many thanks for reading.
oh and this site has been a godsend for me my hd2 and desire!!
You need to turn on the notifications for email, facebook, etc...I've just turned mine on now and it seems to work fine!
e.g. open friendstream, click the menu button and select settings and you can set the notifications in there

i just got a text and it splits the screen into two, one showing unread texts and the other emails
any ideas..
Anyone.....
not clear to me..., although you can untick the plugin in settings/today/items...
You can use this application to look for the duplicate notifications and clear them http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=280104
You can also look for Notificationsclearfix, Memaid etc. to clear the double notifications.

try to search for fixunreadcount.exe in the forum
it might work for you
Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone else is having problems with emails for contacts showing up. What I mean is if you go into a contact and then slide across to emails, it should show all the emails from that specific contact.
This has always worked for me if something was in my inbox, but that makes it nearly useless unless you keep everything in your inbox without deleting it. I use GMail, so I set pocket outlook to also sync 60 days worth of the "All Mail" folder, the spot where all of your email goes after you archive it.
The problem is that while the emails show up under contacts if they are in the inbox, they DON'T show up if they are in the "All Mail" folder. I tried restarting my phone and also waiting in the email tab overnight just in case it took it really long to filter through the emails, but no-go
Does anyone know what to do? This would be a really nice feature if it worked!
New question: has ANYONE here actually gotten that to work?
Every new rom I install I don't recieve notifications from twitter or facebook. I recieve a gmail notification but never a notification for that specific app. How do i get my notifications to come through?
Make sure your notifications box is checked. In Facebook, click the menu button on your phone and go into settings. The box saying "Notifications" should be checked in and say "Active". As far as I know, Twitter should send you notifications automatically.
i did all that all my notification boxes are checked but when i get a mention on twitter i get an email from gmail but not a twitter notification
I was actually also getting that also until the new update now it is coming through sometimes but yeah sometimes they don't come in

Use friendcaster instead of the Facebook app. Then under settings in friendcaster have it set to push notifications. This will make it so that when you get the email, you will get a friendcaster notification. They have a twitter app too called tweetcaster that is equally badass.

I've got my Xperia S running ICS 4.0.4.Since I first got it, I haven't been able to get Facebook notifications on my lockscreen. SMS and email work just dandy, though. Calendar, too. And missed call. Everything except for Facebook. When I had my Xperia Arc running GB, the Facebook notifications were so reliable. Part of the reason why I got the S was because I was excited for having the Facebook notifications on my lockscreen again, but it doesn't work. Any idea of what I need to do to fix it, or what might be wrong?
Facebook is checked in the lockscreen notifications part of display. And Facebook notifcations are set to active in the Facebook application. I've done a settings restore, and I've cleared data in the Facebook app. Still nothing.
We only have notifications of Calendar, Email, Miss Call and the last one, Message. Let check it out by yourself in settings/display/lockscreen settings

I enabled facebook inside Xperia so there is a option for lockscreen facebook notifications. For some reason that's not working :/
Strange, I am not getting GMail notifications since I have my Pixel 2XL
Messages stops working after few minutes after the screen is off
1. I have tried to reinstall GMail + clean cache/data
2. tried to use Inbox app but same results
3. Other email apps (Edisson Email) works fine with push notifications
4. All other apps using push notifications works like a charm
any sugestions?
Please check whether sync option is enabled.
users & accounts > Automatically sync data > Enable
Checked, done - other Google items like contacts calendars etc are syncing properly
I've had this issue with Gmail for at least 8 years on every phone I've owned. It works when it wants to, that's about all I've learned in that time.
Interesting thing now that I'm using Tesla Unread: Whenever Gmail is not doing it's thing, I will see a badge for unread messages even though there is no notification. Open Gmail, and it shows unread messages in the inbox menu (but not in the box itself). A minute or so after opening the app, it will download the message and give a notification.
I no longer rely on Gmail, because of this. It's been going on for years and many people have had the same issue.
