I've just been on the phone to Otterbox and they have told me that they have had a lot of requests from customers (including me!) for an Otterbox for the HTC Desire. She told me that the company are seriously looking at producing one similar to the Commuter Series they have for the HTC Hero.
HTC Hero Otterbox can be seen below.
With details here.

Heck yes, I'd buy one
I had one for each of my iPhones. Best protection you can get IMHO.
I think Otterbox is one of the few case manufacturers that provides near perfect protection.
I have one for my Iphone 3G and It's really good.
Silicon or crystal cases are far from perfect protections. Armor case is bit better but still far from perfect.

It's here now! I just got an email that you can now order the Otterbox defender for the Desire.
i was really looking forward to receiving this case, but sadly after 17 days of waiting, the item haven't even been shipped yet, and after contacting otterbox customer service, they promised to ship it ASAP, another 5 days pass by, i email them again and they apologize for not shipping the item yet, i asked for a refund, 8 days so far and no refund yet! (it's in stock as well as I was informed by the rep)
Avoid buying from them directly, eBay sellers and other websites at least ship the item when u buy it and it's available on eBay at the moment, 7 dollars more expensive but worth not waiting forever for it.
That sounds sad. I bought my latest Otterbox cases from Ebay but this time I was trigger happy and ordered directly from Otterbox.com. I've also ordered from Expansys previously (when Otterbox didn't take international orders but placed it on them instead) but that case was faulty.
This time however there is no Desire Defender case on Ebay for international shipping.
My Desire Defender case is on its way. It should be here soon.
I have the commuter for my desire. I also bought a separate screen protector. However the commuter case is fantastic sold feel and look . I've had no problems even the rubber covers work perfectly for the USB port. The rubber button over the power button makes it feel easier to turn on and off. Brilliant.

anybody seen anybody have the two piece slider case for the TB yet that slide on from the top and bottom. i dont like the type that clips over the sides or the two piece that are a front and back part that clip together.
due to the fact that the phone isn't even out yet... I'm going to have to go with no... maybe try again in a month
well, looks to be several cases out as of now, which their should be considering the phone was "supposed" to of been out by now. was just wondering if anybody has ran across one yet. i had the casemate for my iphone 3GS, and the Incipio for my cappy right now and i love them. so much easier to take off then the other two piece kind that snap together.
the problem is the thunderbolt body may be too complex to make a slide on, besides iphones have more attention due to there only being three different body models (the 3g and 3gs being exactly the same besides internals) so its easy to manufacture them
The Seidio Innocase II is a slide-on case, its in two pieces, that you push together once it slides on the phone, and it works quite nicely on the Droid Incredible which i'll also be getting one for the ThunderBolt because of its durability.

NCX, youre the man!
Seido cases are such a ripoff, anything over $15 for a case is overpriced.
I have been using my silicon case from VZW got it for like $10 and it works like a champ. Seido needs to mark all their merchandise down 50% and then it would be worthwhile, but please $30+ for a protective case is above what they should be. Its just plastic/rubber/silicone. Its not that expensive to make.
Amazon is selling the Seidio cases for $25, Innocase II combo (with holster) is still not available, just the holster for the non-cased Thunderbolt.
There supposed to start shipping on the 18th to arrive around 24th
Anyone know if Otterbox is announcing anything for the TBolt?

Probably no time soon, they seem to spend most of their time riding Apple's jock.

There is a lot of company for them there. LOL. Hopefully Verizon doesnt start riding it too, but it looks like they are going to. I dont know why they are delaying a phone people are dying to get (TBolt) in hopes more people will buy a phone no one is interested in on Verizon (iPhone).
The cheap eBay Bumper case I posted about on another board arrived today and it looks quite good until you pick it up and notice how thin and light it is which kind of goes hand in hand with it's massively small £3 price. It does the job fine on a S2 with the stock battery though but with extended battery the lip surrounding the front bezel is less pronounced.
It is not great with the Zenis dock either as it doesn't sit flush whereas the Zenis one does. I was expecting it to fit fine but the bottom is not sitting nicely like the Walnutt bumper does.
So far I think the Walnutt case looks the best and also feels like it's worth some ££ too. I especially like the lip bearing the Walnutt brand name on the back, it kind of completes an otherwise baron backside, something that the SGP NeoHybrid EX bumper lacks although I'm sure the SGP feels every bit as good and expensive as the Walnutt ones.
Considering the Walnutt bumper is thicker than the cheap eBay one I was surprised it was exactly the same thickness when put on the phone, I put it on my dad's S2 with stock battery to compare in the pics below.

Wow 10 pounds for shipping to Spain! What a RIP OFF. I'll write the seller and see what he says. I doubt though that he'll change the price. I've had books and computer parts delivered for less!

This is the third case that I have gotten my hands on for the Samsung Galaxy S3. It's great that the layout of all these devices have the same layout. We're getting a number of accessories available to us and the device has hardly launched.
AT&T seems to carry a lot of speck cases in general. I found this on there, but only in gray/black. It fits in between our Ballistic SG MAXX case and Belkin Sheer case. I had no problems noticing the added bulk vs the Sheer case. Will this result in more impact protection? Quite possibly. How much? That's hard to determine especially when I've paid out of pocket for these two devices. If one slips, I'll be sure to let you know what case it was in and what the damage was.
The case seems to be of pretty high quality. We did have a problem with one of their One X cases, but this one seems less prone to any issues. The location of the power button on the One X caused the plastic around that area on the case to break after a week or so of heavy use.
One of the biggest likes over the Belkin Sheer TPU case is that the buttons have a rubber cover instead of the hard plastic. This provides crisp feedback of the buttons. They snap right back into place. There are no issues reaching any of the buttons like in the Ballistic case.
So I might have found the middle ground between a barely there case and full blow, it's time to fight a war protection.
MSRP: $34.94
Official Page: http://www.speckproducts.com/smartp...laxy-s3/candyshell-for-samsung-galaxy-s3.html
Found on eBay for $24.99.
Nice write up. Trying to track down a grey one myself.
Thanks Chris. Call corporate AT&T stores. Good luck!
have you tried taking it out of the case? i've heard it's hard to get phones out of the candyshells.
I've probably put about 5 cases on these phones so far. The TPU cases exhibit the same behavior It's not impossible to get out in tact, however it does want to hug the back cover. You might wind up just the device in your hand.
If it does get stuck in there, you can poke at it through the camera hole to encourage it to come to the surface. That's one thing I don't like about Samsung devices, but oh well. This phone is pretty darn cool.
After spending hours of looking at sites and video reviews for case for my S3; I decided to go with the Seidio Active Case with the holster. Great protection for the back, sides, top and bottom; a kickstand. the best thing about it is it seems to offer great protection without adding too much bulk. The holster/belt clip is heavy duty as well. While the retail is $54.99 Versio Mobile has it for $34.99.

I would have to say Otter box commuter is by far the best case for the buck and offers amazing protection.

Completely agree while we all like value and bang for the buck why try to save a few bucks on something that is ultimately protecting your $200-$650 investment quality is the way to go, Otterbox is amazing.

I purchased a case by "Acase" that I'd put up against all those and when I got it, I paid $12 including the shipping and handling. I have a Seidio Active on my Rezound and love it but the Acase is just as good.... Minus the kickstand, that's definitely a bonus your Seidio has.
Currently not being productive.
There's a case at the verizon wireless stores that is black and has a kickstand and an included belt holster.. I had the same case for my iphone and then my GS3.. i would never use anything else, its thin, durable and amazing.

I don't disagree that the Otterbox offers excellent protection; I was looking for something not as bulky because I am either at my desk or in the Datacenter and much of the time I'm using the phone for email and text anyway and for me the Sedio offered a middle-ground for comfort and protection.
I bought the shell case. Same brand I used on my Rezound. Works awesome

Either Cruzerlite stole their design, or the other way around....

Hmmm, they all look remarkably similar in design & if it's not patented ...
Got mine from an Ohio-based company by the name of Fintie - purchased indirectly on eBay for $9 shipped free 7 fast, I like it - fittings are good & no complaint (better than Spigen's Hybrid Ultra. Maybe a bit "bulky" for some but feel solid & non-slip in my hands.
It's supposed to be impact/shock absorbing - even if the kick stand break over time on repeated usage, the soft TPU case can still be used on its own.

Cruzerlite Spi-force is nothing but generic case repacked. Check here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2549047
Bought mine from China on ebay for less than $3 with free shipping.

I ordered mine two days ago and it should be here tomorrow. There's a bunch of similar cases that all look to be OEMed by the same factory, with minor modifications to the kickstand area and "grooves" in the silicone. Google caught me off guard - I ordered my Nexus on Monday with a "ships by Dec 11", so I thought I would have it next week; it shipped the same day and arrived yesterday. I'm not crazy about the holster design (no positive retention), but for $9 I can always keep it as a spare after my Seidio Dilex arrives. I've also got a Ballistic SG Maxx on pre-order, which could very well get cancelled if I don't hate the kick stand on the Dilex (I'm not a fan of kick stands).
