Hi, I am noticing that my battery life is very short. I have to charge my phone atleast twice a day. Last night I watched a program on my phone which was forty minutes long. After that my battery was already 60 percent about. However.now, in the morning, I woke up and checked one thing on the internet by 3g and now my battery is already 40 percent. Why is this .... I know that battery life on here is not good but mine seems worse.
Is anyone getting the same?

- Do you always synchronize?
- Do you enable data connection?
- Do you connected to the Wi-Fi all the time?
I swear my battery life is far far better since i put that Generic rom on, maybe the minor updates htc have released help battery life ?
Maybe the update will fix the battery life issue? We'll see when it rolls out on t-mobile handsets.
Other people have reported excellent battery life (mine only arrived today) and it seems to improve over time. How long have you had it?
I had mine 1 week today was originally on the T-Mobile rom and have had terrible battery life up to even yesterday, updated to the Generic Rom yesterday and it honestly seems to last longer now.

I was waiting for someone to report this before I did .. I too was originally on the T-mobile ROM and updated to the Generic ROM. I didn't notice any increase in battery life. In fact I didn't notice any changes apart from the minor T-mobile branding having gone.
Yesterday I did the OTA update and again didn't notice any changes. I did this morning though, in 10 hours the battery only dropped 4%. Of course the phone hadn't been used in that time and I have wi-fi and bluetooth switched off but I am sure this is a lot better than I was getting.
Maybe the OTA update has improved battery life. Let's hope so.

Yes to without T-Mobile stuff.
You can download it in the Android Dev Desire section on here. There are extra steps to take.
It WILL void your warranty.
Anyone that got their phone direct from T-Mob will NOT have it unless they did it manually. And by that i mean manually flash generic rom then update.
I noticed my battery is better but it's only one day. And i never really had a problem with it. I charge once a day anyways.

Advantages. The phone is as it would come straight from the manufacturer. You will always receive updates for the device before Vodafone, O2,T-Mob etc would have them ready.
If the phone was lost then yes. If damaged...probably not but if it develops a fault you can always drop it in a drink and claim on he insurance...bit dodgy like!
My battery life story
So, I downloaded the brut Google nav mod the other day and haven't had a chance to use it until today. Took a journey which took about one hour, and made sure that my battery was fully charged before I went. I still hooked up the phone to the car charger though, to save power. One thing I noticed about charging the desire, however, is that if it identifies the battery as being already full when you connect a charger, the indicator light stays green, so doesn't top up even when you have been using it for a while. I noticed this about 20 minutes into my journey by which time the battery must have gone down quite a bit. Removing then replacing the charger sorted the problem and the Orange light indicated that it was charging again. By the time I got to my destination the battery was at about 50%.
On the return journey, I hooked up the phone again, turned on Google nav and set off. About 30 minutes into the journey I stopped off at a petrol station to grab some snacks, checked the battery and read 17%! Even though it was supposed to be charging the whole time!! I then got a message saying that the power from the car wasn't enough to charge the phone and I should attach AC power ASAP, which I obviously couldn't as I was in the car. I ignored it, got home safely enough, disconnected the charger and then watched the phone die .
Ok, so I was using gps and 3G which clearly uses up power and I guess Google nav is fairly processor hungry, but I would assume that having it connected to the car charger would be enough. Coming from a tocco ultra, I'm used to rubbish batteries, but at least that would charge up in a car.
Don't get me wrong, I still love the phone, but I just need to know if this is gonna be a regular issue, or something that can be sorted out with a Rom update.
Just for info, I've had my desire for nearly a week now on TMO using the old Rom. And, the car was Passat estate which is in very good nick, so I doubt that was the problem.

I would look if the charger really charges the phone or if it drains it also when not using GPS/Nav etc.
Reason I'm saying this is that I once bought a charger that actually drained the battery instead of charging it, while it worked fine on my older Nokia phone. I'm assuming the phone deactivates some power saving features because it thinks it's hooked up to a charger, but at the same time the charger is too weak to actually charge it.
I have not used branded rom before on this phone but the htc rom battery life is fine. Mine has been going for three days with usage fine

intresting my battery last a day
I just started charging 2nd time my battery and it lasted hmm since about 2pm till 15% at about 00.00 which is pretty much 10hours of heavy use. i did leave it on sleep for about 2 hours though and i left it at 25% and after that it had 25-24 % lol so if you turn all the updates off it will last quite a lot i guess
I rang up T-Mobile today (tech support) to ask about the lack of update considering the rom was behind the non carrier phones at the start and then an update too. They said they do work on them when they see a notable difference worth updating.
Anyway, I also said I was incredibly dissatisfied with the battery and how long it lasted and wondered if it could be to do with the ROM being well behind the stock HTC one. The tech support guy was excellent and very helpful. He said that with the type of battery in the Desire, you need to make sure you have it on a MAINS charger from quite low for a good couple of 14 hour sessions with the phone off. This builds up the charge for the battery and you should see a marked improvement. He said that most people don't bother to do that and as a result get poor performance.
He did say him and 4 members of his team have the same phone and while some of his team had battery issues he didn't. The main reason being that he had spent a few days not taking it to work and running it down in the evening then giving it three 14 hour chargers. He said that made a huge difference.
He also said if I was dissatified to a point of big frustration they would replace the phone or refund. Can't ask fairer than that

UPDATE BELOW
So here I am sitting here on the verge of a fit that would not be good to have at work.
I went to my friends last night (a pro at android phones) and was hanging out with him. I brought up the fact that I have been having REAL BAD battery life. So he takes my phone and looks at it running some tests. He proceeds to look up at me and states " you better call t mobile and get them to send you another phone." *swears like a raving loony* This is after running the battery dead and leaving it on the charger for 8 hours to condition the battery. When he said that to me by the way he explained that my phone is searching for a signal 55% of the time and that is what may be eating up my power. NOW, I know for a FACT that I have a 100% signal all day long... I live next to a t moe cell tower and work next to one also.... and during my commute I have 100% signal.
I guess what I am asking here is has anyone else seen this happening on their phone? I also noticed after my buddy downloaded a system monitor that the CPU is running at 100% all the time. Common sense with computers tells me BAD BAD BAD.
Why am I so upset over this you ask? Well, the service of t moe's signal and quality of the network of where I live is GREAT! However I have had BAD luck with all the phones I have since I have been with t-moe. The Rzr: sent that back about 8 times ( went and got a windows phone with my own money after that), the BB 8900: 5 times, and now all this BS with the G2 after just having it a month is getting to be a friggen P.I.M.A.
I know they are going to want to send me just the guts of the phone and not a new one.... I WANT A BRAND NEW PHONE! I am sick of referbys. It's a waste of my time and money to be driving to the [email protected] mail box to drop off the return.

Update people:
Yesterday when I got home I called T moe and talked to a Retention CS. I went right to the top. The lady I spoke with was either blowing sunshine up my arse or she was telling the truth so take it as you read it here I guess.
So first thing I did was explain to her (nicely btw) of all the issues I have had in the past with all my other phones I have owned with them. Of course she did sound concerned. I also went on to tell her that if we do go to the point of sending me a replacement that I wanted a new boxed phone and none of that crap in a UPS box with stuffing.
After some conversation and questioning of my phones history she advised me that:
1. The issues that I (and others) are having are known issues and they are well aware of it and are working closely (In bed with them?) with HTC about it and should be seeing an OTA soon with a fix. ( I will believe it when I see my phone).
2. I figured since I had her on the phone and laughing that I would press the issues of the teathering rumor... Now again take this with a grain of salt if you wish but the details she told me leads me to believe that she is very up to date on what is going on. She stated that in fact they are working on developing something about charging for teathering... I didn't press the outside apps for teathering though. She stated that it would not be a contract thing and that you could activate and deactivate it as needed on your account so that you were not always paying each month for it if your not using it.
3. Battery draining issues. Solution..... Sent me a new battery via next buisness day shipping. Said I had a bad battery.... Also told me not to keep the phone plugged in since that is the fastest way to kill your battery and that I should discharge it and rechage it as needed.
So there ya go people. Again take it how you want but I hope me spending this time typing this out helps. ( my boss is paying me to type to you guys )

Yeah I will sooner or later.... I just dont want to deal with it right now since I spent a total combined time of 4.5 hours on the phone fighting with them about my order for the G2.... I don't know how much longer I can be nice on the phone

Try going to settings, applications, manage applications, and check and see which apps are tuning in the background. If an app is piling a load of data then that could be what is killing your battery.

Already done and done..... Only the basic componants of the phone are running and a few things I am always using handcent SMS, Beuty widgets.... and batt watcher.
Did you try a factory reset and not install ANY apps. Maybe that beauty widgets is killing your battery or batt watcher. Or you may have a defective battery.
my wife phone the 1st day battery ran out real quick but maybe because she was texting to much but i use my brightness at 100% and i wak up at 9 and lasts me to like 10-11pm and about 40min of uno played
Well my wifes phone is running the same widgets and programs that I am.... I take that back shes running 3 times the ammount I am..... and her bat lasts her all day and then some...
In the beginning my phone had the same problem too..but now its way better I use to recharge my phone twice a day but not nomore..I think just wait it out..that's what I did..and my friend also just bought this phone and she's having the same problem..I think its just when there brand new it does this

Other days (twice now) the battery, on the same setting, with the same usage,
drained obnoxiously fast!
This phone has some serious schizophrenic issues.
Battery Question:
Is the Tmobile G2 Battery 1300 mAh? ir 1400 mAh?
Only asking because I went through three G2 reviews and they all list it as 1300 mAh, however the HTC Desire Z coming here to Canada is listed as 1400 mAh... ?
Wait, how am I supposed to not keep it plugged in? I plug mine in before I go to bed and unplug it when I wake up. Am I supposed to wake up an hour and a half into every night's sleep to unplug my delicate phone? Why the hell don't they just have it stop charging the battery once it hits 100%?
I am 9 days in on my fourth G2 and until this morning i believed I had a keeper. By a pure twist of luck I did not have to get up at 5:30 am so as to arrive at the tennis courts to give lessons. Upon arising at 7:20 am I found that my battery had gone from 100% to 1% and turned itself off. The phone was in standby when I retired to bed and had not been used the entire night.. Obviously the alarm had not gone off and the phone was unusable. Upon plugging it into a charger it still would not boot up. After waiting 15 minutes and letting it charge I tried again and it did boot up and showed 60% of battery. I have never ever had a battery charge to 60% in just 15 minutes. Upon checking battery usage I found the following: Android system 27% Shop Savvy 23% voice calls 35% Display 11% phone idle 4%. I had not made a phone call and had not launched any apps. I certainly had not used Shop Savvy and the display had been off. I have noticed recently that upon waking the phone up I would be running various apps which I had not launched. I use my cell as my alarm so I cannot keep it if it is not dependable or is acting erratically. Has anyone else had this scenario happen? I have been reluctant to give up on this phone but after 4 units all with issues I guess its decision time. NOTE it just dropped 19 % in less than 3 minutes while in standby, with no apps being launched by me and the phone just sitting there in sleep mode. Just tried to access the market and no go. I am experiencing only G or E where I normally have good 3G or H. Perhaps this is T Mobile and not the phone but this happens way too much and does not occur with my Vibrant or Nexus One.

I've had my new desire z about 2 weeks now, and am utterly dissapointed by a frankly dreadful battery life.
It's my second DZ, given the original was nicked, but (kicks self) wasn't insured, so was purchased from a supplier that shipped my phone from Hong Kong (I live in UK, and the new phone is an identical model, except for a slight difference in key layout - A2727 I think is model number)
The original phone would give me over two days life with very low use, which i considered to be fair for a decent smart phone.
The new phone barely gives me 10 hours with no use. I've done a couple of tests - unplugged it at 2am, but 8am it's at 30% or lower. This was done with all data connections turned off.
If i leave the new phone to go dead then that's it - it won't charge. The only way i've found to get juice back into the battery is to hold it in my old touch-pro 2 until it's charged enough to charge from the desire.
Last night was the clincher. I've gone out with some friends to the pub. I had a conversation over it, and checked my battery life - 42%. As a last dith effort i factory reset the phone at that point to rule out a mischevious app, and checked - 39%
Within 2 hours, and with no use at all that was down at 8%. In order to avoid the charge issue i cut my losses and turned it off at that point. Once home (oh, about 4 hours later maybe) I was unable to turn it back on. I then left it plugged in overnight, and was still unable to turn it on this morning until i'd done my cross-phone charging trick.
I'm now entirely convinced there's some form of hardware issue at fault here, so i'm wondering if anyone else has had the same problem with this phone before? I see lots of thread regarding poor battery life, but most seem to be solved by turning data off or some rouge app, neither of which are an issue in this case. Also, any hints for making my life easier when I phone HTC tomorrow? I've read elsewhere their support might not be all it should be.

I think you should get a new battery to rule out that the battery itself isn't a problem. I had similar issues with my G1 a while back and it solved a lot of wierd, seemingly unrelated problems. Batteries are pretty cheap online, $15 or so and some are free shipping.
The way that I figured out my battery was toast was by comparing it to other batteries. it had a bulge in the center where it should have been flat. Fingers crossed it isn't hardware.
had already tried a diff battery (did you know you can chew a corner off a touch pro 2 battery and make it fit??) Which i know worked fine in the old nicked dz and imo as i was getting same issue ruled out battery problem.
anyway... phone has now been returned and i'm waiting 2-3 weeks to get it repaired under warranty (though am hoping for complete replacement obviously)

I'm having the exact same problem... When you take you shutdown to recharge a dead battery, does it sometimes try to turn back on? I left my apartment like 30m ago with 100% battery, and I'm at 84% and declining. There's nothing running. And I've replaced the battery, same issue.
I think I might just RMA this one.. seems like an engineering issues.
Edit: I'm the 40 seconds it took me to type this, battery dropped to 82%.
Wanted to bump this post. I've since wiped / reloaded and wiped battery stats. It's still jacked. I think it's an internal electrical thing. Reason is: I'll power down to take the battery out. When I put the other one in, it'll turn back on. Or if I power down to charge, it'll turn back on - plugged in or not. I don't want to deal with the RMA process again, but I think it's my only choice. I've taken two phone calls this AM @ 100%, and it's at 96% now. Drives me insane. Ugh... I'll call TMO. Anyone know if the replacements are still rootable?
So... I had my phone replaced, and it's still doing the horrid battery thing. Flashed CM 7.1 RC3 or w/e the latest is, cycled one battery - and it drops like a stone. I have two chargers (one at work, one at home) and they both charge the phone up to 100%. But it's still losing battery life quicker than I'd like. I used to be able to get a good 18 hours out of this phone. Even with a new battery and a new phone, it's acting up. I'll try to flash an older ROM and see if it's the same thing. I updated to #130 nightly from 7/10. We'll see how it lasts today. But I do remember I had horrible luck with CM's ROM's on my G1. Battery would just drain for no reason. The main process taking up the most battery life is "Cell standby" so I changed to the latest radio - and it still drops. OP - have you figured out your problem? I've removed a ton of apps, and it's still messing up. I listen to music for... 45m in the AM, and I get down to 54%. I've formatted my SD Card as well.. it's driving me insane.
I just flashed CM 7.1 a few days ago and while the ROM is great, it does seem to be a litter harder on my battery than 6.1 was. With light/moderate usage yesterday, I got about 16 hours and that was running the battery almost completely dead. With heavy usage, I get about 10 hours and need a bump charge in the afternoon.
You might want to look into getting a Mugen 1800mah battery. You can get them on Ebay from 35-40 dollars. The seller 'nakedcellphone' is based out of Southern California and another user has confirmed ordering from them and getting a legitimate battery (lots of fakes on Ebay). Either that, or carry a charger with you...
Have you tried using Watchdog to see if there are any 'rogue' apps that are causing the drain by running in the background? What about going to spare parts > battery history > Partial Wake usage? There it will show apps that are draining your battery when you're not 'actively' using your phone. For me, the Android System is the highest drain in that menu. Good luck! Hope some of this helps!
I just checked spare parts, and there's nothing too odd in there. Just my music app. And I've changed that too - thought Winamp was killing me. I'll check Watchdog. This is a brand new OEM battery along with an RMA'd G2. It has to be the OS / Radio or something. I've stripped like every non-essential app too.
Quick story that may help some other people:
I bought my Verizon Galaxy Nexus used on Craigslist. It was a good deal. Right away I bought the extended OEM battery as well as the Seidio extended battery. The first thing I noticed was that battery drain was unusually fast. I'm no noob to Android phones, and a few of my prior phones had bad reps for battery life (HTC Incredible, Samsung Nexus S, HTC Thunderbolt), but this was something special. For the first time in my life I felt the need to use Juice Defender, and that was only marginally helpful.
I never minded with the other phones because I would use the largest battery available, charge on my 40 min commute to work, charge on the commute home, and everything would be fine. The problem with the Galaxy Nexus is that not only would it drain fast. It would take unusually long to charge, espcially when using during a charge.
The next thing I noticed was that the phone was getting very hot, especially in the top left corner, even when it wasn't doing much. Turning off LTE seemed to help but not much. After a couple months of use, trying ROM after ROM, kernel after kernel, reverting to stock, etc, things took a turn for the worse. I would go to sleep with a pretty good charge and wake up the next morning with a dead battery. Sometimes the battery was so dead it wouldn't even take a charge.
I called Samsung, and they were very responsive. Even though I wasn't the original owner and had no proof of purchase, they paid shipping both ways and had my phone repaired and back in my hands within a week. The paperwork that came with the repaired phone just said that a "component" had been "replaced". I called and asked them which component was replaced, but they couldn't give me any more details than that.
My repaired phone gets warm sometimes, even very warm, but I haven't noticed that hot upper left corner. Meanwhile, the battery life is night and day better than it has ever been. I can get through the day fine with the Samsung OEM extended battery, and the Seidio lasts damn long like it should but never did. The batteries now charge much faster as well. I can finally enjoy this phone like it's supposed to be enjoyed, and I have no more thoughts about upgrading some time soon.
Maybe Samsung just has amazing customer service, but the speed with which they handled this as a warranty repair makes me wonder if this is a known issue on their end. In Googling for a solution to my problems, I came across other reports of people who found their battery suddenly dead, unable to take a charge.
Here's my advice: If your battery life is atrocious - and I mean atrocious even with the screen pretty dim, no accounts syncing, LTE disabled, factory stock with no apps installed...
and you find your Galaxy Nexus taking a long time to charge (using the OEM charging cable)...
and your G-Nex gets super hot in the upper left corner even when it isn't doing anything...
then try sending it in for a warranty repair. The phone I bought on Craigslist was defective, and after struggling with it for months, all it took was a one week repair and I'm 100% content. It's a completely different phone.

I've had the exact same issue recently, phone would get extremely hot especially with the screen on. Never had it not charge, but it would never stay at 100% very long while charging. Screen on time was pathetic and usually not much more than about 30 minutes.
Today, I decided on a whim to completely drain off my battery, phone wouldn't even turn on when I was done. Recharged to full with it off and it's running cool as a cucumber. 7.5 hours since I took it off charge and an hour of screen on with a bit of streaming over LTE and I'm still at 53% battery (whether that's good or not is questionable, but it's a massive improvement for me.)
Am I positive that's what fixed my phone? No, not at all. If it starts acting up again I'll probably talk to Sammy about a replacement, but for now I'm happy.

that's kinda bit questionable still. just an hour of screen time and almost half of battery means there's still a huge space for improvement
Almost half of that was streaming on LTE and in general being an attempt at eating battery and causing the heat issue to come back. Coupled with the fact that I live in the boonies and my signal is never stellar, I'm fairly happy with the time.

Totally different outcome for me...
I had the exact same issue; slow charging, horrible battery life (even after a new battery and a factory reset). After two weeks without my phone, today I got it back. Not only did I get the same phone back (based on the serial number) I got the *same battery* back. This was also the result of a "replaced component" (which no one could tell me what it was).
edit: I should add, I bought this phone new from Google directly. It worked great from May until September when this problem suddenly started happening. Prior to September, I could easily get 2 days out of a charge with my typical usage. After it broke, I was lucky to get 8 hours, even while the phone was ~80% idle. You can see in the screen shot that the phone was burning around 8.8% an hour even while completely idle. I mentioned all this to the person who created the service request, but obviously that didn't make a difference.

I'm so disappointed, but I'm not even sure where to start. I will not go without my phone for another two weeks. I'm going to call tomorrow and see what they'll do, but for now I'm more than a little pissed off.
I'm on my third GN and they've all had this problem I replaced the first 2 directly from Sprint. Pretty fed up with the phone. Friends of mine have this phone and don't have any issues at all... what are the odds that I were to get 3 defective phones in a row?
I'd consider going through Samsung for warranty, but I can't go without a phone for up to 2 weeks.
Sorry you two have had such a bad experience. My replacement Nexus continues to be terrific. While my Nexus was in the shop, I used my old phone (Thunderbolt) and enjoyed the change during that time.

Samsung tech sux.. i had the samsung captivate glide sent it in 2 times and they have yet to fix the prob.. the first time i sent it in they replace the main board, and when they put it back together they drove a screw up through the keyboard.. and still sent it to me like that.. the second time i sent it back, i mentioned what they did to my phone, they said they would fix it but they didnt..
Samsung is the worst.. bla bla bla
Hopefully i dnt have probs with my nexus. Ive only had it 2 weeks though.. so we'll see

I read your story but immediately figured out the problem. If you charge the phone only on the car charger, you'll have problems. Most of the time it affects the battery though

At no time was I charging only on the car charger with this phone.

I too never used a car charger, I don't even own one.

I too am having problems with my galaxy nexus, its burning threw battery almost one or two percent every 2 minutes, even while phone is on idle, is there a number for Samsung you can provide that I can call to see if I can fix this problem?
Hey guys, just got the phone on Saturday. It's been awesome until today. I noticed it has been draining super fast. I put it on the charger and it would not charge past 89%, and at 89% it said there was 1m left until full. I turned off the phone and let it charge to 100%, but when I turned it on it almost immediately dropped to 90%.
What could be the issue? Do you think a simple factory reset could fix it, or should I take the phone back to Best Buy for a new one?

This just started happening to me as well.
My phone will say fully charged, and when I unplug it will immediately drop to ~91-93%. Not sure if it's a faulty battery or what not, as I too have been using the wireless charger and block given to me with the phone.
I'm going to Best Buy during my lunch today to see if they have any idea and will update if there's any useful news.
that is weird. I haven't had the issue on mine, though I only charge with a USB cable (I don't have a wireless pad). From my rooting days, there is a battery config file that remembers things like battery charging history, so a factory reset might be useful, though it's a painful process to get a phone back up and customized fully after a reset.
Hopefully best buy has a better answer...though it might be as simple as replacing the phone, to which a factory reset might have been easier...
Anchor - how is the battery life on your phone?
I think my battery might be a defective one as I can barely get through half of a day with 1 1/2 hours of SOT - and that includes taking several steps to try to maximize battery life.
Just a quick update:
Stopped by Best Buy today and talked to a surprisingly knowledgable Samsung person. He said I'm the second person with an issue like this and believes it's a faulty battery, so they're going to give me a new phone.
To my knowledge this is the only explanation as my battery was lasting half a day.
Same here... I just got this phone yesterday and the battery drains very quick. I will return it and get the htc M9.

Final Update: Battery has been much much better on the new phone. Previously I'd be around 50% by lunchtime and today I'm at 85% with nearly the exact same use.

Ever since I upgraded to Marshmallow, the phone is shutting off at 35%.
If I plug it into a fast charger it'll start back up. Non fast charger forget it. Battery shows 35% when I plug it in to charge.
Took it to Best Buy after speaking to an AT&T tech. The Samsung rep at BB, said he ran some recovery software to check for missing or corrupted files associated with the upgrade. It appeared that they just reinstalled the 6.01 update.
Anyways it did nothing and the Samsung tech said I could try doing a factory reset or maybe try a new battery. He then said that if the problem started after the the MM update, then that's the issue. He mumbled something about the phone just wasn't able to handle MM blah blah blah.
ATT offered to ship me a new phone with a working upgrade.
Before I go that route or try a factory reset, I thought I'd check here for other ideas.
Not happy with the phone since the MM upgrade. Along with the phone shutting off issue, it's shutting off while charging on my wireless charger, phone screen is screwed up in landscape mode and doesn't show any of the buttons that show in portrait mode.
Is there a battery calibration app that will run on this without root?
I'm a computer tech, with a VZW N4. I popped over here to see if I could help a friend with the ATT N4. Looks like he's stuck without root, but saw your post and decided to reply.
I always recommend installing 'Battery Left Widget' from the Play Store and use it on the main screen. If you want to test the battery... do the following. But I'd recommend getting a new battery. It's most likely the cause of your problem.
Go to the settings and change the 'Discharging Widget Man Text' to "Estimated Battery %". The other settings can be as you wish, but I prefer the 2nd to be time remaining and 3rd to be time dead. Do the same for the charging options.
Let it calibrate for a few days. If you see a big discrepancy between the system battery (in the top right) and the widget, you've got a dying battery. Buy a new one. My Verizon version of the Note 4 started dying at 22% and rebooting. Dying battery was the cause. I knew this because it would read 72% in the top, but 42% in Battery Left Widget. And when it would get to 5% in the widget, it would start rebooting. The other battery at the top was reading much higher. A new battery fixed my woes. However the OTA upgrade to MM did a job on the battery too.
One word of advice ... turn off Fast Charging. It probably killed your battery in the first place. The original Samsung chargers will still charge it to full in a couple hours, but Fast Charging does something bad to the batteries, and they don't last as long. I know, I've had a Note 4 since day one, and I'm on my 4th battery.
A note about MM upgrade. I have to say, I wasn't a fan either. My battery didn't last as long on MM as it did on LP. The tricks about doing a full wipe didn't help. The only fix was to get my VZW model rooted and I regained control. Now I have a MM rom that actually works well and gives me 15 hours a day of usage, 3+ hours of on screen time.
What rom you are using anyway. I have changed my battery and switched to miui 8. But problem remains same with an extended battery life... But mine won't charge more than 67% and shut down @ 12% with a SOT of 3 hours and above.

I would try your battery in another device, just as a test.
Well ... mine is a VZW Note 4, not AT&T. I've used multiple roms over the past few months. I don't know what type of extended battery you are using, but if it's the ZeroLemon, it may need a better kernel to work with it. The phone doesn't know about extended batteries without additional instructions, so charging and time to empty can vary.
I just know I will NEVER buy another Samsung battery from anywhere. I think 99% of them are fake. I went with an Anker brand and it's been perfect.
Currently, I'm running MODest v5 ROM. I just installed Nseven on a 2nd device as a test. As for the MODest ROM, after only a couple of days of testing, it looks like I'll get even better battery life than I did with PaulPizz v2 (over 16 hours of heavy use compared to the 13 with PaulPizz)

So no idea its original or not.. Should have been original... My note 4 SM 910S SK tel korian version so the rom options are very limited. Do not have any warranty period left so im confused whether i should go for a hardware checkup... Anyway im pissed of since the marshmallow arrives....the problem started right after that update.. Since then i have changed rom changed battery.. So now i guess i have to change the phone finally... Anyway thanks for your reply..
I have the same problem with charging to only 67%
If you take out the battery it will continue charging to 100%.
All this cr*p started when updated to MM
Going back to stock 5.0.1 and doing the #*0228# reset should help.
And samsung batteries are a disaster, even the genuines ones.
