I am trying to re-install mskip's program to record both sides of a phone conversation in order to reset the relevant registry entries after a device hard reset. A message states that the old version of the program will be removed first. The next message says that the program was not fully removed and that the new installation failed. I can neither remove the remnants of it nor install a fresh version. I have tried manually deleting all references to the program with Resco Explorer and also tried to Uninstall with TMS Uninstaller but without success. Can you help?
Try removing it with SKTools.
I have this prg called clear temp on my old tilt and it works on my tilt 2 as well. has an opt to clean bad uninstalls. u can try it.

Ok i've just thought of two things that are getting kinda irritating on my M5000.
Firstly the fact that no programs seem to un-install, Every time i try to remove any progs i get an error telling me that the uninstall was unsucsessful and asking if i wish to remove it fromt the list of installed progs.
Anyone else have this problem? is there anything we can do about it or is it a case of manually removing everything?
the other thing is the hotmail email account, i dont ever use hotmail and it annoys me having to scroll through the extra account in messaging. is there a way to remove the hotmail account?
Regarding your uninstalling problem. If it happens on all programs you try to uninstall, then your uninstaller is corrupted. If it only happens on one program, then it's probably just that the uninstall information of that program is corrupted. You may want to try other utilities to do the uninstalling (eg. SKTools).
About the hotmail, well, that's easy. Go to Messaging -> Tools -> Options, tap and hold on Hotmail, then Delete.
Have you deleted some files from "windows\appmgr" ??
I've not deleted or changed any files at all. i've had this prob with all three handsets i've had and never been able to remove programs. even since brand new. programs include sbp pocket plus sbp gprs, tom tom, code north irc, resco explorer.
i've just done a hard reset but not installed any exrom cab's so in the next few days i might figure out whats wrong.
i'm sure i've tried to delete the hotmail account before iirc the delete option was greyed out. again i'll have a look when i'm home.
FIRST: If the files have today plug-ins, you first need to disable those plug-ins prior to uninstalling.
SECOND: Have you ever tried changing your bootsplash screen using EnableRapi.CAB? If your answer is YES, then that is the culprit.
To bypass these problems, try to install the same file again, your Universal will show a window stating you need to uninstall the program 1st, press YES, then your Universal will also ask you later where to install it. You can cancel the install if all you want is REMOVE the application completely, or install the UPDATED application if that was what your initial intention.

Ok, im running jamjam's fab Black Satin absolutely no probs
I've used Sprite backup to restore all my old stuff in under 1/2 hour
But now I want to remove some of the software I've installed from the backup, but they don't show up in the Remove Program, so how do I do it
Or is the only way is to HR, and install the software I want
If it's the same program, just install over the top of the old one.
If it's another crap app, you may have to do it manually. However, try installing it properly, and then uninstalling it.
If that doesn't work, you have to figure out what files it installs, and what registry changes it makes, and undo them by hand.
Try using WinCab Manager to decompile the cab/xml install files to find out what changes it makes. Manual uninstall is not for beginners.

Does anyone know of a good utility program which can remove programmes from your ppc. I have a couple of .cabs which I installed, but now cannot remove. Say's 'unable to remove program' when I try. Have tried soft reset, but I'm unwilling to reflash my ppc just to solve this issue
I use Sktools, good software, it also removes redundant registry entries after uninstall process too.
you could try demo version
it's limited only for 6 results of each action.

Hey everyone first time poster, just wanna say love the site and I come to you guys for some help........
I installed "Alfonso ThrottleLauncher" and my touch became very slow. I then attempted to remove it via Settings/System/Remove Programs. Everytime I try to remove it I get " Alfonso ThrottleLauncher was not completely removed. Do you want to remove it from the list of installed programs? " I tryed doing a soft reset and that didnt help. I also tryed removing it through MemMaid and that didn't work. Can anyone please help me get this thing off my Touch, it's running like crap.
I was under the assumption that it was making my touch slow because evertime I would open windows from file explorer it would take nearly 10 minutes to open and the ppc wouldnt run until it was opened. Now the problem i'm having is that i finally got the app removed, but the windows opening proccess is still giving me trouble. Any idea why this is happening. It only happens when trying to open windows.
The "\Windows" directory will always take longer to open due to the amount of files stored there. MemMaid should have wiped out all the files, I use and it works great. If you think there are additional files, just search the folders and registry. Or you could reinstall and use only MemMaid to clean it, I also have "Remove Bad Registry from Unistall" used during QuickClean.
Or.....hard reset if you want it all gone.
My wife's boss just got a Sprint TP2, so of course when something goes wrong, I get a phone call.
Now he has never had a smartphone before and doesn't know much about WinMo.
All of a sudden all the apps (pre-installed and aftermarket) stop working.
He says he gives him an error about "the file is missing"
When I go look at it, I notice the error also mentions certificates...
Now this guy doesn't have any activesync setup. His contacts were transferred by Cellbrite from his old phone.
I don't want to hard reset.
So I pop in my SDCard (I keep all cabs on it for all the apps I have installed) and I install SDKCERTS. Reboot. And just like that, everything works.
So what is the magic of SDKCERTS?
Fresh breath!
I'm kinda surprised that worked on your boss's phone. All SDKCerts does is install the sample security certificates onto the device, and allows permissions to programs signed with those same certificates. This makes it easier to create programs and .dlls that must to be signed to work, since one can simply sign the program with these easily available certs and have them run on the device without issue. Most programs on XDA that require signing to work properly use SDKCerts.
