Hey guys....it`s been awhile.
i`m trying to reset my Dash to factory settings to sell.I`ve tried both ways. hold soft keys, press power button for 1-2 seconds,i get the white letterings saying personal data will be lost, and will reset to manufacturer default.press send to restore manufacturer default.it goes thru its thing....(preparing your device, please wait.....) it goes thru cold boot config. when it restarts, it`s back to 3vo series rom.i`ve done the start/accessories/clear storage/1234/yes.
still same thing........weird....does the sim card need to be in phone to hard reset?
the hard reset does not remove the installed rom just the data to but it back to the default rom you must reflash said rom. the standard roms are in the wiki i think but sont qupte me. failing that they should be around on the forum somewhere so search and you'll find them. hope this helps
Stock ROMs in F.A.Q as paradox1985 states a hard-reset will only take you back to the base of flashed ROM not all the way back to stock.
Excellent .....thanks for your help.

I reflashed with UNI_QTEK_WWE_13077_130176_10900_WWE_Ship_GR2.0.1.exe. The whole flashing process went ok, however every time it tried to install some first time applications (just like when U do a hard reset) the system RESET and even sometimes telling me that I am using an unauthorized rom (it must have been CID issue).
What will I do? Flash another ROM? simunlock? but dont take in system.
Hello...I currently have wm6.1. I somehow have hosed up some stuff (it doesn't even connect to the internet - vzw said I probably need to do a hard reset).
My question is can I just re-flash the official vzw 6.1 rom over top of itself? Or must I do a hard reset and then flash 6.1 back?

If you have 6.1 on your phone all a hard reset will do is reload the OS thats on your phone right now
red button+green button+stylus in reset hole until screen turn gray
follow directions and the 6.1 ROM you currently have will be on the phone as
brand new

Hi All,
I am currently unlocked, rooted, and recovery installed. Can I just use the regular hard reset from the settings menu? I would like to know how to get the phone back to the stock factory condition. Not planning on returning, but I just got this really bad habit of wanting to start fresh from time to time. Thanks in advance!!
Looked in The Dev section for you .

okay so I have a samsung galaxy s3, I updated to Android 4.3 through AT&T and my phone has been giving me problems ever since. could someone please tell me what options do I have to fix this thing? Right now I have downloads that keep coming in that have been completed months ago and my LED flash also comes on when my phone rings. I havent done any flashing or rooting since about 2 years ago with my AT&T Tilt 2. I just felt like this phone didnt need it. I've read some other articles that say if you try to root an AT&T SGS3 that it will brick after this cripling update to android 4.3. But it's just fine to do it wit other carrier smartphones. It doesnt seem like there are any fixes on the horizon, so I feel like i need to take matters into my own hands. Please help.
I'm assuming you already tried a factory reset? But as far as rooting though I don't think it's possible currently if you did the ota update. Whatever you do don't try to Odin back though, you'll hard brick.

I'm not sure if i've tried a factory reset. The only reset i've done is the option they give you when you hold the button on the upper right hand side of the phone. Where is the factory resetet option? Also, should I backup my information before I do this factory reset.

boot into recovery to clear the cache first and then try a factory reset if that does not work.
I have read of this continual download bug, but do not have it myself
If you can connect to KIES, you can back stuff up easily , but I'd just backup contacts and stuff and reinstall the apps. Yes, a factory reset will wipe your apps and contacts, but it should leave your pics in the card and in the phone alone.. back em up just in case.
Hi everyone I had an unfortunate problem with my new Samsung Galaxy A72 and it is the following: Since I don't have a PC,
I can't get the phone into recovery mode for the moment to perform a "hard" reset and clean up the phone.
Is there a way to go into recovery without a PC or is it mandatory? Thanks to those who can give me an explanation.
If you are unrooted, the only way to reboot to recovery is with a PC. I think you can perform a hard reset within the settings in General management.

Thanks for the reply however, it is absurd that Samsung forces me to have a PC to do a Hard Reset since now I also do not have one.
They do everything to complicate life...you could do a soft reset from settings but it wasn't what i wanted.
Hello and thanks again for the explanation.

You are correct, Samsung does some questionable things and this is no exception.
By the way, the reset from settings is pretty much the same as if you did it from recovery since all it's going to do is delete the data partition without media (I think, can't remember). I believe when you do it from the settings, it reboots to recovery and wipes from there anyway so it's pretty much the same thing. I really don't know what you mean with a "hard" and "soft" reset though.
I would consider a "hard" reset as formatting not only data but also system and the rest of the partitions, which can only be done with either a custom recovery or doing it with Odin (which requires a PC)

hello thanks for the reply.
If I remember correctly the soft reset from settings ago (reset or reset settings), hard reset instead from stock recovery
wipe cache and data and dalvik ... I think
And having no PC for now I will do the one from settings, too bad, but this samsung puts a lot of difficulties every year,
worse then it will also be the fault of Android 11 I don't know.
