You will need Morphgear as an emulator...then you can run SuperMarioBros..you can download lots of old skool games from the Nes SNES and sega to play on your pocket pc, just google Morphgear

morphgear is a little bit laggy on the xperia. is there a tweak to make it faster or does anyone got some settings for the best perfomance?
lol sorry if i replied late i found the orginal .NES file all you need is to download the .NES file and run it in your PPC using an emulator
so first download the .NES file from my windows live skydrive here is the link:

Yeah it is pretty easy. You just need to slide your keyboard, after that you have to change your orientation in Settings -> System -> Screen ( Display ) from Landscape to Portrait. Next you need to open your Morphgear and go to Global Settings and change the orientation to EAST. All you need to do next is to beat the mario world
I`m having a bit of a lag while playing and the game need to skip more than 4 frames to be playable. I believe it is because my morphgear can`t find the tytn II display driver. I saw a guy on youtube playing supermarion on xperia and the game runs smooth. Hope someone can help me.

i am using pocketnester so there is not the option vertical or landscape
The pocketnester does not update my xperia's screen
If i pause the game, i see what is happening, otherwise it stays black.
OK I`ve got it
Finally Mario is running flawlessly. I`m using MorphGear and the game is playable in landskape and portrait. I just need to slide the keyboard to change the orientation. The tricky part is to configure MorphGear properly.
Now, after installing MorphGear you need to open the Global Settings and choose GDI display driver; Orientation - North; Uncheck "Use Virtual Pad"; CPU Throttle - High then reboot the device ( it is important to soft reset the device or the game will run without the last option ).
The second thing you need to do is to open the NES settings and change the screen size to "Window Size"; Frame skip - 2 and you need to change the input keys to your liking.
Happy play and I hope that this may help someone

you need to go to http://mobile.surrealnetworks.com/DashApps.htm and download Pocke nester plus
once you download the cab file and install it on the dash
then download the ROM games.. and install on dash as well.. u shold be all set

I will try that. I ran pocknes on a MDA, and it was slow at best. Don't the dash and MDS have essentially the same processor? How do the games play for you?

Pocket Minigolf 2 (highly recommended)
High Seas (like sid meier's pirates, extremely addictive, highly recommended)

Hi, I downloaded super mario 3 and and donkey kong..but some of the controls wont work...I went under the controls in the options and set them all up and they still wont work... What am I doing wrong?

Where do you get your roms from? Are they any different than the ones you would use in an emulator on a pc or mac?
i use a emulater on my laptop too and use the same games so i would say yes. im not really sure if im able to post that type of link here. i can send you what i got.

Another game which I loved playing on my PPC was Astraware Tradewinds.
The new version, Tradewinds 2, has been released for Smartphones too and it works great on my c720w.
Give it a try...its really nice.

...My bad, I just thought you were kidding. Theres no Pokemon theme if I remember correctly, there is a Mario one however for TF3D version 2. And there are numerous iPhone themes aswell (no emulators) like themes for WAD2 (software you have to purchase), and loads others. You can however just set your background to a Pokemon picture.

OH A GAME! Damn I thought a theme. Yeah you can definately play it on your HD. Use Morphgear to emulate a GBA or GB (whatever you want) and use a Pokemon rom and play. You will need a WVGA control pad however, you can find one on the forums for the SNES emulator I thought and 1 for the GBA aswell.

ROM..... this is ehh the rom file... on the PC u nee .iso and for an emulater u need a rom.... just use google...

I downloaded "zsnesw.exe" and I downloaded "PokemonBlau.gbc" (that is german for "Pokemon Blue Edition"). And if I run on my pc znesw and I load "PokemonBlau.gbc" it comes just a black screen.

the PokemonBlau.gbc file is a gameboy color ROM. You need an emulator that will play gameboy color ROMs such as Morphgear. zsnesw.exe sounds like a Super NES (SNES <-> z...snes...w.exe) emulator.
Morphgear has modules that can run gameboy color, gameboy advance, nes, snes, etc games. There is also a great wvga gamepad in these forums made for Morphgear.
well, I tried to get snes emulator Morphgear from the internet but I found only "zsnes", and I thought that there isn`t a difference....

just search dude i got the doom working i dont rmenber from where also you can get guitar hero 3 and a ferrari game from gameloft very good games also the masteral snes emulator and the gameboy color emulator and the duke nukem is very cool too in the smartphone and also masteral neo geo emulator but getting the right roms is a pain

this is a game extracted from the omina 2 rom, it was in lots of files to i made it into a cab. works on my xperia x1 but its a bit laggy (i hear the hd and omina 2 plays it smooth).

I cant get the game to work pat the menu screen, on another thread the guy says it asks for permission on a dll file (in the game cab, needed to make the game work) but i cant seem to get it to work, if anyone can look at the dll and fix it i would appreciate it. game is in korean language.

I have noticed that if u use xperaTweek like me the golf games dll automatically gets accepted. when u get to the menu screen, the problem on the menu screen is that the xperia screen is upside down and this is in this game making all touch points on the screen reversed, bit like running android on the x1, but only the touch points are reversed and not the image.

There is a version made by Blutz for HTC HD2 which works on HD Mini too due multi-touch support. I Had some unwanted touchscreen actions in v0.8 but v0.6 works ok.
none of his releases works by me ... "MorphGear.exe is not a valid Pocket PC application" message pops up everytime when i try to run it

Installation guide
1) Download this cab (v0.6) >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=254403&d=1260276943
2) Download my skin >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=454432&d=1291292316
3) Copy cab file to your device and install (remove previous installation if required)
4) Extract and copy skin files to \Program Files\Games\MorphGear\Skins
5) Start MorphGear and go to settings (Joystick icon)
6) Go to SNES9x tab
7) Tap on Display, Sound etc. to minimalize them
8) Tap on skin name and change skin to "MiniPad (HTC HD MINI)"
9) Press "Back" button and load your game rom and play

I tried running the official release of Morphgear but they said it wasn't a valid pocketPC application too. But when i run the HD2 Blutz one it works but its for WVGA.

Yes, it is for a WVGA but if you use a HVGA skin you can play in portrait mode
yes you can play with this port.. but the screen is very very small 1/2 of the full screen...

...so run MorphGear in fullscreen mode without virtual gamepad and use bluetooth gampepad or keyboard to play
If the screen would be still too small - buy a bigger mobile with dpad keys
