Some WinMo 6.5 roms have the keylock setting and some don't. I'm talking about the setting where you can enable or disable buttons waking the device from sleep.
I have a ROM that doesn't have that setting but I would like it. Are there any cabs that add that setting? I always like being able to press any button to turn on my device.
Thanks.
bump...
Sorry, I really like this feature.
Someone?.......
Anyone. Sorry for bothering...
Thanks for the replies... Not.
Anyway here's a link in case anyone wants to accomplish this.

I got this issue on using S2U2, the screen will smash when turn on the phone by opeing the keypad
I agree with you, same problems here and I'd like a way to exclude certain programs.
Anyone else have any luck?
Hi all
I have installed the cabs for the disabling of slide wake up and also the auto lock feature, but this two cabs does not work together, either or work, I really like the auto lock feature and prefer to use it but because I use a magnetic pouch I would like to disable the slide wake up feature as well.
Can somebody please give me directions to manually tweak the registry to disable slide wake up?
Thank you
C

Are you familiar with registry editing in general? Use Total Commander or other capable of registry editing, then navigate to here in the registry:
\HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD\ Create DWORD here called "slidewakeup" with value "0"
thank you very much, will try and report back
cheers

Hi MCbrian
nope, the registry key was already created, guess it was created when I installed the .cab, the value is 0 but the phone still wake up if I slide it passed the magnets on the pouch
any other advise?
Cheers

I create this reg edit everytime I flash my phone and it works everytime. What ROM are you running.
hi splayer
I have the standard ROM, I am not familiar to flash the ROM yet so am very cautious to do so, phone is less than one month old..
Like I explained, if I uninstall the auto lock function the slide awake work perfectly, it just seems that the two does not want to work together.
This phone has so much short comings and I was very glad to find various tweaks here on the forum that make the phone much more user friendly.
cheers

ok, so I have uninstalled the keyboard slide awake cab file and manually created the key in registry as indicated above, at the moment everything work the way I would like it, thank you very much for the input
cheers

I just flashed WM6.5 21891 M2.5 by b16b[AthineOS].
this rom seems good and fast.

I dont find any advanced config tool in this rom to disble this,I remember any rom with this feature on have a advanced config tool to diable it.
can we disable through registry?
Hmmm, I don't have that ROM, but isn't the option supposed to be in the Settings>Sound tab of Sense?

I think you are probably right, but unfortunately i dont use Sense,I use spb mobile shell.
i dont want to bring Sense back to set this right. maybe will try other rom.
I'd wait with flashing another ROM. Most likely, someone will come along, and tell you where to change it in the registry. Most settings are, indeed a simple registry value.
why not turn on sense, turn off quiet pick up, then turn sense back off?
Apperently, these are the registry keys involved:
Code:
[HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila]
"DisplayBePolite" =00000001
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\PHONE\PhoneExtendSetting]
"EnableBePolite" =00000000
"SupportBePolite" =00000001
Got it from this thread over at PPCGeeks.

Agreed This would be the simplest way with least trouble.
i was wondering if it's possible to lock somehow the screen orientation of the device in landscape permanently.
i think it would be great, and serve the user better as a ppc device.
if it's possible, i believe that it would need some orientation software like gyrator,or something like that.
i use gyrator but i cant find a way to lock the phone in landscape, but gyrator changes the orientation when ever the g sensor sense a movement.
anyone else tried it? what do you think? how can we do this?
thanks in advance

You could just turn the g-sensor off, and set the screen to manually rotate on command using Rhodium Keyboard Controller....that way you can rotate it into landscape with a button press, and it should stay that way until you change it (or don't...)

Wouldn't the keyboard slider mess this up? The main problem is that the slider always does rotate the screen. Can't find a solution for me too. Sometimes it's nice to keep the phone in landscape, independent of the g-sensor and keyboard. Maybe someone should develop a program for that?
To sum up my previous post, a "rotate freezer" program would fit perfectly for me. You rotate to whatever you want the screen, you start such a problem and the screen doesn't rotate anymore. This would fit me, as I use sometimes the keyboard, however it would be better for me to have the screen in portrait mode. For example a fast copy and paste action.

Yes, it would...I was just thinking about getting around the g-sensor rotation.
However, I could swear I've seen a regedit somewhere that disables the slide switch from the keyboard, I'll dig some and see if I can find it.
Oh, that would be great if you would dig it for me

Ok...I think that the thread below is what I was recalling, but I'm not sure. Pay particular attention to post #13, it seems to have worked on the TP2 for some.
I'll test it myself in a few, but I wanted to let you know what I had found

Och, thanks man, I'll check it at the weekend!
thanx for the quick response!!
i checked the thread you posted and some of the threads in the previous thread and i only managed to make my tp2 display only in portrait mode until i've to soft reset my phone.
do you know how to change manually the orientation so i can lock it in landscape with the reg. edit mentioned in the previous thread??
Why not just use changescreen to set the default screen position to landscape? The only thing is that you would have to either live with Manila auto adjusting itself to portrait (where everything else is landscape) or setting exceptions to manila to rotate one way any one way only, and then have the issues of the photo and music tab rotation issue...
so, here...blah blah blah picture...blah blah blah changescreen cab...

Has anyone can report if thread above is working for our Rhodiums?
Hi All,
I want to use the gesture lock, but not every time I lift the phone up!!!
Is there any way of setting it so that it only comes on if the phone has been unused for a specific amount of time?
Any ideas much appreciated!!!! Alternatively, and recommendations for remote lock programs?
Thnx a million!
yeah same here, great idea. Should be possible as widgets can toggle gesture unlocking manually.

does setting the display time out to more than the default 1 minute work for you?
Not a exact answer to your need but perhaps using Autolock is an alternative ...
