Hey! This is my first post here. I have found the actual HTC Desire Wallpaper (Rainbow Bubbles) and i would like to share it with you guys.
It was hidden inside the Desire ROM, but not sure if anyone posted it up before; This is not the LiveWallpaper but its the non-moving one.

ENJOY!
Thanks dude! Been looking forward to a real one!
Can anyone give me any insight on how to apply these. Putting them onto my SD card, and then choosing wallpapers > photos > this photo, it and any other pictures i chose this way look grainy, or low-res.
Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to repackage my launcher.apk with these for them to look flawless and full quality?
well i think because the image was upscaled for the nexus so it is not as sharp
Thanks!
I too am noticing that the quality of the picture isn't the best possible. There are some sort of "waves" that make the background look kinda ugly. I have noticed this with other wallpapers as well. In fact almost every wallpaper from the sd card does this. Most noticeable it is with blurred pictures and pictures with some kind of bubbles like this very wallpaper.
It's great!!!
I've been using it for a while now.
Thanks a bunch!
Do happen to have the simple black background that is not live from the desire by any chance?
For better quality when you apply, go to the market and use Wallpaper Set & Save. Also, I reccomend loading up the wallpaper in photoshop or some half-decent image editor and saving it as a png.
I used your wallpaper, and it is wonderful, thank you very much...

Yeah I just found that app myself. Also if applied with gallery3d instead of the stock samsung gallery it doesn't get pixelated.
Nice wallpaper. Thanks! Been looking for the this. I posted it on my site, PocketCustomize.com.
Awesome Wallpaper...
it's great! thanks

Yes 'set & save' is awesome, however, changing the file in to another format will not help, if anything you've just created another generation of loss.
Does it bug anyone else that the WVGA version has a blue line on the left edge? really annoying :-/
hi guys, im trying to make the wallpaper seamless, but the connecting images particularly blue and red portion of the wallpaper looks awful, is anyone here good with editing pictures who can help me out?
Wallpaper quality...
To get the best quality on my HD2 screen... I open and edit the wallpaper in Photoshop making the image size 960x800 and changing the DPI from sometimes default 72dpi to 300dpi. Then I go under Filters, then Sharpen, then Unsharp Mask...changing it from anywhere between 75 to 116 depending on the image detail I want to see. Then I use LCD Density downloaded from Market and change the screen density to 200. you have to invest a little bit of time but in the end, and once you get good at it... you can have am image ready in 2 minutes tops. Voila! Not sure if this will work on all screens but I will vouch for it on the HD2.
I love this wallpaper. Using it on my samsung galaxy s. thank you very much.

Pictures are really good but why don't you create them for landscape mode too?
As I understand you should make them 320x320 with 2 HTC logos.
One of these logos will stay nearly the same place where it placed now (for portrait mode).
The second logo should be placed at the middle of the right side of the picture for a lanscape mode.

Will do. Question though. I can make these very fast and easy, but to get them to fit just right, what should I save them as? jpg, gif, png? I'm getting a stretched effect when I set them to the background image. Basically I want the logo and any part of the image to show WXACTLY where I put it.
Try making them 240 x 268.
Wow...
Wow, man...
Amazin wallpapers! The 4, 5 n 6th are simply wonderfullll...
Thanx a lot for sharing
I started this last night when I came across a sweet site full of awesome desktop walls and thought why not make'em for our phones. If anyone has a wall they want converted and the logo added, put it in this thread and I'll convert it for ya. Gonna make some more later and tomorrow. It's OH-BEER-THIRTY hours and I'm late for formation. hehehe
New wallpapers...
ronfin44,
Could you send me the HTC's logo and a "how-to" to insert the logo on the pictures? Can I use a simple program to do this? (cos I don't know how to use a Photoshop or Corel...)
I'd like to know how to do this because I'll not be crazy to asking you to convert all this pics on .zip files for me...
I resized a lot of pics that I have. If you want, I can upload all of them (more than 1k). I selected some and uploaded (more than 100). Take a look to know if you like. Now, I really don't know what pic I'll use for my new splash screen...
Regards.

Here's how I lifted the logo to use. I opened an image with the logo already on it, used the magic wand item to highlight each letter, then copy the letters one at a time and paste them on a blank bankground and save it as a png file so when you copy it later to paste onto another image it'll retain the transparency.
Here ya go:

I use Paint Shop Pro 7. Work with a bmp or png format, and once your final screen is finished, save it as a jpg to drop the file size. You don't have to save as a jpg, but it saves space.
I'm makin more right now.
Yep...
Yep, I instaled Photoshop CS2 9. I don't have any idea how I can use a lot of the tools it has, but I could create a splash screen for Pro Black 2.5. I'll change a little, but its done...
can u guys post these without the HTC logo
Sure. Any one in particular?
Hello everyone!
I thought i'd start a Wallpaper Repo thread for the Galaxy S community, as i know you'd all like to put that amazing screen to use . Purpose of this thread is that if you have any good wallpapers, or any you have stumbled upon, link them here or upload them, so you can share your findings with the rest of us.
I have a selection of wallpapers that i use, and they look fab on the SGS, in my opinion You need to extract the .rar file and then simply transfer the folder with the wallpapers into your Phone storage or SD Card. Hope you all like them, and hopefully others will post theirs.
To give you an idea of what is included in my pack:

Ok, so next one pack of mine wallpapers
Hi Everyone
The Wallpapers shown on Post 1 are from interfacelift.com.
Here's some more
and some more
Even when I make a new wallpaper exactly 900x800 png @ 72 dpi, why does SGS again crop it?
I downloaded the jpgs from the first post, extracted them on my sdcard, went to long-press screen, wallpapers, & selected quite a few of them, they are all CROPPED by SGS, I the resolution is GONE. Any solution to that?
By the way, here are a few Eye Wallpapers.
P.S> I think you need to update/upgrade the resolutions, for a PNG or a JPG, the resolutions recommended is only 640x480, whereas SGS requires 960x800.
Just a tip I felt like throwing out there...
I use Wallpaper Set And Save from the Market to set wallpapers. And when it comes to finding wallpapers, well 960x800 isn't a widely used resolution for wallpapers but 1280x1024 still is (for desktop wallpapers at least).
1280x1024 wallpapers have a similar enough aspect ratio (1.25 vs 960x800's 1.2) that these can either be resized to 960x800 with little to no distortion, or just directly used in apps that support on the fly resize (Wallpaper Set And Save being one of these).
With this knowledge and Google Image Search's capability to search for specific image resolutions, the sky is the limit for finding interesting walls.
FYI

@Hockey Hats off to you for making/sharing such nice walls. Much appreciated.....very nice
Anyone else seeing severe degradation of images when you set them as your wallpaper? I thought it was just the image quality, but if you look at the same image in the gallery at the same zoom (filling the screen), it's ultra sharp, but when you set it was a wallpaper you get severe artifacting and compression. I tested this with a 1440x1280 wallpaper, so it should have been exactly the resolution for the screen (including side scrolling), but once set, it looked pixelated and ugly. I did find a workaround (albeit not a convenient one), where if you happen to have root, you can use ninjamorph to switch out the "default_wallpaper.jpg" in the framework-res.apk, res/drawable/default_wallpaper.jpg with your own wallpaper retitled to the same name. Immediately, the wallpaper looks infinitely sharper and really shows off the 720p screen!
Anyone else know of a better way to set a wallpaper without any degradation? (Hopefully, without having to mess with the framework-res.apk every time, and maybe without using a live wallpaper that sets the homescreen to a particular image? Even though they're not technically animated, those live wallpapers still seem to be a battery drain and ram hog...)
... ... ...
Regardless of resolution (gone as high as 3840x2160) once set as a wallpaper, Android seems to do some sort of compression that significantly drops the quality below what you see looking at that same picture in the gallery. I've also tried using 1440x1280 so that no stretching or cropping would be necessary to fill the screen, but that also didn't work. The only way to circumvent the degradation that I know of is to swap a system wallpaper with the one I want to set, and that bypasses the degradation. I've tried Wallpaper Set & Save, but that still produced the same drop in quality.
I know this is off topic, but could someone provide the stock LG Nitro wallpapers? I love that blue stock wallpaper, but I can't find it on the net.

The answer is simple...u must use or resize the image to exactly 1280x720. I had the same issue before with my Atrix 4G, which has a qHD screen (960x540) and everytime I use a wallpaper that is smaller or bigger than 960x540, they will come out either blurred or pixelated and looks like Cr*p! But when I resize the image to exactly 960x540, the pictures came out sharp and clear.
I think this has something to do with Android's stock system. When my phone was upgraded to CM7, I no longer have that issue.
So to rectify your issue, try using 1280x720 pictures/wallpapers, or crop them down to exactly 1280x720, and they should come out crisp. Let me know if that helps.
i use Backgrounds by OGP, u can use that app to set wallpapers from your gallery. Works perfect every time.
Quickpic is the answer
I was having the same problem, but then I found Quickpic! Not only is it a far superior gallery management app, it also sets the wallpaper at pristine resolution...
Thanks for all your help guys! The exact resolution of native wallpaper is 1440 by 1280 (with wallpaper scrolling left and right, it's always double the x-axis, so 720*2). I ripped the original wallpapers from LGhome.apk, and those are their resolutions as well. It doesn't matter what resolution you choose, if you set the wallpaper through the android gallery, it looks like crap, whether or not it is exactly the right resolution (I tried 1280x720 as well, even though that is not the native resolution of the wallpapers on 720p android, due to wallpaper scrolling). However, I found that setting the wallpaper through Wallpaper Wizardrii or Just Pictures gave sharp results! As sharp as messing with the lghome.apk and switching the bluray.jpg wallpaper to my own wallpaper of choice! So that's what I'm using. If you want to see for yourself, give it a shot! Set a highly detailed wallpaper through the android gallery, and then install Just Pictures or Wallpaper Wizardrii and set it through that. Maybe I'm just absurdly picky, but the difference is super dramatic to me. Thanks guys!

Second one is the one through Just Wallpapers (or Wallpaper Wizardrii). Maybe I'm just anal, but the first one through android gallery is just too blurry for me, and it looks worse on the phone's screen. The crossed railing and the boats, windows, etc just don't have the crispness when set through the gallery.
So ever since I got this phone, I've come to a bitter realization that almost all of my favorite wallpapers can longer be used on this phone due to their smaller size. I will get black borders since the pics can't fit perfectly to the screen.
And with that I've decided to create a thread for us all to use to share pictures or wallpapers that will fit nicely on our gorgeous screen.
As you can see in the title, there will be 2 types of pic/wallpapers that you guys can post here. The first will be just a standard 720x1280 resolution wallpaper that will not generally be used for with the scrolling wallpaper effect. If you wish to use these with the scrolling effect, the wallpapers will end up stretched or blown up to fit the full resolution.
The other will of course be wallpapers used with the scrolling effect enabled. The resolution for this will be 1440x1280(thx to itiskonrad for the dimensions). Using these huge wallpapers for non scrolling will obviously lead you to cropping the image.
So when posting your wallpapers here, please indicate whether they are for scrolling or non-scrolling, simply by saying so, and if possible to include the dimensions as well. Let's try and stick to the default resolutions, but if the wallpapers are too good to be excluded, then go ahead and post, but again, please include the dimensions in your descriptions to make life easier for others.
And with that, thank you in advance to all of you who will be contributing
NOTE!! Please note that attaching your wallpapers here using XDA's file attachment system will cause them to be shrunken down to a very small file size, which might result in loss of quality. So if possible please upload them elsewhere and post the image using the img tag.
itiskonrad, if u see this, would you mind uploading those stock wallpapers u extract from lg home please? I'd like to use them with WP clock. thx in advance.

LG stock wallpapers
Nice Thank you!
I can't seem to find much 720x1280 images, so I might end up having to manually crop images n upload them here
Thanks a lot!!!!!!!
Finally had some time to look around for wallpapers. Found several of them, hopefully you will like them. These are all scrollable wallpapers of varying sizes, some are 1600x1280, a couple are 1440x1280. However, mostly, they are 2560x1600 or bigger! Please resize them if you wish to, but they should just fit the screen nicely. With that, Enjoy!
NOTE: Please do not resize within photobucket as that will affect everyone else downloading it. Please use your own programs to resize them
P.S. Can someone please teach me the proper way on how to post images in tile format (rows and columns instead of just a single column) in the forum. I can never seem to figure out how to do it and always get a single LOOONNG column of pictures, and it just looks weird.

There was a discussion about that somewhere under General or Themes and Apps if I'm not mistaken. They are saying if you use the default Wallpaper setup from the phone, any picture will always come out blurry. U need a separate app that will set it nicely. I forgot the names of those apps though sorry.
I've found that using QuickPic is the best way to get crisp full-size wallpaper... just download from the Market and select "QuickPic Wallpaper"

Yup, I just use Quickpic for media browsing. It does everything, even hide and lock certain folders you wish to keep private.
Note: I'm not sure if it's just me, but it seems Photobucket is experiencing issues with their sites and loading the images in the right sizes. Please remember, these images are HUGE, so when you download them and they are not at least 1440x1270, then those are just the previews by photobucket. I am trying to get the links so you can immediately copy/paste it on your browser, but Photobucket is rly borked right now so please be patient.
Photobucket is back up and running normally.
Here are the wallpapers for Ice Cream Sandwich for those who are interested They are full HD and are full size. Enjoy!

Note: My Apologies, moved the files and forgot to update links. It is now fixed.
Check the link(s) in my siggy. I've been adding them for a while. These will be great for showing off that HD screen!
Can't wait until mine gets here.
The screen size is 720x1280, so do we need 1440x1280 because of wallpapers could be seen in landscape view too, right?

It's because wallpapers scrolls as you move through homescreens.

Hi Baldilocks! I really like your works and i have one request: can you please adjust the walls contained in the .rar? They have different resolution and need to be converted to 1440*1280
Thanks in advance

Screenshots? Which are you trying to set? Home screen or Lock screen wallpaper?
Sent from my Galaxy S II
home screen wallpaper. every time i try to set as wallpaper, the crop option appears and i can't choose the whole wallpaper... it's the same with any picture i try to apply as a wallpaper... it's weird, never had this issue with my sgs2 (my previous phone).

I think the GS III uses the stock ICS gallery if I am not mistaken. You CAN choose the entire wallpaper, but it's just tricky. You have to move the box to one side and keep dragging and moving until it fills the whole screen. Def not as easy as the older Samsung way.
Does it start of like this???
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
If you take some time you can stretch it out to this -- which will choose the entire picture for the home screen.
