Hi,
I would really like a step by step guide on creating widgets for android, i have the samples that come with it but i cant seem to find any guides to help me follow it. Im not a complete noob when it comes to java coding but id really like something which does it step by step and explains things really well.
Any suggestions?

I've searched the forums on how to develop a working theme for the G1 but I couldn't find a thread explaining on how to get started. From what I understand you first need the Android source. Can anyone provide a basic, or even detailed explanation on where to start? Thanks in advance.

Hey everyone!
Right now its in chinese and I would like to change it to english.
I know its something to do with flashing it with an english rom but i need to know where to get the rom and step by step procedures in doing so.

read the "read first" link in my signature, it explains all the steps necessary to perform the upgrade including download links to all programs necessary, also, all the recent roms available are linked there and you can give them a try, also there are basic must have apps around the upgrade process, like backup and stuff like that. hope that solves all your upcoming questions as well
Well I have pre-ordered an Evo and am jumping ship from my old friend WinMO and am finding it hard to find much info about the workings of android. Everything I read seems as though it is assumed that you know what everything is and what to do with it. I am no noob to the modifying and figuring things out but only having experience with windows os's with zero linux knowledge. I am not asking for in depth explanations, only for better info than what I am finding. All i seem to be able to turn up are basic explanations of terms used and guides to root but little else. Some specifics I would love to find info on is the function of the kernel and recovery images, simply usages of the adp and such and general info on rooting. Again all I turn up is info saying load this recovery and flash this kernel and your rooted blah blah but nothing specific just as to what I'm actually doing by following these instructions. Thanks in advance for any links you guys can provide to help a noob learn. *puts on flame suit just in case*

Honestly, not trying to be a ****, but all the answers can be found very easily if you just look at all the posts that are stickied in this forum. One of them will have the answer you're looking for. If you still can't find it, then you probably shouldn't have posted to begin with.

Been there and done that and understand where you are coming from. I actually followed the following link and it was VERY useful as it is expalined step by step http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=754669
As far as the ROM he uses I cannot tell you if it is good or not but if you "flash" (unzip) [ROM] SLIDE-Reloaded v1 [9/16/10] Sense 2.1 this one it is similar to what you have now and you can slowly ease into other ones once you get used to using your phone.
PM me if I can help with this process. I am a noob myself so can't really explain a lot to you but as far as the steps go I can try and help.

you should really read the rules and search, there are a lot of threads explaining how to do pretty much everything if you look!
