Development of J2ME Application - Windows Mobile Software Development

Hi,
I am developing a J2ME application on HD2. Basically the application will sent the GPS coordinates received to the java servlet hosted on the server. I am using Netbeans 6.8 and GlassFish V3 as server. But apparently i am getting a java.io.IOException: Invalid chunk header on the server side. I am not sure why this error would occur as everything works fine on other platform for example Nokia N97.
Could the problem be the OS as HD2 uses Window Mobile 6.5 while N97 uses Symbian?? Or could it be the JBlend which causing the problem as HD2 uses that to run J2ME application??
Any guidance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot in advance.

java vm in wm6

hi,
i doubt that anybody besides me is actually using the java machine but i do and i noticed that the java vm in wm6 sucks, the security settings for unsinged java apps can only be changed to "No access" and to "one shot".
so i have to confirm a dialog everytime the java app writes a few bytes to disk or every time the java apps sends a packet. this is a really nasty behavior, is there a known hack how i can change to to "always" or "session" as in earlier versions?
Use IBM Java
I had the same issue. I just use IBM's java program instead. You have to go through a few hoops to get it and install it, but it works great.
i already got IBM´s java and i don´t like it

Computer Algebra System (cas) on smartphone

Hello,
I' m looking for a mathimatical software for my HTC S620. It's pretty hard to find something for wm5 smartphone edition.
I could't install qdCAS, because it's for ppc the same as TI Emulator.
I've also found some j2me apps jasymca (compatibel to maxima) and FnattLabME (compatbile to Matlab). But I could not get it to run. there is just a blanc screen. other java apps are working just fine, so my java engine isn't messed up. Here's the homepage with the documentation
I tried also MobileMath, but I cant set up the keys properly.
Any help or hint would be great
Hi again,
I've found two programs that are native for windows mobile ppc.
qdcas - a frontend for the well known xcas. the desktop version can also execute texas instruments ti-98 and ti-200 voyage programs, may be the ppc version too. an other (better) frontend for xcas is "math table", but it's not for free. xcas is working on wm5 smartphone (S620), But it has no gui. the input/output works through text files. very unconvinient on smartphone. i believe qdcas is open source.
YacasCE - PPC port from yacas. works whith gnuplotCE and you can switch to xcas as the backend. the gui is better than qdcas, because you can point on the function instead typing the commands. further more it has a console with pocketconsole like MSDOS. it doesn't start on s620 at all. the developer doesnt have time for making a sp editon, but he would give the source code for developing it. unfortunatly I don't have programming skills in c++, eVC, visual studio 2005.
can some one port one of these apps to wm5 sp, please?

i want to programming c++ at HD2

hi everyone
i want to programming c++ at HD2
I found in market a programm "esql" and it is for DB it very nice
but I need one for c++
can I find any program for this ??
no one can help me??!!
up
Your best bet:
Visual Studio 2008
Windows Mobile Professional SDK
ActiveSync / Windows Mobile Device Center.
Free alternative is Embedded Visual C++,but IMHO it needs much more experiences with object programming, but if you understand the principle,it is also good to develop something. Actually,it is designed for old WM2003,but apps developed there are working also under newest WM versions. Additionally to evC++ you do need WM 6.1 SDK with emulators and latest ServicePack for evC++.
Main problem there is,that the emulator for WM5+ doesn't work directly with evC++ and it cannot connect to the device directly via ActiveSync(because since WM5 it is using TCP/IP communication instead of regular serial as before). However, these are minor problems.

Have you searched? IIRC there are some projects around here.
Programmatically getting the CellID from your Windows Mobile phone shows how to do it in C# .net cf
Check the comments for some info on free cell id DBs.
P.S.: welcome, and you'll get the right answer earlier when defining exactly what you are looking for. For example: How to get the location by cell id (not gps) using C++.

Can't run KAYAK on Windows Mobile 6.5, was working on 6.1

Hi, i have issues with running the Kayak travel app on the Windows Mobile 6.5 with Esmertec Java launcher. When trying to launch the programs just freezes completely. The console is talking about some language issue and it auto closes (on MySaifu Java client). I had no issue whatsoever in making it work on the Windows Mobile 6.1.
What could be the reason and is there any way to port the app of Windows Phone 7 onto 6.5? Any thoughts or any alternative app for looking flights/hotel prices? Thanks.
Resolved
I wish to thank the entire XDA community for once-again-manifested total disinterest in dealing with problems of people using Windows Mobile.
After weeks of struggling i have resolved the issue myself by installing the Esmertec Jbed Java client, instead of the one that was pre-loaded in my system.
Now Kayak works perfectly. Hope this will be useful to someone else at least.
PS: Here is the page with the Esmertec Java emulator:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407667
PS2: This issue and solution applies to all versions of Windows Mobile, the reason of initial malfunctioning not being cause of WinMo 6.5 but cause of a different Java client installed in the Rom. After that i've got the same problem on the 6.1 which indicated me that the problem wasn't the system but Java itself.
