Hi,
My diamond was water damaged a while ago, I let it dry out for a couple of weeks and it did not work, I bought a new diamond and tried the battery in my old one and to my amazment it started up, well to the touch diamond screen anyway, it didn't display any red writing and the sreen stayed on but went black after that. I though the radio must have been gone so put it in the bootloader and tried to flash the same radio I had before 1.17, the white screen came up and all went fine but still the same problem!
I really need the data on my internal storage and so need to at least be able to read that. I don't care about it working forever thats why I bought another one as a doner!
Could someone please tell me what happened and how to fix it! Why does it not get past this? Also I have hard reset it, reflashed the original ROM successfully, reflashed hardspl and reflashed the Stock SPL but it still does the same!
In case it helps the bootloader says:
DIAM100 MFG 64M
SPL-1.40.OliNex
MicroP-Diam (LED) v11
PSOC-Wrong Platform(v0x0)
Does anyone know how to, or if there is any way to read the internal storage from the bootloader? I know the phone can read it to flash a ROM from it so why not to get my files off? I can get it into the bootloader so does anyone know any software that can help me to read the files and get them off?
Thanks.
HardSPL HTC repair
Also I called HTC and they said they could try and repair it but I'm not sure about sending it to them as I do want my data but it has HardSPL installed although they did say due to it being water damaged it is an out of warrenty repair and would cost me. Does it matter then if HardSPL is installed as I'm paying for it? I didn't ask them as I wasn't sure. Is there any way to install the stock SPL from the bootloader? As I did try but it didn't seem to work! I am not willing to destroy it further as some people do as I need the data.

if you wahck it in the microwave and swap the stickers around (Serial one under the battery) you ca nclaim on warranty, and end up with 2 new Diamonds
pls, a rescue ? I have the same problem, my HTC worked perfectly, till i broke the display, I've fixed it, it worked, but after a day ot two,...it crashed. And I get the same message when I enter the bootloader.
Infinite restart / reboot loop
What a pity! Any progress in this topic?
I have also this same problem. My Diamond crashed a while ago. It happened suddenly after I activated the WiFi module during normal daily use. The unit restarted itself and stucked in an infinite restart loop since then. I reflashed everything possible with success (also stock ROM), radio ROM etc. No way - the unit is rebooting and rebooting in the very same restart loop.
So I can not access the internal storage and can not save my data. Though there are no pictures of my new-born son, but there are some important files and notes I would love to save, but how?
Is there any possibility to access the internal torage from the bootloader?
Is it maybe possible to open the unit - voiding the warranty - and resolder the internal flash storage on another diamond (a working one)?
I suppose there is some problem with the radio, which causes the reboot. The remaining parts are probably OK. Maybe there is some way to deactivate the radio (WiFi module) from the bootloader (MTTY tool)?
Any hints highly apprechiated!!
Thanks guys!

Hi,
Perhaps you could flash another rom to it. but remember you need to clear the ram with mtty before flashing the new rom. get the diamond unlock tool from olipro (its there in the stickies, i guess) and/or flash new radio series then install the new rom of your choice.
Have a shot, and tell us how it goes.
thanks.

I flashed my phone a couple of weeks ago with Schaps 4.31 Rom. It has been working a treat ! This is the first time I flashed a phone and I followed MR.Vanx instructions.
All was working fine untill yesterday. I had my 3rd freeze of the day. Oh well I thought, thats 3 in 2 weeks never mind must just be having a bad day.
It got worse. I soft reset my phone and now all I get is the Olipro bootloader 3 colour screen ! So I took the battery out and left it for 2 hrs. Still the same.
Whats wrong with it ?
Does this happen like that ?
Can I recover or do I need to flash again or is this permanent ?

<Sarcasm mode> Thanks. Like I never thought to look there. </Sarcasm mode>
I was more interested in the other questions I asked ... IE is this normal after 2 weeks operation ? etc
no, shouldnt happen like that. try putting the .nbh file on a sd card after formatting fat 32. rename to hermimg.nbh then put in phone. if you're in bootloader it should automatically start the flash. this should get you out of bootloader and back into windows. make sur ebattery is more than 50% by putting on to charge for awhile first. hope this helps. Cheers.
Thanks for the response.
I think I can do it via USB as usual I am just waiting for the phone to charge a bit first. Obviously with no OS I have no idea how much battery % it has !! DOH !
Oh well I will post back for those interested once I know if it is goign to work or not !
Previously been stuck on bootloader before, and I just flashed a different ROM via USB. This worked fine for me. Would also try what ultramag69 said previously
Suggested sd as this has become my favourite way of flashing. No chance of NASTY accidents like computer resets, someone unplugging usb or other little things t5hat seem to happen to people as they flash there precious hermes. Sorry if this sounds like a hard sell but I really believe this is the safest way to flash your device. I've even flashed below 50%... Plugged in power. Was in a rush and had no time. Its never failed while I have had bricks and glitches with the usb. And thats my two cents......
Well it just gets stranger, I waited untill the phone was fully charged. It was plugged in to PC via usb swtiched off so I could see the charge light go green. When I switched the phone on with USB connected to go to bootloader screen to reflash, it booted windows !
Its now working fine ! I did nothing except charge it.
How very dare it !
Suggest you check the device for bad blocks.
Put the device into bootloader, start mtty.exe
connect to USB and run the command "Info 8".....this will report if the device has bad blocks (three should turn up even on a normal device).
then run "task 2a" to fix any bad blocks that are evident.
It might be worth flashing a new ROM to it to overwrite any corrupted sectors, just as a precautionary measure?
Have you tried hard resetting the device by holding the 2 left and right buttons (below the screen) and then reseting with the stylus?
This will then ask if you want to reset to factory..or if you have a cooked ROM reset back to the cooked ROM?
Helped me out and then promptly re-ROM'd the thing...
Hope this helps.....

Ok had a problem today JASJAM seemed to loose phone reception has done this before , since I had the offical Telstra ROM on there for some time thought I would re-install , however stopped at 12% then was stuck on bootloader, tried the SD card method above get through the IPL , BOOTLOADER SPLASH 1&2 and EXTROM but seems to stay on GSM in the list any ideas as to what the problem maybe?
You need to loas SPL 1.01 MFG, then connect using MTTY.EXE.
after issueing:
USB>task 32 (you will get)
Level = 0 (now issue)
USB>set 14 0
USB>task 8
p.s. if you have other than SPL 1.01 MFG, you may need to use set 16 0 or other value. Do search.
Now the device should boot, if it does not:
Press the soft keys (the ones below CONTACTS and CALENDAR) together with the RESET. The device should go through installing windows procedure.
Good luck.
Simple.
i flashed nfsfans rom, everything went fine but when it restarted it just stays on the verizon bootscreen and wont let me do anything i think its bricked but im not really sure please help me ive tried soft resseting and removing the battery it still does the same thing i dnt know what to do
i had the same problem.. somebody said there was a fix i didnt find it, the problem was probably missing a step in using the unlocker, it asks you to unplug and replug the phone so it can close activesync, i didnt do it and ended up where you are.
i got annoyed after trying to find a fix for an hour or 2 and called verizon because i didnt buy insurance for it, luckily i was still in my year warrant the vogue comes with and they sent me a new 1, i just had to send them my broken one back
its not really bricked i dont think, but verizon couldnt get it to reset from their side so it's considered that way
ya but is obviously no under warrenty any more so what can I do to fix it????

Give us a little more info
what does the SPL in bootloader show?
what radio is showing on the 1st splash screen?
If all else fails place into bootloader and flash a shipped ROM and start over.
yeah. whitey is correct.
what bootloader did you use?
you probably used .41 or .40 unlcoker instead of 2.31.
im kind of a noob how do i find the stuff??
uhh. just go to bootloader mode (quad color screen with seriel when not plugged in and usb when plugged in via usb)
(power+camera+reset hole) then tell us what you see.
just type all of the info on the screen.
alright it says
vogu100
spl-0.36.0000
cpld-3
hmm. i would recommend you downgraded your rom+radio with a nongps rom because you used a nongps unlocker.
use a tnz one
ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/Im...RUU_signed.rar
and then update the radio using 3.42.5 or 3.42.3
-sorry can't find link to exact radio update, but you should update via sd card-
then load stock rom
then unlock with 2.31 unlocker (cokeman's)
then flash custom rom
i installed nfsfANS ROM but i only get date when i make a call it says something about athintcation
is this when you only make a call?
if so. then you call your carrier.
(for verizon its *228)
and press option 1.
idk about sprint, bell, altell. but you need to authorize your phone to make phone calls, receive sms, and use data. in order to use data/send-receive pix messages, you need to use a cab. avalaible here.

Have you tried entering the bootloader and re-flashing with the stock ROM?
If you can't see anything at all on the screen, no splash screens etc, even after soft-reset or entering the bootloader, then it sounds like you have a hardware problem (screen failure).

It's a tricky situation. So if you hold down Volume Down (and keep it held down) and press the reset button, then you still don't have anything come up on the screen ?
How about if you try a hard reset, does anything come up then ? You can hear the phone making sounds, so it seems like it's just the screen ?
Putting the charger in doesn't help, does it ?
You could try flashing a stock ROM from SD card and seeing what happens.
You might well have to send it back under warranty with HardSPL still on. In that case, if it was me, then if they tried to say the warranty was void just because of HardSPL I would argue very strongly against that and ask them to prove it - e.g. how can HardSPL stop your screen working ? I don't know what country you're in, but in the UK I think our consumer protection laws would have something to say about that.

I've never flashed via SD, so I could be wrong on this. But I thought it was still possible. I see that the instructions (in the sticky on flashing ROMs) say to put it into the bootloader and "follow the on-screen instructions". I wonder if it's possible to just wait for a while and then press the appropriate key ? Though I don't know what the "appropriate key" is.
Perhaps someone who has flashed via SD can comment further, e.g. as to whether it's possible to do this without seeing the screen ?

I know it's frustrating, I'd be kinda worried if I had an apparently-non-working screen too. But please be patient, and wait for more people to see your posting. The folks in the US will be coming online around this sort of time, so there will be more people looking in and hopefully someone can help further.
Flash without seeing the screen
Enter boot loader even if you can not see the screen. You can flash your phone to stock then enter boot loader again and hard spl. I had a similar situation and was able to complete the process and warranty repair with AT&T no problems, or you can pay to have it fixed at an outside shop. I was quoted 150 and refused to spend that muck so I flashed the phone without seeing the screen...
I saw your post over on Sergio's thread but decided to answer you here.
You do have a blown screen, no doubt there. How that happened is not really relevant.
My best advise is to connect your phone to your PC and wait for the activesync connection to come up. Once that happens you know you have a good connection and can flash. Run the RUU (or exe) for your stock ROM, the on screen (PC Screen) prompts will let you know if it can't proceed. Once the stock ROM is back on it, follow the same procedure and put the stock SPL back. Then send it off to get the screen replaced.
Hope that helps
Russ

can somebody please help me i need to reflash my phone but i am unable to see anything on my screen when i plug it up to my computer activesync is not working so what can i do please i really need help with this
Flashing witout screen
Step 1
Enter boot loader mode (* Remove the back cover from the phone.
* Hold the Volume Down button.
* Use the stylus to press the reset hole.
* Or if the device was powered off, press the power button whilst holding down the Volume Down button.)
and attach to computer. (wait 30 to 60 seconds)
Step 2
Check device manager for HTC mobile sync under mobile devices.(Active sync will not work in boot loader mode)
Step 3
Flash using Rhodium CustomRUU on your PC. (use original ROM from At&T.
Step 4 repeat for Radio
Step 5 Use Stock_SPL_Restore_087.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550131 repeat the process with it.
This should work it did for me. Let me know if you run into problems.
Hey Geeks,
I need some help and I bet that you could help me!
I ve used the search engine to not post anything someone did before. But there was nothing that could help me.
First I ll describe you what I ve done to brick my Desire HD:
My phone is rooted, S-OFF, ENG S-OFF with CM 7. After installing the new ROM I wasn`t able to install anything from the amrket. So I ve looked up for the reason and tried different things to sovle it. I ve read somewhere that it could help to add a partition to my SD-card. So I ve used the ROM Manager to format my sd card and create a partition.
ROM Manager asked me if I am sure bla bla... you know what I mean. After giving ROM Manager su-permission my phone shuts down. From there on nothing happened. (and still no patition on my sd card).
It`s not reacting to the power button, to the volume-down + power button nor is blinking my LED when I connect it to the USB-Port. Seems like it`s out of energy (but my akku was charged before I ve stzarted with the partition of my sd card).
I ve tried to put out the akku for several minutes. No reaction.
Removing SD-Card before pushing the power button: No reaction
Plug in to charge battery without hitting any button... some hours later: still no reaction
Formating SD-Card: No reaction
Then I ve tried to install the RUU 1.32., saved it on my sd-card, plugged phone in to start... my pc is not detecting my phone.
And now I am helpless
So it doesn't boot at all? Because if it doesn't, you are pretty much screwed...no boot -> no access -> no fix, but I don't believe that you can screw your phone up that badly by partitioning your sd-card.
Unless someone has a fix for this (and the problem doesn't solve itself somehow), your best bet is to send your phone to HTC for a repair, they probably won't charge you anything if it is still covered under warranty, since they can't really check for any modifications if it doesn't boot. It is probably a hardware problem any way.

The fact that it doesn't boot at all is a good thing for send it back for warranty purpose. But if you formated your sd-card, you lost root anyway. You have to make a backup of your SD-Card before you format/partition it, and then copy everything back.
And your initial issue was maybe due to an outdated version of Gapps...
why should he loose root if he formats his sd-card? you have root even without an sd-card.
if nothing helps to get your DHD back to life, you probably have to send it to HTC. but I think it's covered by warranty since it's (probably) a hardware fault.
btw, i think i've seen a thread like this somewhere here yesterday... i'll have a look and post a link if i find something
Edit: found it! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1013582&page=2
look at page 2. there are some people with the same problem, but there is no solution yet.
But you do have CWM-Recovery on it don't you?
And if, can you get into Recovery?
Had similar Problems, once...
But my phone only showed the white HTC Logo and that was it....
What i did was the following... flashed Revory via Fasbootload from Computer...
Next, i formatted my sd card via computer and copied a new Rom.zip onto it.
In my Case, leedroid.
Next, i just flashed it and it happened to work again, luckily.
he can't even boot into the bootloader.

Hardware fault or not, rooting voids warranty. Let's hope that they can't inspect the internal memory.
Anyway, is the phone reacting to connecting to a proper charger (try to leave it plugged in for a couple of hours even if the LED doesn't light up)? The other thing you could try is to find a friend with a DHD and swap the batteries just to try if somehow you managed to kill your battery.
hi Sleipnir1985,
go back to your shop,
when did you buy it? they must take it for service, or they give you new one.
it is only best solution in this case
if you take battery out for 5! min, then plug it in and hold volume down then push power button - nothing happened, this is it, the end...
cheers/

yes, but HTC replaces your phone if it's a hardware and not a software fault. a friend of mine got his DHD replaced with eng hboot, radio S-OFF, custom rom and so on. and lots of people here on XDA also.

I am going to give my HTC to the shop this evening. Push your thumbs that I ll get a new one

I opened the phone to find the part where the battery connects to the phone came off the mother board so i solder it back on put the phone back together and turned it on. It booted up normal and came to the lock screen nothing worked the touch wasn't responding so i push power button to turn screen off and then again to turn it back on and the screen worked. I tried guessing his pattern five time and it didnt work it asked me to sign in to my Google account when the screen came up the phone rebooted and it kept doing it every time i turned it on. So i looked on xda how to restore it tried it and im not sure if it restored or not but it strated boot looping. I tried the flashing the pc10img.zip from the root of the sd card it usually says something like version to new or to old or something it didn't work. My phone is not rooted and i don't think usb debugging is on. Any info you guys want just ask. What can i do? How can i fix it? Please help
I'm going to take a guess, that if the battery connection to the motherboard 'broke off', then it's possible you have other physical issues such as the ribbon cable connecting the screen/digitizer to the rest of the phone.
If it were me I would have sent the phone into HTC for hardware warranty (which you can't do now since you soldered it.).
Can you provide some specific information about the phone, can you get into the boot loader, and if so what exact information do you have there? (USB debugging would be easily turned on under system settings, if you can get into it via the screen).

Thanks for replying i don't think anything else is wrong with the phone all the cables were fine. To begin with warranty was already finished. "Yes", i can get into the boot loader/H boot. I can turn on usb debugging because the phone doesn't boot all the way in to android. When you say information what exactly are you looking for?

Mainly the info that shows up on hboot, and which recovery you have (or 'had') so that might be able to advise some additional steps.

when you first had the phone it won't boot right? but when you tried fixing the battery connection thingy (sorry I don't know whats it called )
it booted and ran again?
have you tried doing a factory reset?
Power button+volume rocker down (volume down button) to boot into bootloader mode then do a factory reset maybe that would work ?

OR
or sending the phone to HTC would help bud but you have to pay them for that if they get to fix it you got yourself a new toy!

Would probably have to stick to the original Stock RUU update since you're S-ON (would need S-OFF for any kind of custom recovery, kernel, unsigned packages, etc), so would have to use a signed full package from T-Mobile, I don't know much bout that because I usually have my phones rooted and away from stock as fast as I can.
What stock rom did you find before? links?

Thats is the above link i used and i used all the ones that start with "PC10" I rename them to PC10IMG.zip so the phone can recognize it and it did. The only problem is that after it tries to install is say something along the lines of version is older or newer since i tried multiple packages. One package was going through the process and after that it didn't do anything, it didnt say failed or reboot or anything like that. Ive been trying to fix this for like a week and a half now. Ive even flashed custom PC10IMG.zip to see if it could help but nothing the furthest ive gotten is the phone boots for like 2 seconds the screen is blurry and the shuts off and there is an orange light in top right that wasn't lighting up before. Here are the links for the custom packages

You would have to much it to your exact carrier/phone, Just flashing whatever you get your hands on can be very very risky.
For example for me being on T-Mobile with a T-Mobile branded G2, I would grab PC10IMG_Vision_TMOUS_1.19.531.1_Radio_12.21.60.09b_26.02.01.15_M2_release_149459_signed.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=971109
(noting the *.15 is the original radio my device was shipped with, though I've upgraded to the newer *.19)
I of course have no intention to returning to complete stock, but it's usually the only course of action for most people stuck with S-ON (and then would look into exploiting/unlocking/rooting again from there).

Though ideally using an actual IRC client will work much nicer than a web chat one.
Same problem, but desire z S-ON
Hey guys.
I have the same problem with the boot loop /semi brick. Expect I never had any problem before, with the phone. I have tried taking out the sd card, starting it agian. I have tried without simcard. I have tried to flash the ROM with RUU_Vision_Gingerbread_S_HTC_WWE_2.42.405.2_Radio_12.56.60.25_26.10.04.03_M_release_199043_signed
via Hboot Fastboot USB PLUG mode (which was the only mode the aplication was progressing in until it want to restart the phone in bootloader), but the phone frezzes and the aplication on the computer just keep working, without progress.
The factory reset just frezzes the phone.
The only thing reali seem to not frezze the phone is the revocery option. Here the phone react with restart showing a image of a phone with two green arrows bent around, over the phone. then it turns off the display and vibrate 4-5 times, og stays turn off not reacting to anything other then taking out the battery and you can start the phone once again.
