Yes two questions in one.
I use pocketputty and screen for IM, IRC, and some misc programing tasks. Even at the smallest font size of 6pt, I get only around 17 lines of text. The persistant task and menu bar certainly does not help this.
So the two questions...is there anyway to hide the task and menu bars for apps that cannot fullscreen themselves? And, is 6pt font size a system wide lower limit, or just pocket putty's? If it is the former, is there a way to make it smaller?

Can someone point me to the info regarding the registry entry for making the scroll bars thinner. I have looked every where and searched for scroll bars.. cant find it.
got it.
had to sneak over to the q forum.
here it is.
1. Making the scrollbars smaller (Vert. and Horz.)
This hack allows 4 icons on a row in the start menu instead of 3 and allows more to be viewed on the screen in IE:
• Go to: HKey_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\
• Adjust the following values
cyHScr : Horizontal Scrollbars
Height in pixels (default is 6, set it to 3)
cxVScr : Vertical Scrollbars
Width in pixels (default is 6, set it to 3)
• Soft-reset
Its mostly nicer for web browsing.
also this asks for you to create them, they are allready created.
Bump for a good change that I felt was missing from the new roms. Thought others would appreciate it.
Hi all,
The Manila interface is great, I like it very much but I have a small problem; the font size is too small and thin which makes it hard to read messages in SMS tab especially under sun light or day light, bright conditions.
Is there a way to change the font size or perhaps make the font italic, underlined or bold option for SMS tab?
Thanks in advance.
Try:
Settings -> System -> Screen -> Text size
That only changes the text size in native Windows Mobile dialogs; like sms inbox etc. not in Manila interface. So I am still trying a solution.

aegeuss,
just wondering if you ever figured out how to change the font size per your request? I'm still looking for the answer.

i have seen a mod in which ther's a button to increase or decrease font size in message tab..
i haven't found it in the net anyway...
No unfortunately not; there are two similar threads as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=539091 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=471604 but the method in these threads change the system fonts completely. There's not an easy way to play with the manila interface fonts (size, color etc.) as afar as I know.
It's good one way that the new manila interface develops with each version but it reduces chances to tweak it for power users. May be that's the way HTC wants it, who knows.
Regards.
thanks for that info.
Personally, i think that it sucks that so much work has gone into making such a nice interface (i.e. the manilla interface) and yet no provisions were make to allow for the (seemingly simple) capability to alter the system font size. I understand that changing the font-face might not be so easy (who knows what fonts each of us might have installed) but the font size... really?

p.s. sorry for ranting.
Hi All..... Is there any way of changing the font size or the spacing of the messages on the inbox?? I get only 7 messages on the main screen and would like to get more
Cheers
Go to your Screen settings, Text Size tab, and adjust the slider for smaller text.
Thanks..... now i have 8 emails...... guess this will have to do.... looks like the problem is also the spacing.... any reg tweaks to reduce the spacing between e-mails??
Hey all, I read over the forums a bit, and I saw quite a few threads about changing just the SMS font size, but not changing the rest of the System font sizes. I have figured out a way to do it for the tilt 2 for AT&T.
The font size is not really the issue when it comes to the SMS font. The issue relis on the zoom of the screen. The SMS screen for texting carry a different setting for zoom, and it saves it when you change it. If you want to change the size of the SMS font, simply increase or decrease the zoom of the screen. This will only affect the SMS texting screen, and not the rest of the system.
Hope this helps everyone ^_^.
Font Zoom
Thanks for that tip to increase the font size in my text messages. I don't even know how I reduced them--just, one day, I couldn't even read them without my magnifying glasses. This fixed it right up. I selected a text, scrolled the zoom bar and, BAM! Back to readable.

I have a verizon phone that is unlocked, using with at&t. My zoom bar does not work with sms. Do you have any idea how to get it to work. I am to the point that I need reading glasses to see the small SMS text size and yes I have it set to the largest size in wm6.5.
How to change the size and shape of menu bar of wm6's own program?
I have changed SysFnt and PopFnt and BarFnt, system font; pop menu; menu bar of third party program has been changed respectively.
For example in photo,
alarm and wireless manager are using sysfnt, which is bigger.
The pop menu of "edit" and "menu" changed by popfnt.
the font size and shape of menu bar of third party program changed by BarFnt.
How to change the size and shape of menu bar of wm6's own program?
I know Start menu could not be changed by registry, need third party DLL.
Could we change the font size of the following location by registry?
menus in Today; left/right soft key; Those text under icons in "Program"/"Setting"; Title bar of the current program window.
I tried those keys under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\V1\FontAlias], but seems nothing changed.
for example "Tahoma:-12"="Tahoma:15" change nothing.
Please advice,
Thank you very much!
I changed the following.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GWE\Menu\PopFnt]
"Wt"=dword:000005dc
"Ht"=dword:000002bc
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\SYSFNT]
"Wt"=dword:000005dc
"Ht"=dword:000002bc
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GWE\Menu\BarFnt]
"Wt"=dword:000005dc
"Ht"=dword:000002bc
Well, I don't know if my advice worked but I use Registry and edit like this:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\gwe\menu\popfnt
and change the value for the "Ht" entry from "1200" to "1000" or smaller just belongs to you, then restart the device. I'm using Touch Diamond and it worked great
