Hey there...
I've got a great idea for a little app, but I'm absolutely clueless on retrieving data from the calender. For my app, i'd like to be able to catch all appointments in a given time frame.
Using C# .NET CF 3.5, how would I go about retrieving data from calender, and are there any functions that would assist in getting data from a timeframe - or would I have to write that myself (it would be simple enough).
Thanks,
RJackson.
I am currently working on a very similar project. You want to use the POOM objects (Microsoft.WindowsMobile.PocketOutlook) ... Google that to get to the MSDN site and you will find a good deal more info.
If you need any help with that at all, just send me a message

Hi everyone...
I am using at the moment a small program that copies all incoming sms in my calendar - it's just practical. The program is unfortunately not openly available. (and it does have a problem with the time zones)
But now after all the weekly flashing of new cooked roms, the call history always gets wiped. Does anyone know a resident software that collects both calls and sms (both in&out) in the calendar as events?

Someone like this ?

hmm, the download link doesn't work for me...
maybe any other ideas?

Well I'll give it a try this evening or tomorrow morning after I've flashed miri's newest
Anyway, seems that here would be some homesteading possibilities for someone to write an app to do both sms and call collecting. Of course with almost umlimited configuration possibilities
I would certainly want to work as a beta tester and feature designer for such an app.
After all, I'd say there are a lot of people who do not have office communicator for their private needs...

Is this the one we are talking about ?
A bit more description than just a downlink to a random program would be nice. Installing the .cab does not seem to do anything. Nothing in the start menu, nothing visible in the calendar after making a call...

Hey guys,
Im a long time WINMO user jumping off the sinking ship to Android. Picked up a HTC Desire the other day, and am just in the process of figuring out the best way to get my personal data from my HD2 to my Desire.
When i say "personal data"... i mainly mean contacts, calendar appointments and tasks. Emails and SMS is not too important.
Ive done a little research and found that there are a few different methods, but the most popular two seem to be either to use Sprite Migrate or Google Sync.
I had read a few posts noting that by using Google Sync, it will compress/re-size any contact pictures i have assigned... and if i wish to have hi-res contact pictures... i will have to re-assign them. I have also read that there is no calendar 'tasks' app built in... so im hoping there are a few available.
So... if you are a user who has successfully (and reasonably easily) transferred from WINMO to Android... i would welcome any advice you have.
Ps: i realise there are a few threads on this topic, but i couldnt find anything on how well Sprite Migrate actually worked (stable backups/restores, contact picture issues, etc).
Thanks for your help guys.
Hey guys,
A few days ago an idea came to my mind and I emailed it to Brandon Watson from Microsoft. I found his email on a blog post about hacking wp7.
I studied abroard so I use fb to talk to friends I had there. It is really nice because before I use facebook I would just lose contact. The language sqitch button is genius makes it easy to switch between the languages we mix together.
Now not everything is ment to publish on each others walls and idk how hackable the operating system is yet. But it would be very nice to send somebody a personal messagefrom the contactlist. I also suggested in the email. I could be integrated in the now plain message hub with a pivot to facebook messages. Since the operating system is very well thought out to get the job done as quickly as possible. Besides fb messages, first you get an email. Its facebook you open it, want to respond so close open fb app click post, click the new message, respond. Really slow, it would be nice to just see the messages and be able to respond directly.
The fb integration was named like a pretty big feature and for the foto,s it is but other than that not very usefull yet.
I dont know how difficult it is to add a link to the contactlist. Which links to a self build mesaaging app with all the facebook messages stored. ( I can build the app, my device is legally unlocked) but idk if its possible to add a link to that page.
Anyway is there anybody else who thought about this?
I am looking to develop desktop sms sync app for wp7. My first question is this possible using the unlocked (homebrew) emulator. if yes what is the starting point i have development experice with wp7 but i dont know how to access wp7 task api in winodws desktop application ?
Bundle of thanks in advance for any help.
At the moment with the available API's from microsoft you can't access the sms history.
All you can do is bring up a compose sms ui with sections already filled in.
There may be someone with a hack to get around this but I haven't seen anything.

I hope that VERY soon are released these APIs.
Not only that:
I would very much like a software to see on the desktop of my pc the phone's screen, remotely. So I can work comfortably and with the keyboard (like SOTI) ......
Excuse my bad English!
Nevs about this software??
Hello,
I'm looking for the most resource efficient messenger supporting at least the Skype protocol. I do not need to do calls, writing is enough.
What's the best out there?
So far I discovered imo messenger to be quite resource efficient. Furthermore, it does not require me to have an imo account to use skype chat.
I really like IMO. Just skip the part where it asks you to create an imo account (not needed).
Hello Ronald,
Interestingly, in the current Beta you are forced to create an account. I hope this will not find its way into the future stable.

I tried out the beta two days ago and I wasn't forced to create an account. I could just skip that process with a button on the bottom right.
