 100% running.
Why would you want it anyways? It has the flashlight app now which actually has 3 settings, low, medium and high.

The led light app has a widget so when you hit and the light instantly turns on or off. The htc flashlight loads a picture of a flashlight which is pretty lame.
I like the new flashlight they put in, but it definitely needs a widget..
I use switchpro widgets right now
I have light flow, and when my screen shuts off, the LED light keeps blinking (white.) Any idea how to make this stop?

Well... my solution was to uninstall it.
Basically I found that while Light Flow was pretty neat, I was getting quite a few random notifications (i.e. LED flashing but no notifications in the bar) that would only stop after rebooting.
Eventually I got fed up with it and removed the app. Shame.

Hey, I would try clearing the apps data or a reinstall to see if that fixes it. I am using it the past two months and never had an issue. Good luck.
Check your lightflow notification settings and see which notification is set to flash white. If it's SMS or email, make sure that you don't just clear the notifications by just swiping it off the drop down menu but actually go into the apps and mark them as read. Otherwise lightflow will still detect them as unread and notify you.
If none of the notifications are set to flash white then you might have not set lightflow up properly. Go to your accessibility settings and make sure that lightflow is enabled. If that doesn't fix it uninstall and reinstall the app.

Never had any issues with Light Flow, but don't use sleep mode as an LED blinking when on charge isn't going to wake me up (AudioGuru mutes sound on sleep profile, mind)
Ultimately if you're having issues get in touch with the developer as only they can fix the issue
Disable the notifications for anything that is set to use the White color. It should solve the problem. You most likely have the notification set to only clear when you enter the application. I personally prefer to clear it when my screen turns on because if my screen has turned on, then I have already "checked" the notification and don't need that light continuously flashing.
Phantom notifications has long been an android problem. Its not light flow specific

Hi,
How long should last the LED when it's blinking ? SMS received etc...
In my old HTC, I believe it was 5 min.
I am asking the question as when I receive a sms at 1am...it will blink until 6am in the morning....
No really good for my battery even I know it's only a LED...but....
Thanks for your reply.
Cheers,
I miss that option too.
It seems that there is no way to control led blinking time. Led keeps blinking until the missed event is cleared.
I found that better, LED keeps blinking until I check the notification. Hated the 5 mins notification in BlackBerry.
Anyway, you could use Light Manager app, and set sleep time.
Besides, continuous blinking of LED doesn't drain any battery. I often have a SMS or a missed call for more than 4/5 hours, and I never noticed any drain, at all.

Hello.
Is there supposed to be a light for when the device is charged?
Mine shows no notification of either plugged in and charging, or when at 100%?
Cheers
you should see a lightning bold in the battery icon when charging
Yeah, cheers.
I was meaning with the screen off. All my other Android phones had a notification light when charging (ie red, then turned green once fully charged).

use this app

I had assumed there would at least be a sound considering the 3rd setting in my screen shot, but there's not.
As for light flow, I used it a lot on my N5, but I tried it on my 5X and there were some issues.
First, there's the persistent notification... It's the way LF uses to keep the app running in the foreground, but there's a LF notification always in the pull down AND that screws with ambient display. If you turn that setting off in LF, the app stops working within 20 minutes of the screen being off, defeating the purpose of having a light blinking to let you know it's charging.
Second, not so much LF's issue, but you can't make the LED light up certain colors like orange. Regardless of shade, it all comes out yellow.
I'm really surprised that Google didn't add something for a charging indication using the LED...
Yeah, cheers for that.
At least I know its not just my device.
