of how to flash custom boot images. i can never do it right. ive read and read and read and read but i cant do it right. someone please make a video explaining the process in flashing a boot image.
If you are talking about the boot.img, it's a one line command. What don't you understand?
Additionally, this is the themes and wallpapers section.

you need to search for createg1splash.exe on the boards here, run that, it changes the image to mysplash.raw565 and you can fastboot that one with
fastboot flash splash1 mysplash.raw565

boot into bootloader not recovery. It wills earch for pc36img then it will ask if you want to apply update. volume up means yes. apply and reboot. It may reboot while applying let it go until everything says "ok"

The file name should PC36IMG ......
And you don't need to go into fastboot, just the bootloader.

Good stuff. Placing it there just prevents you from having to type or paste the full path to the image.
Edit: I'd make doubly sure this method works with the GN, it can be sensitive to image size IIRC.

LogoMe is one option. I'm sure there is a way to do it via dd, but I haven't seen anyone post how to.

dd the correct osmod sbl dump (corresponding to the bootloader you're using) to get the updated Google logo and lock icons.. :good:
So, i was trying to root/flash to cm 10.1 by myself being the noob that i am. I unlocked the bootloader but did not perform S-Off, installed Clockwork and wiped user data and cache, then installed 10.1 zip and it installed successfully but phone gets stuck on HTC load screen, i used the command
fastboot flash boot.img
from the cm 10.1 zip and it now keeps loading that cyanogenMod animation.
Remember its on S-ON, unlocked mode. Please help.
No need for s-off if you have unlocked the bootloader. Check post #7 in my signature.
It does seem that you did everything correctly... Did you extract the file before doing fastboot boot.img?

Perhaps a bad download. Check the md5 sum to see if it matches. Try a different rom, but from there no idea.

It was a bad idea, is there any possible way to restore? Now even the recovery is showing blank screen, though i had no recoveries.
Can i somehow roll back to stock? Fastboot any image? but on S-on?

Sorry, I've got a glass of wine on me and heading for the second one.
You could always try flashing a ruu, which would put everything as it was. Now, not quite sure how that works with an unlocked bootloader.... Just do a search before.
You could always search for the easy ace root tool which unlocks and/or flashes the recovery for you - which you coud give a shot.
Merry christmas buddy. Good luck.

Your bootloader is unlocked. Put the phone into Factbook mode by using the menu when the phone first turns on. Download and Install this to your pc: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24521665358595410 (its drivers and stuff). Then download twrp: https://s.basketbuild.com/devs/dianl.../oneplus3/TWRP
Save the img file somewhere and plug your phone into your pc in fastboot mode. Open minimal adb fastboot from earlier and type: fastboot flash recovery PATHTOIMGFILE
Where path to img file could be c:\users\dave\desktop\twrp.img

Let me know if you manage it. Should be simple enough
You should use Grarak's TWRP. It's much more compatible with various ROMs.

We'll have that option when someone gets official build status. Efs backup is something you take for granted until you have an issue.
