Plz, learn you how to read.
Third post into the main thread. C'mon. I encourage you to read everything you can from the first three posts in this thread. If you're still just completely confused, we will try and help... but if you can't help yourself, what's the point in us helping you?
If you just search and go through the forums it's all in there..
for someone with as many posts I would think you have already read how to install this on your Touch Pro(aka Raphael). Like people before me have said it is all in the topic in this forum. If you need more assistance please contact me at [email protected] or just pm me.

Uh... What? I understand Android is new to you and others, but I did a LOT of reading about how it works before I even asked one question. That's all we ask, search, read, absorb... and then if you're still stuck, ask. But just flailing your arms and saying "help me help me" isn't going to get you anywhere. Especially on the internet.

If you've gone through the process of learning yourself how to have WM ROMs, the process to learn how to load these Android OS's is significantly easier.

Sorry the love has been wasted by the 1000 or so other newbies that came before you.
You can only awnser the same questions so many times before blowing a gasket and venting all over some inocent noob. As you have just joined you wont quite understand yet, but after beeing here for a year or more you will see that this patern gets repeated a few times a day in almost every new post. It gets a bit much when people expect to have everything handed to them with out spending a few hours doing it for them selves. Trust me you will learn so much more and enjoy XDA devs lot more if you do.

PLEASE do as jasjammin has said and read the wiki and use the search function before asking any more questions. My guides (in my sig) will help you along the way but please do some research bewfore doing anything, this is why the announcement says "Read before posting".

Actually it wasn't me that asked originally. I just was reading through the threads and seen your post. I understand your point but I always thought of this site as being a friendly place to get information about HTC phones..

Actualy this IS a very friendly place to FIND answers for the HTC's ...
that is exactly what other members are saying... try to look for (read) and that way you will find, if don't find anything or dont understand, then ask and I'm sure someone will help you...
It is not the same if you post something like: "How do I upgrade..." when there is even a complete guide for doing it; than if you post "I dont understand the step x on the guide... " what I mean is that if after search and read you dont understand or dont find an answer this guys will sure help you find a solution...

It would get the point across in a more friendly way, while also, and more importantly, maintaining the rep of this site as a friendly-to-noobs forum. There are lots of forums out there that moderators and members are simply not very helpful.
On the flipside, if you can't find such a unique term as "touchflo" in this forum, you really aren't trying.
But here it is anyways: a ROM by duttythroy with it integrated, or this thread has what you need, which works on most any ROM. Enjoy.

There's a difference between beeing friendly to newbs and spoonfeeding them. I will gladly help out newbs that have questions and are willing to do whatever they're trying to do, themselves. But I will not treat them like a baby that needs its a** wiped for them. You know what I mean ?

I could understand if he is constantly doing it. Or posting multiple threads. But he just started here. People are allowed at least one pass, or at least they should IMO. Help him, but make it known he should search first next time. Unfortunately, not everyone reads the rules and etiquette for the forum. Doesn't mean we should totally shut them down.

Dude, look up top at the stickys. There is one that's all about the hermes. That's where myself and a lot of the jokers around here got started. Follow it and you will be fine. You can find the help you need, but first you need to help yourself.
Just a hint, Hard SPL your phone 1st!!!!

Why would there be posts about a bricked phone? There's info to read about how to "unbrick" you phone too
I typically ignore "Help me" or "I have a problem" subjects... Although I did look at this one and was going to bash the OP for not being descriptive.

However I have kids at home and I know for a fact that when they do something the wrong way, I don't just let them do it the wrong way and encourage them !!!
I pointed him/her the right way and was rude just enough to show him/her that it is NOT the right approach in this/any technical forum.
This is not just a chit-chat IRC room or am I wrong !
I reserve the right NOT to tolerate the frivolous attitude of newbies even at the risk of being banned.

I understand your right, but as you just said when your kids are wrong you tell them that they are wrong. Nothing wrong with that, but you then said you were rude just enough to show that it is not the right way to do it. Why not just tell them that without being rude?

Hello XDA Community, i am building my first rom and started looking for some kind of guide. But i have failed only to find guides for other devices, so it seems ill be on my own(exception of XDA Community).
So a nice rundown or guide or even PM me
Here are some questions that i have
1.What is lOPl that is after their member status, what does it stand for?
2.what linux is reccomended
3.what tools are needed

All of which a google search would have helped you out. This is development section so I understand why you posted this here. But I think you should take a step back since given those three questions could have been found out on your own, shows you have no self motivation yet. Development is a community effort I agree, but there isn't much hand holding. Posting this only showed that your looking for someone to do it for you. That isn't the way to go.

Linux distro: not necessary, but many like Ubuntu (I have used Red Hat for a long time)
Tools: Download a kitchen if you just want to build roms, otherwise ask specific questions on what it is you are looking to do and usually someone here can either get you what you want.....or at least point you in the right direction.
And yes, this should have been posted in Q&A

Then maybe he will next time direct his "lazy" questions to the Q&A. Sorry I'm a blunt person. If you want you can look through the 3000 pages on the compile GB thread I posted and look at the tons of advice I give. You can also see me tell people the truth, some people don't like it. Some people get it, understand what I am telling them, and better themselves.

no, i know it wont make me a dev, but it will get me some dirt knowledge of somethings. Now that i have that i can go dig up on all the rest of this. I do agrree that no hand holding is required, but i am goiing to need a push off that swing. i know this is not a weekend thing, but i thank you for giving me a stick to dig.

Brushed my teeth this morning but thanks for the advice. Seems you always need that last little word in there somewhere which is fine because not offense taken by your comments. I just made my first rom two days ago took a month but the people on here a very helpful even if they are blunt lol I think they give the best help because they make you.think.about if you seriously want to become a dev the nice ones are also great help I don't think.the community would be as strong.if we didn't have blunt people that the nice people get into it with. They kinda go hand and hand lol they give helpful info when arguing and not even realize.
