Desire description changed to - "THE HTC DESIRE IS NOW IN OUR WAREHOUSE - PLEASE ALLOW 7 DAYS FOR DELIVERY."
If mine's not posted on a next day delivery today then I won't be able to get mine till Wednesday. Fingers crossed.

I reckon they probably don't have them, They offer next day delivery so if they took delivery on the 7th like everyone else (or have it shipped direct from the distributor) they would still be within the 7 days,
All their other handsets just say next day delivery. See the attachment for a laugh

I'm just in a live chat with them and have just been told they won't have stock 'til tomorrow and to expect delivery next week as planned.
So the claim that they're sat in their warehouse might be a touch ambitious!

i just did live chat with them as well and they are shipping when it is released sim free, so i suspect they do have them in but are not allowed to ship until the 1st but then you have a bank holiday weekend so that would mean next day would still be the 6th as quoted.

I ordered yesterday and emailed them to see if my order would be sent out in the first batch this week, but got a reply saying it would be with me this week.
I think the person who sent email back to me forgot about bloody easter weekend so it will be next week I imagine.

Also ordered from MPD and spoke to them on live chat. Sounds like they have to abide by the official date and indeed said they'd be shipped 6th/7th.

I have another T-Mob account (for my son) and received a text on that one saying that the new number is now active. Does that mean they will charge my account from today or when I put the SIM in the phone?

i'm also a lil annoyed because i have noticed they are now doing the phone free on £25pm contracts and i paid £6 its not going to break the bank but still if i have to wait and get it the same time its a tad annoying. But yay not long now \m/

I had the same thing. I expect prices to drop, but not in the space of 2 days. Suffice to say, I sent them an email pointing this out and got told that once I have my phone if I get in touch again, I'll get refunded. Worth emailing them

I phoned this morning to make the point that they had them in stock, I'd paid for next day delivery, so I should expect it on Tuesday, right?
I was told that they've got 1000 in stock, 600 pre-orders and are starting on dispatching them today. Some will be going out today and some on Tuesday.
They guy was pretty noncommittal.

Price of phone was £5.99 and they've now reduced it to free on that contract

mine has not changed to sent yet and i was in town today and they have them in stock in our tmobile shop ready to sell tomorrow, i was thinking it may be worth a trip down, see if they will match the deal and then cancel the one for mpd. I also had a phone call from vodafone saying they are selling the now (early) but they could not match the price though not far off.

Apologies for starting a new thread but I (as well as a few others) have just had confirmation that T-mobile now have them in stock, ready for next day delivery.
I was told by the rep that the new phones go through a quarantine process that can take anywhere between a couple hours to a couple of days- the Desire was given the go ahead; whereas the SE X10 had to be 'given back to the manufacturer'
I have to thank you for telling us this. I just contacted T-Mobile and managed to get the operator to despatch it today. I had ordered my phone on Tuesday, the 25th and I had no status updates until today. A quick call to T-Mobile and now I have an email to confirm that my phone's winging its way to me. Hopefully I get it tomorrow or Monday!!
I have no doubt they will come tomorrow as long as they are ordered before 4pm they will arrive tomorrow.
Yeah thanks fortunately someone actually kept there promise and called me as soon as it arrived and has dispatched mine out for tomorrow.
I have received the email from t-mobile saying my phone has been despatched... but for delivery on a SATURDAY?!?!?!? I think it's far more likely it will not be delivered until Monday.

It's not a normally delivery it's a courier delivery for between 9am-1pm.
The woman on the phone did tell me that "Delivery was free for the Desire". I am thinking this is the special saturday delivery they normally charge £7 for which is done by some company other than Royal Mail.

Yes, exactly... couriers charge extra for saturday deliveries... but I will indeed be pleased if it does arrive tomorrow I wish they had an order tracking on t-mobile.. I have an order ref number, but no way of tracking it... I also want to look at it because they sent me 2 emails for the order, and wondering if I maybe clicked twice on submit or something and have 2 coming!!! :/

T-Mobile back in stock (telephone order)

Just had a call from T-Mobile - my phone will be with me by 1pm tomorrow.
Just called them myself on the strength of this and was told that they are out of them already, so I assume that they went to existing orders. I only ordered on the 30th (was only eligible for upgrade then) so people who had earlier orders may be lucky. Guess that Means I shall have to wait till next Tuesday at the earliest now.

i have just ordered mine bout 10 mins ago and the woman clearly said sunday, i dont know who is working on easter sunday but she definitely said it twice
Placed my upgrade order at 17:30 tonight (online using T-mob's new 'chat' facility ) and was told "should be in the next 7 days" when I asked about delivery. There's no consistency in their answers is there?
I ordered my desire yesterday and was told they were out of stock but more were due in today. I just got a call from them to say my phone will be sent out today for tomorrow delivery.

i ordered mine last night. £40 upgrade, £15 a month jobby for 2 years.
i was told they were out of stock but more would be in within 48hrs and i should have it within 7 days.

how do you use the chat facility? do you have to me a present member of t-mobile?
No you just view desire price plans and you will be offered to chat if they're available.
Speaking of chat.. They are very rude. They seem to have no idea if they are in stock. I told them Ill order one right now if they have in stock. and they said they couldnt price check mobilephonesdirect.

It arrived at 8am this morning. WooHoo!
Just checked the T-Mobile website and my upgrade has been processed. Of course delivery is not possible now for the 4 days of Easter, but at least I know it will be on its way.
If it helps, my order was an Upgrade ordered about 8am on the 30th.
ADDENDEM: just got off the phone, was told there was a 40% chance I could get it Saturday (I assume that this is due to limited deliveries on the weekend), but then he checked and confirmed it will be Tuesday.

T-Mobile Stock Update

Just spoke to a nice lady over a T-Mobile who said they have received a very large shipment of units about 10 minutes ago.
Those waiting for a Desire from them should receive them either tomorrow or the next day.
Excellent news - Mine was booked for tomorrow over a week ago. Also getting a SE W995 to replace an excellent but battered K800i, but I'll bet that there's no stock problems on that one...

but id rather wait a month and get the x10 mini pro! release date 24.05.
X10 Mini does look nice, but my better half hates the newer touch-screeny things (she's managed to put people on hold and send blank messages whilst on the same phone call before on my handsets), doesn't like QWERTY and wanted something as close to the K800 as possible - which didn't leave a lot of choice. Just a shame SE ditched the xenon flash from the C905 - the K800 really is a camera with a phone added on. Plus the W995 is the last one available with the huge SE multi connector, and there's a bit of legacy stuff to transfer (like the in-car equipment). Overall the W995 is a good handset, plus I got a money-saving deal on it compared to current Flext35 - free Internet too, which means I don't have to fiddle with the system like before (I'd set the Internet to use a picture as homepage and proxy server, because it was too easy to knock it on when cancelling stuff).
Aw nuts - delayed until Thursday! Still, the W995 arrived on time so at least there's that to play with...
Just got a text saying my Desire is going to be delivered 8am-2pm Thursday. Good job I don't have work to go to that day.

Just over a week - mind you, when they said it could be shipped by last Thursday I asked for the phone to be delayed a bit cos I was away... now it looks like that dropped me down the 'priority' list a bit.
Also, ordered by phone - in my experience, I always get a better deal talking to someone rather than clicking web offers...

I ordered mine at 8:30am on the 26th March and by last Thursday I still had heard nothing, so I went instore and the guy there told me I would have to cancel my upgrade with 150. I phoned them up and told them the situation and they recreated my deal on the system instore, so the guy instore basically handed me a form so sign and my handset. He said he had never seen anything like that before. Took all of 2 minutes

Hmmm, I guess we were the last of our kind to pay the lower handset cost. The next generation of buyers will have to fork out at least £60 more. That doesn't please me btw

So I wanted to create a thread where everyone can write bout there purchase experience, whether good or bad..
I purchased mines from Negri Electronics and could not be happier. I recieved her today the packaging was secure and full of surprises. Enclosed was the unit wrapped in a nice bag, a USA wall plug (to compensate for the UK version), an ANDY Android figurine (nice touch) long with a thnk you card from them. The Item shipped Black Friday a day after Thanksgiving, Only because they worked there tails off on Thanksgiving itself to make sure all there units shipped Friday. For that I thank them. I could not have been happier with my choice!

To answer your question about my purchasing experience, it has been good so far. I placed an order with Handtec last Wednesday. If it wasn't for the volume bug I would have received it by Friday. I should have it Tuesday morning at the soonest.

I also ordered "mines" from Negri. It's arriving Wednesday. The experience dealing with them was great so far. Knowing what's in the box (unless I don't get a figure ) is even better! Recommended as well.

The only difficulty was deciding whether or not I should purchase one, since I owned both the N1 and Galaxy S I thought it would be rude not to go for the GNex.
Once I'd decided, it was a matter of popping down the high street during my lunch break to grab one. I was in and out within 5 minutes, so all in all MINES was a rather pleasant experience.

Mixed bag but then I expect no less from Expansys. Phone is here, I'm at work, delivered on time, no issues. I've got a billing issue that I've sent 3 emails in five days, holiday excluded, and no reply.
This fits squarely with my past dealings with Expansys: Product delivered on time as described with crappy customer service.
Got mine from local Phones4U store day after official launch. Went in when it opened to find out they put the sim free price up overnight by £80 to £629 . Didn't buy it.
Phoned head office to complain. They confirmed price increase. I told them about an official phones4u tweet sent earlier in the day that the price would be £549 so they arranged £100 off from local store. Went back and picked it up for £529. Next day, the price went back down to £549.
Bunch of jokers. Only bought from there as didn't want to wait a week for my pre order from clove.

On top of that the "launch" on the 17th was only in one store, and they only told everyone that on the morning of the 17th!
Still, I have it now and love it. Alls well that ends well as they say

On time, as described.. haven't needed customer service yet.. hopefully won't need it.
Ordered through Negri, cancelled it because Expansys assured me Friday delivery was a go.

Through Expansys-USA, yes. You have to send the phone to them and in-turn they send to the UK for repair. Never had to go that route, but I image it's a long process...
Better than nothing though.
Ugh, it's been a huge fiasco, and I still don't have a phone!
Originally, I ordered last Friday (8 days ago) on Expansys USA for $750. On Saturday (seven days ago), I noticed that handtec would ship to the USA from the UK, it would come out to $50 cheaper, and it looked like it would get here first (at the time handtec seemed very proactive and confident they would ship my order ASAP).
On Saturday I sent a cancellation email to expansys, ordered from handtec, and waited. When Monday came, expansys cancelled my order no problem, and handtec needed all sorts of information (my passport + utility bill) to confirm my address, so my order didn't even get fully processed until Tuesday thanks to time zone differences.
Finally, Tuesday rolled around and they announced they were going to stop shipping because of the bug - I emailed them immediately and asked they send it anyway, they gave me the 24-48hrs BS, and eventually gave me Monday. Bullsh*t.
In the end, if I had kept my Expansys order, I probably would have my GN by now, and I wouldn't be hoping a UK company gets stock they claimed they would have a week ago. At least they upgraded to expedited shipping. .

Expansys experience... incompetent, unlucky, I really don't know.

I'm sorry I just need to vent this, mostly because they have been horrible at communicating and have yet to respond to prior inquiries.
This entire order/experience has been botched from the beginning. I ordered Thursday morning requesting overnight shipping for delivery on Friday. Apparently the bank flagged this transaction as suspicious but I never received an email/call/contact of any kind from Expansys until late Thursday night. I just happened to check the status on the website and noticed that there was an issue about 20 minutes before your offices closed, so I called and was on hold for almost 35 minutes (at this point past closing time) and no one ever picked up. I then called today, Friday, to request priority overnight shipping for Saturday delivery and to change the shipping address to my home address (as I was originally expecting to have it delivered Friday at work). The man I spoke with said it would be an additional charge for Saturday delivery, to which I agreed. Now I get the tracking number for "standard overnight" which will be delivered to my home on Monday while I will of course be at work! Additionally, I was still charged for the priority overnight shipping and Saturday delivery! I'm not taking off work to receive this shipment so I imagine I'll have to drive way out to go get it from their sorting facility.
The end result is that something that was ordered with overnight shipping on Thursday will be arriving on Monday, if I'm lucky enough to have the time to go pick it up myself. This could have been completely avoided had you not dropped the ball more than a few times. At this point I'd like my shipping costs refunded, or someone get a hold of FedEx in time and have that packaged delivered on Saturday. How does this happen?

They had about 7 hours from when they knew this before close of business that day and did not contact me in any fashion. Their FAQ even implies this happens to them often. One would think they might want to get in touch with someone who requested/paid for overnight shipping at some point before it was too late. Instead I had to find out myself and when I did and tried to contact them it was like everyone skipped out of work 30min before office closing time. The next day, still no contact until I called them and what do they do? They botched things up royally again and charged me more money. Just not smooth or impressive at all.
I'm on the hook for freaking $40+ for "overnight" shipping that is going to take from Thursday to Monday (Monday at best since it will not be shipped to my work). Can you even call it a "delivery" if I'm the one who will be driving 14 miles out to a FedEx facility to pick it up?
I just find it amazing that I talked to the same rep twice today about the shipping thing, confirmed, yada yada.. Even charged correctly for it. But then they still managed to drop the ball.
I ordered mine from them and my bank did the same thing. Didn't you notice where it said if the delivery and billing addresses don't match additional security checks will be needed? It said it right at the bottom of the order confirmation page you get right after you submit your order. I called and got it squared away preemptively right after I ordered. It took 23 hours for me to get it.

I ordered from newegg.com, rather than expansys, mobilecity, pvcs, or any other specialty shops, because newegg is an established and credible retailer; ive purchased stuff from them for over 10 years.
i paid for expedited shipping because i travel often, and i needed it to arrive home at a precise time.
2 days after ordering, my order was still "processing". then i finally received an email saying Order on Hold - phone # or address does not match credit card information.
i called back immediately, but was placed on a 20 minute wait before being able to speak to an agent. (the online chat service had a similar wait). the agent confirmed that my information was 100% correct, but that she would need to forward this information to the "security team", and the order would not ship until cleared by security team..... despite, yes, that she herself was able to confirm my information, as entered, was 100% correct
i canceled the order, and im never buying from them again
Overall, Expansys is pretty decent to work with. Their systems are only semi-automated which means inventory levels shown on their site are wrong and back-end communication is almost totally manual. They're very good at after sale follow-up even though their bankers hours can be frustrating when you need to talk to some one. They and Negri are the only two that provide warranty support and that's a plus that goes on longer than the initial purchase which is a one time event.
P.S. - NewEgg's international phones have no warranty so the last poster may have dodged a bullet.

After my experience I whole heartedly disagree about their "after sale follow up". I got my Nexus S from Negri and things went smooth as butter. I have no idea why I didn't go with them this time. Negri from here on out for me.

Good luck with the warranty from negri. I think someone posted that they had a problem with their SGN and negri blew them off.
My experience with Expansys
I pre-ordered via website and gave them PayPal. They emailed me to confirm and told me that I would need to confirm again once the stock arrived.
Then they emailed me and said "we've got the stock, please confirm the mailing address, method and payment". I did and the parcel arrived 4 days later (with the Thanksgiving Thursday in between).
All was well and smooth with my order, I have no complaints and I am loving my Galaxy Nexus. Thanks Expansys.
