Anyone manage to sync Opera bookmarks? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I have Opera Mobile 9.7 and Opera Mini 5 installed, and I can't work out how to sync bookmarks on either of them. The instructions on the Opera site refer to sync options in both browsers which simply don't exist.
Does anyone know how on earth you can sync Opera Mobile/Mini bookmarks??

Not aware of a sync version for 9.7 Mobile other than using Opera Link on thier website. Mini should have it built into the settings.
The PC does have it though.

I've read the Opera Link page (and have a MyOpera account), but the instructions for syncing both Opera Mobile and OperaMini don't make any sense - i.e. they refer to "synchronise" options in both Opera Mobile and Opera Mini which don't actually exist.
???

Ok, here is what I know. I fell in love w/ Opera solely on the fact that you can sync bookmarks b/t however many PCs you log into. The promise of the same experience on the phone kind of falls short..
First off, in the regular mobile Opera, 9.X, even 10 beta and official, Opera Link has NEVER worked for me. Now, when I put Opera Mini on my shadow a while ago, I noticed that something created a folder in my bookmarks on my PC called 'Opera Mini' for some reason this folder is green, unlike the others. I have found that only the bookmarks inside this folder are what sink up and only in Opera Mini..hope this helps..

Thanks for your reply. I've noticed that I also have an "Opera Mini" folder in the Opera Link bookmarks page (but it isn't green). It contains a list of my bookmarks, but how can I get them to sync to Opera Mini 5 on my phone? ActiveSync doesn't sync them, and there's no Sync menu option in Opera Mini 5.
Considering this is such a big selling point for the Opera Browser family I'm surprised they've got it so badly wrong

itm, all I know is that when you go to settings in Mini 5, there is the link option, you just enter your log information and begins updating. I would let it hang in the browser for 3 mins, not letting ur phone sleep or shut the screen off. then to be safe, exit, soft reset, then check it out.
remember, the point of my reply was that all bookmarks you want on your phone must be in that Opera Mini folder on your PC and you must be properly logged into Opera Sync on the PC as well, just check everything, verify you got the green sync icon in the bottom left hand corner, maybe get Opera 10.50 (PC) to be safe..

I have Opera Mobile 10 Beta and the sync has worked fine with portable Opera (running off USB memory). All I remember doing is enabling Opera Link and the next time I opened Opera Mobile, the bookmarks synced. I don't believe I had to do anything on my mobile.

Sync Opera Mobile and Desktop Firefox favorites?

Does ANYONE know of a solution to sync up my Opera Mobile and Desktop Firefox favorites?
The ideal solution would be real time over the Net but if i have to settle for desktop sync then that's fine also.
I look forward to everyone's suggestions.
1) Export your Firefox bookmarks and import them into the desktop version of Opera. Exit Opera after importing.
2) Locate and copy the file opera6.adr from your profile folder (by default it's in %appdata%) to the folder where Opera is installed on the phone.
Of course this can't be considered syncing, but Opera Mobile doesn't have any sync option (yet). I recommend using Opera Mini along with Opera on the PC if syncing is a priority.

Missing Opera bookmarks on Internet tab?

When I go to "bookmarks" on the Internet tab, I only see about half of my Opera bookmarks / folders. Has anyone else seen this? Is there a fix?
there is a limit to the amount of bookmarks that can be shown on the internet tab (I think the limit is 5). So if your bookmarks exceed that number, only the first 5 are shown on the internet tab. Maybe there is a registry key that can change that.
I think the original poster is referring to the screen when you press the left soft-key "Bookmarks" on the Internet Tab. I experience the same problem. Unfortunately, my only work-around is to simply not access that screen.
OK, sorry for my mistake. If that what he is referring to, thenits important to know which version of opera he/she uses. With opera 9.5 on my TP2, I do not have that problem.
It is Opera 9.5 ... the version that comes pre-installed on the Sprint Touch Pro2. However, my bookmarks were copied over to the device from another phone that was running Opera 9.7 (I copied them over by moving the opera6.adr file from the old device to the new one), which may be the source of the problem. They do show up fine within Opera though ...

I once thought that was my problem as well when I copied the opera6 file over from my Diamond. But it's not. I created the bookmarks manually with my TP2 and it worked fine for a while. But after a couple days, they started disappearing again. I somehow think it's related to the little image icon that Opera saves for each bookmark (eg, the "Y!" icon for a Yahoo bookmark).
Did anyone find a solution for this?

Internet tab issue/Mobile view issue

So i wanted to be able to watch flash videos in my browser so i installed a version of opera that i had for my TP. The install wetn bad and corrupted my original opera version so now i have a problem.
I uninstalled the opera that i put on and now my browser button on my internet tab does nothing. Ive since installed IE6, the new opera mobile, and the new opera mini but the shortcuts in my internet tab do nothing. I found the link to install the version of opera that came with my phone but there are like 30 different ones listed and im unsure which one to use.
Also, all of my browsers are showing pages in mobile view even though the option for mobile view isnt selected. I hate mobile view and skyfire is the only browser not doing this. But i dont want to use sky fire as my regular browser. Alittle help?
Bump......
You may want to just do a hard reset since all those browser installs/uninstalls have messed up things so bad. I know this isn't very helpful but a clean start just may be the way to go...

Need "advanced" help with Opera 9.7 / SPB Shell / Youtube

I recently upgraded from Opera 9.5 to 9.7. I chose to install 9.7 to the storage card, but it seems to have ignored my request and installed to the windows directory where 9.5 was.
I know when I got my phone if I clicked on a youtube video link it automatically opened it in HTC Streaming Media. Now when I click a youtube link it opens the youtube mobile application, but does not play the media, it just opens the app and nothing more.
The next issue is that SPB Shell has a internet favorites shortcut that looks like a star. When you click it, it shows you a quick list of your shortcuts / bookmarks. The problem is it's showing me the list of bookmarks from 9.5 and now 9.7 has replaced 9.5 it has it's own bookmark file somewhere. Does anyone know where SPB is pulling this from? Can I update the registry somewhere to point it to the new bookmark file?
And lastly, I noticed that Opera 9.7 and Opera 10 beta2 both use almost 30 megs of RAM. Task manager shows only 1 meg in use by the application, however free/available memory drops by almost 30 megs.
Thanks for any help you can provide,
Eric
i did a hard reset to compare some things. on stock opera youtube links are rtsp://......3gp links.
after installing 9.7 the video links on youtube look like this:
vnd.youtube:UjrzG4qluH8?vndapp=youtube_mobile&vndclient=mv-google&vndel=watch&vndxl=ClickLink
anyone know what this means?
why arent the links rtsp after updating opera?
I'm a little confused how the client is influencing the links coming from youtube. Does youtube present different html for each mobile client?

Remove one or both installed versions, soft reset and install another version.
See my signature for Opera mobile all versions
Hope it helps,
I tried all the "red" ones from the thread mentioned in your Sig.

is there a way to set opera 7 as default in tf3d on 6.1?9

Just like the title says: I would like to set my wifes tp2 up to use opera 9.7 as the default browser. The snag i run into is setting it as the default on the internet tab on tf3d.
There are several ways to set the tf3d internet tab to use 9.5 and it handles it well: bookmarks and search from tf3d tab all are opera 9.5 intigrated. but as i said I would like to set hers to 9.7. Please please no comments on "just flash the rom". we dont want to go that route because after months of searching and experimenting with my own tp2, ever rom I have tried has either had a shlew of dibilitating bugs, or if they were perfectly operational they ate up 70% of the available ram after a few hours of use.
Yes I did search, and there doesnt seem to be any info on this. I even read through a lil over a hundred posts on the opera thread; nothing.
bizzump....
Not sure on 9.7, but when I installed 10, there was an option at the end of the install that asked if you wanted Opera to be the default browser. I said yes to that and everything is working fine.
I had tried a number of things prior to that to manually make the browser the default for everything, but nothing seemed to get it all. Maybe try re-installing Opera?
you should be able to its in the registry, you just need to put in the path to the .exe file for the opera u want as default.
Download latest Opera 9.7.35964 from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5928300&postcount=1709
Install Caliban Opera Browser 9.70.35964.cab to the main memory, not storage card.
As with others here it did so automatically for me.
right I understand that it becomes the default. the problem is that I also want my bookmarks to continu to be added to the internet tab like I could with 9.5. when I tweaked 9.5 to be the default I was also able to tell tf3d that when I add a new bookmark, to display it on the internet tab. just installing 9.7 will use my previously existing bookmarks i set in 9.5 but will not allow me to create new ones that will transfer over to the internet tab.
Anyone?
For those of you who installed the 9.7 various cabs, how did you make your bookmarks appear in the internet tab?
Internet tab using this folder for the bookmarks: \windows\Opera9\opera6.adr
Opera 9.7 using different folder for the bookmarks: \windows\Opera9\profile\opera6.adr
Temp. solution:
Enable Opera 9.7 to using \windows\Opera9\profile\ folder
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Opera\Info]
"UseOperaBookmark"=dword:00000001
In Opera 9.7 edit/add new bookmarks then copy \windows\Opera9\profile\opera6.adr file to \windows\Opera9\ folder.
I made fix for Opera 9.7 bookmarks: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6099429
wow thank you. I will try this out this weekend and let you know . again thank you
