Ringtone volume dropped after ROM upgrade to 1.40

I am having this strange problem since I've upgraded ROM to 1.40. Ring tone volume has decreased dramatically. Only default ones are working all right.
Anyone with some solution, or any application to increase WAV or MIDI file volume?
me too have the same problem
I am using the Asia ROM with the 1.13 radio... no probs at all..
rick,
how can I upgrade to 1.13.00?
RTFW (Read The Wiki) Hehe did I just make the up or was it previously used?
Ok back to the subject. Here's how:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Radio_1.13_Upgrade
I'm using 1.40 Asia ROM, and upgraded to Radio 1.13. However, I had to downgrade to Radio 1.12 as GPRS connectivity gave me too many problems. Practically everytime I had to do a soft reset to conect
Weird. I'm on i-Mate 1.40 ROM and with Radio 1.13.00, and I'm not experiencing any GPRS problems at all.

hmmm, im not sure, cant remember but i think that settings will be saved!
I have a Jasjar, which was running:
ROM version 1.13.53 WWE
Radio version 1.03.01
ExtROM version 1.13.137 WWE
I ran the radio-only upgrade, which errored the first time but ran without problem the second time. After a soft reset, I now have:
ROM version 1.13.53 WWE
Radio version 1.04.02
ExtROM version 1.13.137 WWE
All my settings/hacks were retained and no information was lost. The radio appears to be stable.
Hi, Sorry... im posting a newbie question... please ignore if "beneath" you...
Im confused on the "radio" upgrade thing. I mean, is this really the radio that we know of (FM/AM)? Why the need for upgrade? How do i make the radio work then?
Laugh all you want, read all your posts and i still dont get it.
The "radio" portion of the Jasjar is the phone/gprs componentry. The rest of the Jasjar is the PDA componentry. Because, theoretically at least, WM5 products can be PDA-only and because the radio portion of WM5 products can vary widely (differing standards for various parts of the world), the firmware is released in two parts: the base operating system for the PDA and the radio subsystem addition for the phone/gprs functions. This explanation is somewhat broad, and not 100% accurate, but hopefully provides some clarification.
can i use this to update my orange spv m5000? or is there another version for it..\
cheers
ok i've tried several times now and its not working.....
its not working for my spv m5000 either

Thanks for the explanation.. that was tech101 for me I get it now.. It's the "phone" part then.. upgrading the radio might have something to do with connecting wifi, bt etc... and i really though i could tune in to my favorite radio station.. haha
Thanks a heap!

You are welcome. BTW, something like this http://www.dealsonic.com/csdsedifmstr.html would add AM-FM capability to a Jasjar if WM5 drivers are available. Note though that it would seriously truncate battery life.
FYI, the SD-Radio is the older model.
Take a look at the sleeker SD-Radio2...

Benefit of Radio 1.04 over 1.03?
Just got my i-mate jasjar. Wondering about upgrades but it seems to work and if it aint broke, dont fix it!!
For those who have flashed from 1.03 to 1.04, what improvements were there?
Thanx
I just updated my 1.03.00 to 1.04.10 on my Qtek 9000
The biggest improvement is the time from hitting the 'pick-up' button to the connection being established. On the older version, this took about 5-7 seconds.... on new version, this happens instantly.
Maybe it's just me, but i think the sound quality of the phonecall is improved too.
Post deleted as I managed to upgrade the radio stack successfully to 1.04.10
cheers guys

NEW ROM: Orange UK 1.30.90

Comes with MSFP but not A2DP as expected, but one suprise is that it has been bundled with radio 1.03 - obviously they think this is the most stable?
Can be downloaded by anyone here:
http://www.business.orange.co.uk/se...c=PaDPage&cid=1044130840493&mid=1044129390154
If you flash, post your experiences here... as I will...
I found that there have a massage with AKU2 come form the link you provide
the massage form offical as below;
How to download and install your new M5000 AKU 2 ROM.
The ROM posted on this website has AKU 2/Messaging and Security Feature Pack functionality. This is not a ‘patch’ – rather this is a total ROM replacement. Please ensure that any data you currently have on your M5000 is backed up.

Yes, it's A2DP it doesn't come with (stereo bluetooth). The AKU2 update includes MSFP.

yes
Is A2DP included?
Presumably it is possible to replace the 1.03 radio rom with the 1.09 or even simply exclude the radio update if already running 1.09?

M5000 rom update
I'm asuming that this radio has not changed at all. can anyone confirm?
I'm running 1.09 radio from imate update and I'm not sure if it's worth updating at all. Orange have come in too late again and with this radio I don't see the point in all the hastle.

This post problem is not me as far as I no. Why is there a previous post problem I not aware of? I've not noticed any other than this.
Anyway I've updated To new Orange Rom and it appears that my earlier problem ( delay in ringing etc ) thought to be radio. Is now no longer since upgrade.
Is upgrade worth it?
In my opinion if anyone is interested YES

radio 1.12

hi
can anyone point me in the direction of the download for this rom - i keep seeing it in people's sigs and i'm jealous

A newer version of the radio stack is not necessarily better than the older one. For example, several members in the UK find 1.09 works better than 1.11
I don't know where the 1.12 radio stack is, but the 1.11 is available here: ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Universal/Radio
1.11 radio problems
I have had strange probems with 1.11, including loss of signal & inability to dial in places where there is a signal. Only starts working again after a soft reset. Its intermittent but reason enough to go back to the QTEK ROM with radio 1.09.

I have a feeling that it depends on where you use your phone...
I had the same probs with droping calls where the phone worked before in the UK with 1.11 going to try 1.10 for a bit.
How To Upgrade MDA PRO from Chinese to English
Hi,
I just bought a T-Mobile MDA PRO in China but it is in Chinese. Can some one advise me which WWE ROM I should use in order not to cause the system hang after upgrade? Can I upgrade WWE ROM from other brand? I got the following info from the set:
ROM version: 1.00.00WWE
Radio version: 1.06.00
Protocol version: 42.40.P8
ExtROM version: 1.13.134 CHT
Thank your in advace
FongSG
fongsg: Go for the Qtek AKU2 ROM 1.30.77 1.30.176 1.09.00 WWE.
It is one of the few ROMs which have AKU2 as well as A2DP for Bluetooth. It's quite fast and stable as well. The radio ROM is also very stable - apparently better than the 1.11 stack.
i upgraded to radio 1.08 and so far have been having lots of probs with the signal, also losing my net connection etc.. anyone suggest a good radio?

Try 1.09. It seems to be the most popular radio stack at the moment.

what about RADIO 1.10 from T-mobile ???
1.10 gives me the best reception (in the Netherlands)
I'm having problems with 1.09 in the US I drop my GPRS and calls fail all the time. I am upgrading to 1.11 to see if this helps.
1.11 is REALLY bad in the UK on o2, bad signal, and once lost it is impossible to get back, have to switch off radio and then back on to get the signal back. That's my experience anyway, 1.09 is the best I have used so far, very strong signal and very stable
Using an O2 XDA Exec with Radio 1.09 in Asia [Manila, Philippines] any other Universal users who have updated to Radio 1.11? How is it? Does it perform better compared to 1.09? I am unsure if I should update my Radio to 1.11, some posts here say 1.11 is unstable for their territory but I would like some info on 1.11 radio ussage in Asia. TIA.
No problems here using 1.11. Been using it for about 1 month. Portugal territory

try another radio rom...
the radio rom is the driver / controls the phone / gps etc functions...
may have been updated in one of the 'cooked' / official roms you've tried without you noticing its been replaced... hence all the roms you've used afterwards is having issues...
forgot to mention, didnt you find it weird no one else is having the same degree of issues with ALL those newly cooked romsets?

mate... i said the official roms (and sometimes cooked roms) WILL UPDATE YOUR RADIO...
i'm presuming you updated from 1.37 official to -> 1.93 official (which updated your radio) since then you've been having phone issues...
if you flash back to an official 1.37 and if it doesnt update to what you had before chances are you'll still have the same issues...
if you just update your radio now to what you had before then you may have fixed your issue?
like i said... you've tried all these major cooked rom releases... dont you find it strange you'll the only one having major issues with all of them?
HTC diamond things you can flash
SPL - bootloader
Radio ROM
Operating System ROM

but, is this the best one to use?
i dont know for your situation (no one will / except people on the same carrier as you / in the same country / area as YOU... and will be subjective to their opinion)
try a few and see which one if any fixes your issues... gives you better battery life etc...
your question is like asking... should i invest in company xxx
