I see task manager applications built into custom roms. Can anyone point me to where I can download one of them, they are so much easier to use than the built in task manager.
Thanks.

The thread for each custom ROM should list the elements included in the ROM, like any task manager app. Just locate a ROM that has one you'd like to use, read the thread to find out which task manager they used, and search here for it. Often the chefs will post links to individual apps and other elements like that, if someone asks for them in the thread.
I had already done that. I found a couple and installed each one. I could never figure out how to launch them and neither one took over the existing windows task manager. That is why I asked.
Thanks again.

(...) I am trying to add my most used apk's to the ROM so they'll install upon flashing. I added all my apk files to system/apps dir as told, but after flash and first boot, only 1 of the 19 apps is present. What am I missing?

Hi guys and gals! If anyone with experience out there could help out, I'd greatly appreciate it. Trying to add to Redux 1.2.
Not a DEV or anything but i have flashed many roms in my time but i can tell you this, from my experience i can tell you that i assume there is some kind of file size/type limitation when you add apps to a ROM as i have attempted adding poweramp, ADW EX, mybackup root, file manager (from AOSP builds) and a few other apps that i use to the ROM but it will only install rom manager, mybackup root, file manager and the balance will FC each time i attempt to launch the app and if i want to use it i have to install the app again.
The only flawless solution is the method the RC team is using on their current RCMixS ROMS.
That is heavy coding on another level.

EEeeeeeeekkkkkkkkk! Coding! Run for cover!
There are loads of apps (bloatware) in there which i don't know if i need. Is there a complete safe to remove list? Thank you.
Note: I've used the search but couldnt find a list.
For AOSP/CM based roms, here is the list: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Barebones
I know the DSP Manager is from the CyanogenMod and this question should be asked in the Juggernaut ROM section, but here it is anyways.
I want to know if it is possible to install DSP Manager and make it fully functional, while on the Juggernaut Rom? Also, if anyone knows how, please could you write up a tutorial of some sort?
Thank you very much in advance!!!
Bump! +10 Char!
I'm using it on Juggernaut 3.7 ROM. You need the dsp manager apk. Google it for the apk, then search how to install apk android. The forum won't allow me to post links just yet. It's not too difficult to install.
Apparently, for the Manager to work, I need to change base system frameworks, could you please write how to make the Manger work please?

How did you get this to work??
I know from the vibrant, that Samsung uses a customized libaudio.so ..... I tried to switch this out for the same dsp and got a kernel panic ...
Yeah seriously! How do we get DSP Manager working?!
I can't really explain why it isn't working for you. I used these forums as a guide to install it. I also know you could flash Beast Mod 2.0, as it has dsp manager built in. Use titanium backup to back up the app and data for it. RE flash current rom. Then just restore it from there.
Hey there is an app that you get in the market that installs it for you. I am using it on juggernat 4.1 and I have used it on many other roms. The name of the app is root tool box pro. I forget if I had to pay for it or not but it cant be more than $2.00. It installs it for you so you dont have to worry about doing anything. It has a bunch of goodies I think that you go to the menu called other and then you go to install cyanogen dsp manager.
Charlie
I take no credit for this, I am just posting this link here, from the portal, in case anyone missed it.
Allows you to install the TW/Samsung task manager into /system/app and have a functioning TW task manager in AOSP type ROMS.
Hope some others find this thread useful..
I tried it on TDJ's CM10 that I've been running for a couple days and it works beautifully.
Thanks to ammar786 for developing this!
Not enough options with the S5 task manager, after installing S5 task manager cannot find original task manager in system apps.
Google can't find it either, if any one has apk and would like to share it will be greatly appreciated.
