I usually use Swype when messaging, and the regular HTC Full Qwerty in Opera. Swype is very sluggish in Opera. Is it possible to somehow automatically switch to the HTC Keyboard when I open Opera?

I have a Sprint TP2 stock ROM WM6.1...
This problem started, or rather, was discovered when I tried to disable TF3D SMS in favor of Microsoft threaded SMS.
I saw on this PPC geeks thread, a Manila file which, when put in /Windows, would allow me to tap a new SMS and open Microsoft SMS instead of TF3D.
After doing this and soft-resetting, I discovered that my pop-up keyboard was messed up. (ScreenShotA). I was able to get a full keyboard to pop up by tapping the invisible ^ next to the center keyboard soft key (ScreenShotB), however the keys were very small. I opened it up in landscape (ScreenShotC) but the keyboard was the same size with deadspace on either side. I deleted the recently added 47dd6acd_manila file from /windows and reset, but still have this keyboard. I want to get the original keyboard layout back (ScreenShotD).
How do I do it?
Please Help! Thanks!
lol
my guess is you just incidentally disabled the htc kb. i believe that i the standard wm keyboard, look in your settings
I found a solution on PPCGeeks:
set HKLM\SOFTWARE\Tegic\eT9\Ime\CurrentET9Style to 0.
The symbols dialog doesn't seem to work when in Opera Mobile. Pressing the FN+SYM keys displays the list of symbols, but it disappears almost instantly. Closing the keyboard and using the software input panel allows access to most symbols, but that's not ideal. This is on WM6.1 (not tested on 6.5) and happens with both the default Opera Mobile and the latest beta.
Anyone know of a fix for this?
Confirmed on the HTC WM6.5 ROM also.
I experience this on my stock TMOUS TP2. (for example) For my user name, I actually wrote it into a Note so I can copy/paste it if I need to log in to a website I use this username on D:
Does anyone know how to set IE as the default browser? I have the AT&T Tilt 2, WM6.5 factory ROM. I have a program that is not compatible w/ the Opera browser, and I think I like the ability to switch between the 2 variants (modes) (desktop & mobile) of the IE browser.
Thanks,
Dave
tilt 2 default browser
It seems like this should be possible from the registry somewhere. But not everyone want so mess with the registry, or they don't have time to mess with other apps. The 'easiest' way I've found to do it is to launch IE, go to the options menu and tell it to ask if it's the default browser upon launch. Close IE, re-launch and make it the default browser. I had the same problem with an app working waaaay better with IE over Opera.
Search xda for a cab called FIXIE.cab. It will make your pocket IE the default browser.
I'm enjoying to write emails and sms's for compact HTC_IME keyboard with t9. But in browser I don't want to use t9 and compact keyboard. I like to use regular q keyboard without any prediction, also with internet forms, too.
Is there any chance or any program to according to the selected programs that change our preferences automatically?
Is there an app to force the use of a certain IME for a given application?
For example I use Swype as my default keyboard, but it is quite annoying to use in the terminal or with ConnectBot.
Is there a way to force the default Android IME to programs like these?
As long as i know there is no way to do this :/
I use swype as my default keyboard too, but when it comes to typing emails, passwords, numbers, terminals, it sucks

I think this might be done with Tasks... don't know for sure though.
