HTC Home Weather unable to retrieve data

Lately when I try to get my weather using HTC Home weather the program attempts to download the weather but then displays a message stating it is unable to retrieve data for selected city. It does this using the default database and custom db. The program used to work fine the suddenly started doing this. I didn't change any settings or anything like that either.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
I figure something with Accuweather website changed and HTC home needs to be updated but I can't figure out how . I search of the forums and didn't find anything. I can however still go to Accuweather on the phone's browser and get the weather.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I was going to say, sounds like you've been using my old IP accuweather translator. You mention "custom DB" - does that mean you were using a home customizer program?
I no longer support the IP method for weather translation.
Hi, This is my first post and I hope that you guys can help me. I have the HTC home weather loaded into my ROM. Everything worked great up until a week ago. Now I am no longer able to pull weather data via my wireless connection. I get the "unable to retrieve" error. I am however able to pull the weather data when connected via activesync. Any ideas?
Thanks
So some one else is having trouble also
Glad I'm not the only one.
N2A: I'm using whatever HTC weather component vp3G placed in his ROM, nothing else.
For some reason I am now able to get weather using cities in the default database again but still not able to get my custom db weather
Thanks to those who have taken the time to read post and respond

Weather missing from Calendar day view

The weather has stopped appearing in the calendar day view and I have no idea why. I can't find any menu options to get it back. Anyone got any ideas?
Displaying of weather depends on configuration of local time in calendar, local time put on city, name of city in panel of weather in setups of local times like

I'd noticed this had happened on my phone as well, I suspect it's related to software I've installed but I've not had the time ( or motivation) to hard reset and start again one app at a time.

I had the same issue. Discovered it is related to the clock setting. If you select GMT time it will no longer display the the weather on the day view of the calendar tab. If you set your time by city it displays the weather (for the following 4 days.).

weather widget

mine has stopped updating for the region I live in but works fine for the cities that it has installed. It is coming up with a message "No weather data available", it was working fine until today ???
Just wondered if anybody was having the same problem ???
Cheers
Dave
I am in Cleethorpes at the moment and have tried a reboot
But London, Paris etc all work ???
Weather app for current location is kind of flakey, sometimes it displays mine sometimes it doesn't.
I changed my weather widget to show a set location by removing it and then adding it again so that it always shows the weather near me.
Apart from it thinking one of the places I am in is somewhere else with the same name 15-20C warmer it's been working fine on my phone.

Does anybody know how to ask for threads to be merged?
I received my phone on 29th, and I too haven't been able to update current location on widget from day 1 but other cities can be updated. It too says the same message of "No weather data available"!!
maybe simply all the services havent been launched yet since the desire officially isnt out yet?

[Q] Weather Widget not keeping 5 day forecast

I have looked all over and others have many issues, but i can't find one that is specific to mine, so here we go:
1: the weather no longer shows up in the calendar and yes, i do have that setting checked
2: the weather widget only keeps the 5 day forecast if i am connected to the internet. once i am not, it loses it and i have no weather info.
here is what i am thinking... i have the settings to update automatically and i have it to update every 3 hours. what i have noticed though is that when i am connected to the internet and i click on the weather widget from the clock to see the 5 day forecast, the weather updates by itself, every time.
so i think my issue is that it keeps trying to update my current location but if no internet, then it shows nothing.
i should also mention, that if i add a location, it keeps the weather info.
no clue what to do. i have removed widget, put back, took off update, made it once a day, put back.. tried everything, so wide open for suggestions. it worked fine for 2 months and now.. problems.

Weather widget doesn't update location

Hi guys.
My HTC One X stopped updating locations in the HTC weather widget even though it is checked in the menu and there is WIFI connection.
Any Ideas guys?
Google location services must also be turned for that.
Nop... That's on as well
Don't worry about it just yet. The HTC locations service misbehaves sometimes. It might come back.
If you wanted to, you could clear the data from the weather and location service apps and reboot and see if it starts working after a while.
Are you having this issue at the time i am writing this?

He wrote it 11 hours ago.
Yeah... i asked this because i was having this issue since yesterday but it seems to be working fine since last 3-4 hours.
Thanks guys,
I'll try it know... It just bothers a bit when it doesn't update...
Hi,
I seem to have the same or a similar problem. If I keep GPS turned off then my location gets reported correctly on the weather widget. However, if I turn on GPS for locations then it gets messed up and changes to "Current location".
The only way to get it to recover is to stop the HTC Locations service and clear its data. Then reboot the phone.
This is a real pain as I use the GPS quite a lot for mapping etc.
Does anyone know if there is a way to stop this happening in the first place?
Thanks.

Chk thi out buddy..mit work for u as well..worked for my HTC OneV..though location sercive still is an issue...
anyways go thru this..
1. I changed the app to home location. And of course it said home location was set until I got to the main screen where it still had an old location where I traveled to a few days earlier.
2. I took out the battery turned power back on. Still same problem.
3. Then I pressed down and held my weather clock widget on my main page and dragged it to the garbage.
4. Went to the main screen, found and empty spot and held down for the widgets to appear.
5. Scrolled to the clock widget, chose the weather clock combo again.
6. Chose my home location.
7. Looked at the main screen and WHOALA! It was working again.
8. Note that in my situation I did not have to uninstall the app.
another alternative...
Go to Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications.
Then go to 'All' and scroll down to 'HTC Weather sync provider'.
Select 'Clear Data'.
Then Select 'Force Stop'.
Then go to your home screen and restart the weather app by tapping under the time and then update the weather. The weather should now be available on the homescreen.
Anyone else having problems with the HTC weather not syncing recently?
I've recently had trouble with using Google as the provider for Beautiful Widgets. It's fine since changing to Accuweather!

I don't suppose this will apply to yours; but I have a rooted sensation, and I decided that the "HTCLocationsWidget3d.apk" was surplus to requirement.
This is needed for the weather; upon reinstalling the file the locations updated correctly.
Hello
I am facing the same problem as ppl described here and all over the android and htc forums. None of this works for me. Or no. It works for couple of hrs, a day maybe and then again goes back to Current Location.
The interesting thing is when the weather stop to update my location, facebook wont find me also. But Sygic works fine, Google maps also. Having this in mind I can say that my GPS works fine. So the problem is in HTC/Google things.
