My T-Mobile Touch Pro 2 screen has had about 3 medium sized airbubbles for a couple days, when i bought it used, and i thought that it was just the plastic of a new phone, or a screen protector. I went to take it off today, but there doesnt seem to be any plastic or anything.
The screen seems** to be raised slightly, and when i push it down the air-bubbles will act accordingly, then when i release the screen, they will go back to their normal positions.
any ideas on this or how to fix it? it looks really tacky. Thanks!
do you have insurance? maybe try to get it replaced? i'd have never bought it like that. i'd be tempted to push a needle in to pop the bubbles, but my first move would be trying to get a replacement.

sounds like the guy dropped it in water. Are you sure its not a zagg invisishield? They look like the basic screen protectors but are much more durable.
see, it really could be, but like, im trying to pry it off..and im not getting anything. is the whole front of the phone (the screen, and the black parts) supposed to have that plasticy-touch screen feel? because thats how it is.

My touch pro 2 did come with a screen protector in the box from Htc so there is every chance it is that. Ive never seen an lcd touch screen with bubbles before, even when damaged, only in the screen protector. Is there no signs of an edge at all especially around the buttons?

I bought a couple of Htc orig ones but im really **** at putting them on! Dont bother with cheap **** ones on ebay. Either Htc ones or other more expensive ones like invisible shield. That bit extra will be worth it.
Yeah I suck at putting them on too. I always end up with air bubbles, lint or hair in them or at the very least its misaligned or I had to take it off and put it back on so many times one of the edges are bent or doesn't stick. I ordered 2 mirrored ones to take the place of the stock one on there now. Wish me luck, I have 2 shots.
Go to the AT&T store. You get three for $10 and they are easy to put on.

I do that, too! The problem is I'm too stupid to perfectly align the screen protector, and it goes on the edges, so I have bubbles along some of the edges.

This is the HTC Touch Pro 2 forum. You might have better luck posting in an LG forum.
It could be a screen protector, but we are not familiar with the screen issues that the Optimus might have as we do not have that phone.

You would think by now they would have come up with a better one.
I've had 5+ HTC devices and always found the boxed protectors are useless and impossible to get on the phone without marks of some sort.
At least Inkino have the Brando ones in stock though which saves the wait to order from HK
I got mine on my FUZE (Touch Pro) pretty well and it looks and feel great! Seems like it is as good as the actual screen in resisting scratches.
the only htc screen protector that i actually used is the one on the rhodium, its quite ok, i would like if it was a little thinner though. all the screen protectors included on other htc devices were awful.
if you mess it up just remove, wash under water, blow dry and start again.
I had to do it three times but wish i hadn't bothered as screen is permanently filthy anyway.

Use some PC screen cleaner and a fine cloth, like a lens cloth or something, that usually gets the screen very clean.
Despite doing this my HTC protector still looks grubby though!
I find it fairly easy to get it clean, it just doesn't stay that way for what with the amount of use.
Yeah washing the HTC ones tbh make it actually easier to apply, takes away some of the static element that attracts all the dust.

They are very good, no loss of touch sensitivity (HTC one reduces it cause it's thicker) and fairly durable.
I've just changed the one on my HD over after 7 months as it was getting a bit worn out, a few scratches etc basically. Take it off though and HD's screen is pristine underneath.

sadly all the official htc screen protector 2packs (SP180 to SP250) are sold for 22.61€ in greece. you can find some other single packs for older devices for around 10-15€ each, but all of them are of extremely low quality.
Ok, So I really wanted the new Samsung Galaxy S2 (Euro) because it has the white with that iphone look but much cool-er.
But forking out that money is a no no.
So after looking I found a white glass for the vibrant along with the white bezel you will get a 1 of a kinda white vibrant!!!!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/White-Outer...985?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cbeda8621
I just purchased it last night. I will purchase the white housing when I get back home and will see how it goes.
If anyone has this already please let me see some pictures
Ooh, update us on how that works for you. I know how to replace bezel/housing, but I don't know how to do JUST the glass since I think the digitizer is literally glued on. Pictures too! (My reaction to the EBAY listing: Holy ****ing ****! GAAAAAASP!)
If yours works out, I'm so getting one! I really wanted to updated to the S2 as well purely for aesthetic reasons but I heard it doesn't work well with Tmo 3g ):
I am interested in this too. Please get back to us and let us know how it went. I have broken glass and this would be the cheapest fix.
Glad that you're trying this as I kinda want to also. I've heard that the OLED and Digitizer are glued on so you can't just try to pry it off.
If I were trying it, I would try to take an exacto knife blade and cut carefully (oh so carefully) through the glue instead of trying to peel up the screen, which is really fragile. Do you have any kind of plan?
Unfortunately, there isn't much information out there on taking the screen glass off without replacing the whole screen so any info you can give will help out a lot of people who are interested in replacing cracked/scratched glass as well.
Best of luck and please let us know how it turns out!
i will be interested too please someone make a video
Well, One of my co-workers is going to do the job for me. I saw him tackle an IPhone 4 screen replacement too. I have in the past did replace some phone screens on a mytouch and mytouch 4g.
I will see about getting detailed pictures when he does the job. I'm going to be researching it here on out too. Downside is the time it takes to get here!!!!!
Do what you can about tutorial, video or pictures, what ever it may be. I saw this a bought one immediately. I already have a nice back cover in white that has Samsung and Powered by Google on it, so thought this would be an excellent pair.
Let us know
Is it even possible to just replace the glass without the digitizer? I thought it was almost a single unit and you would have to replace both.
I would really like to know.
Just to let you guys know, the listing looks like it has a hole for the FFC. It would be a problem for those with it, but it might irk those without it.

That's nothing a little dab of white paint couldn't fix.
...also, why would it be a problem for people WITH the front facing camera? Seems ideal to me.
Seeing as the glass/digitizer-lcd is nearly impossible to separate with both intact, I was just thinking of gluing the glass to a screen protector, then applying that on the phone. Finish off with a hard case or silicone that covers the bezel (and a little of the phone so it also covers the edge of the glass (which I'm sure will be raised higher due to just putting it on top), and voila!
Having this succeeded would seriously help. I'm this close to just getting the Intl SGS2, but ahh, it wont work with Tmo past Edge .. ;_;
Anyone ever tried/seen a white bezel? Sand it down, paint it? I've seen a gold bezel, but that's about it. Wow, white and gold

You are saying that you'd have a screen protector on top of a stack of two screens? I'd say that's an idea you shouldn't pursue, one because you're going to ruin the quality of the image you see, and two, you won't be able to touch your digitizer on the lower screen. Screen no workie!
If you've got to have a white border and you're not willing to get the whole shebang replaced, I'd say go with some cut vinyl. That's the cheapest route (time and money investment) that you could take. It would be interesting to see a white bezel. (the white Samsung Fascinate was so nice!) It seems like it would be paintable once you scuff up the surface. I just decided to find a solid white tpu case and it looks great in it. Covers the bezel perfectly.

Hm, you're right. Didn't think about the screen quality after two glasses/protectors ;_; I've tried the vinyl cut-out but after a while, I started to really notice/feel the edge of the vinyl when I'm swiping things around. So I really want to try the glass lens.
I'm going to look up that solid white tpu! I've only ever seen transparent TPUs
So is there anyway to really use this?
UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I recieved the glass.
Now, I want to try this so bad but Im need to be smart about this or I won't have a working phone.
I need to try this on a non working phone. If anyone still has or knows anyone with a screen with glass that is broken. Please let me know.
I will try and remove the OLED screen from it and see if it can be done.
Ooh, can you post pictures? I want to see how thick the glass is
Ha, this sounds like quite the project. I'll be anxious to see photos.
And it would probably look something like this to get it done:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sT7wRXeYsyg
Too much work.
This mod wouldn't work unless you know how to attach a digitizer onto a glass screen, also check the listing again - the glass comes without a flex cable soldered on.
Hello guys,
I ve been in the market for cases for my new galaxy nexus and got my hands on a couple diztronic ones and I posted the reviews on the correct forum however I couldn't leave my lovely s2 without one so I got one as well and reviewed it specially because I've seen people talking about it due its misalignment with some of the necessary hardware part. I made this video so you guys can check it and make your own decision ..
Pd.- I am in no way associated with Diztronic or any of its affiliates .Im just a phone junkie that started reviewing cases so people get a look before spending their money. Mods if I am breaking any rules please let me know
Enjoy and hope this helps

Had mine shipped from Amazon with free Prime, but it somehow managed to take 5 days. The case itself is great, I see the misalignment issue with the mic hole, but I haven't really had any problems with that so far. It definitely fits better than the primitive T989 case on eBay that was extremely popular.
good review dude. Does it not bother you that you have particles stuck under your screen protector? Man that would eat away at me until I fixed it.
thank you for the kind words guys
im going to be honest on the shipping..I got mine in like three days..Im in the US so that might be why it was faster.
it indeed feels sleek as well..not adding volume nor size is a plus for me.
Yes , i had that case from ebay...which is now resting inside my drawer lol
i HATE the particles..it doenst matter if im in a surgeon table or with everything closed ...I always manage to get particles in..and not on the side but in the middle of the screen haha! but gladly i have a lot of them so right after the video I replaced it with another one
glad im able to help you guys...the more cases I get the more reviews I will be doing

have you tried the hot shower method? it really does work wonders, but it sure is uncomfortable in there.
Actually I haven't. Good idea. Will try that!

Ditto. Applying screen protectors must be the most annoying thing in the world...
the larger the screen protector, and the smaller the cutouts that you have to align, that worse it gets. Getting this crappy matte screen protector on my GS2 was a pain, now I don't even want it because it ruins the beauty of the screen.
I tried the hot shower method for the first time on my GS2 and it definitely made life easier as far as keeping dust suppressed goes, but any dust that gets stuck on the sticky side of the screen protector is still going to cause trouble.
Running it for ~10 minutes got the bathroom nice and steamy when I did it, don't humidify it to the point where it gets uncomfortable, but you do have to keep it running during the process =\
that was probably incoherent as hell and more of a rant than anything, but I've never been good at sorting my thoughts

I understand your frustration no worries there. So from what I have gathered from reading a lot of blogs and stuff:
1) Soak the screen protector (if it's a silicone adhesive that is water-resistant) in half water half isopropanol to clean the sticky side of the sp.
2) Apply screen protector in a steamy room.
So much work.. Especially since a lot of people have no trouble at all applying screen protectors regularly. Maybe I'm just fail
If you're careful, you don't have to soak the screen protector in anything, I didn't and it went on perfectly, that is...until my cheap eBay case started pushing the top right corner up. Just run a hot shower, and do EVERYTHING in there, even opening the screen protector. I live in a REALLY dusty apartment (no idea why) and I had very little trouble except for lining up the holes.
i have the same case, same issues at the bottom with the mic but it doesnt effect my calls. even with the minor imperfections, i would still recommend the case to others.
Never heard of the hot shower method before
I've applied many screen protectors ranging from Nintendo DSi to iPad2/Samsung Galaxy Tab and anything in between over the years, and never had any problems with bubbles or particles. The key is to have a brief bursts of canned air right before applying the screen protector and having a piece of Scotch tape in one hand in case any dust particles get in between. If that happens, I lift the screen protector little bit, touch the dust with the Scotch tape briefly, and continue the process. Scotch tape doesn't leave any residues behind (either on the screen or the screen protector depending on where the dust particle is) and it is readily available. Oh, and I always use powder-free latex exam gloves

Hi everyone,
I am seriously considering buying the Moto Z2 Force as a replacement of my old Moto X 2014 (I still love it but my screen got a bit shattered one year ago:crying.
The only thing that is holding me back is that screen peeling problem I heard of. So, after reading some threads I would like to see how spread the problem is by proposing you this survey.
In case you had the issue, it would be very useful for me to know how you solved (got a replacement, removed the shutterproof screen protector, ...?)
Thanks a lot!
Here I am, replying to my own survey!
Unfortunately, not as I would like to...
I bought it and on day 2 I noticed this issue https://youtu.be/KfEjQWtvckQ which is how everything starts I suppose...?? So, I think this will be a "In the first month case".
Now I have to think of what to do:
Keep it and wait for it... (what then?!)
Send it back to seller asking for a refund => Buy another model, other brand (It would be really sad though)
Send it back to seller asking for a change with another one (what if the new one will have the same issue?)
Removing somehow the screen protector and the glue (any tutorials? Will it void the warranty?)
Any suggestion is much appreciated
Thanks a lot
I knot sure what that video was suppose to show. But to me it showed nothing of importance.. I have had my z2 Force for about 2 months with no issues.. Use a screen protector or a case with one, and you should have zero issues.

The video is supposed to show a problem with the shattershield screen where the outer screen protector lense is detached from the inner layer.
Some people on Lenovo forums reported screen peeling issue after experiencing something like the video shows.
On the same forum, some other people claim they had a screen protector on when the peeling started.
Anyway, I contacted Motorola Support and they:
Confirmed that if you remove the outer layer, the warranty is permanently voided for the whole phone... Not good
Suggested me to refer to the seller for a substitution since I am in the first two weeks after buying the phone
Still deciding what to do...
I tried the tempered glass screen protector I ordered.
It doesn't adhere correctly on the top of the screen but especially on the bottom, near the fingerprint scanner.
So, the screen is not perfectly flat.

Have the same issue and can hear that. But it seems to be normal. I can push in the screen a little bit. I think it's not the original foil of the top, which is pelling. I think it's hearable because it's plastic and elastic. I can see (by screen on) that's not the foil while I'm pressing the screen in. It's more the complete screen. Would it be the foil, I wouldn't see what I see by pushing in the screen. Plastic is easly elastic. That's all.
Here is an update.
Yesterday I received the other plastic screen protector I ordered.
It fits perfectly, since it's not as rigid as glass.
Since many of you have the same "clicking" noise while pressing the screen, I think I will try to use it in the next days to see how it goes. I have some weeks to think about keeping it or sending it back to the seller.
Hope everything will be ok, I'll keep you updated

It's not the foil, right? That's the plastic which is"clicking". I'm short-sighted and I'm pretty sure that I can see that's just elastic at the bottom. Looks so that the foil is ok and 100% save on the screen. But it's nice to have a elastic screen  No scratches after month. So, don't need a screen protector. The quality seems good. It's like wings of a airplane. Elastic, too And there is all ok, too. Normally

I am not sure it's the foil or not... However, I don't think is the screen which is moving, that's probably more a refraction effect. We should ask to those that removed the protection layer, if they where experiencing this and after the removal it stopped.
Foil or not, if the "clicking" sound is so common even in devices without peeling issues, I will give it a try.
I just need to use it, only time will say if it was a good idea to keep it :fingers-crossed:

Screen is moving down at the bottom, for me it's 100% so. And if I do it carefully, I can see it without hearing it. But yes, would be nice if anyone can test it without the foil. But, I can trust what I see, all real. So, it's the plastic. Hope anyone else can confirm this.
Another problem, what I have seen. I have burn in at the bottom. The navigation buttons keeps/burn in. Now I have set up the moto fingerprint navigation and it should gone next time. And that's really good. Works very well. And the space of the screen is now bigger, nice effect.
But, good to know with the burn in. This smartphones are made for a short time, maybe 2 years. On my computer monitor I have never seen burn ins like that. So, it's a market/business. Screen not made for working over years
And what really is very very good is the battery. Have last time good 8.5-9h sot. So, that's better than many people think.
But back to the screen. That's the topic here. Maybe we have to bring it to the repair center after 1.5 years. Maybe because burn ins, peeling and so on. We will see
If you guys do the warranty replacement through Motorola and not your carrier they will send you a new moto z2 force with a 2nd gen screen if you ask em about it. They have a fix for it lol I just got mine back and it's totally different

Ok, maybe I have a newer one. Here no scratches after months. Foil ok. Just the clicker at pushing. You don't hear that on your device? Which versions are 2. generation, after which produce date?

What am I supposed to be hearing on my device lol? And idk I just personally call it a 2nd gen screen cause it's easier to explain it like that to the people that I live around in my area ??there not to bright lol. I do know it's not the original shatter screen stuff that was peeling. it honestly was pretty hard for me to understand what my moto agent was saying to me when he explained it so I only caught bits and pieces. My model number is still xt1789-04 TMobile variant. I don't have a clicker also
I have 3 very very thin ones on the flexible screen that can only be seen in the backlight, do you have any? Do you see it as a problem?
I have many of them. I have used my fold very carefully, but they keep cumming. I think there will be many more, but i dont care. I dont see them when the screen is on.

You have a picture you could post to possible show it? Not to be conflictive but are you sure it's not just tiny scratches?

Ah, gotcha. Then I have a million of those on my screen from who knows where. At least they don't show up when the screen is on.
I did not notice this until recently on my Fold. Now it seems like I find a new scratch every other day. I just ordered a screen protector for the inside screen. It was recommended in this forum and people have used it without issue. We'll see how it goes, but I don't want it to get scratches all over:

I have had my fold exactly one month and the main screen is absolutely pristine, not a mark on it. I Keep the device in the official leather case around the house/ workplace and in a pouch as well when it is in my pocket to keep out any dust or lint.
i think OP needs to specify certain things. we need more context.
are you using a case? or protective sleeve?
are your pockets dirty?
if you don't have a proper protective case, maybe some dust/lint from your pockets migrated into the middle crack while folded, and you then went to use the screen without noticing.
maybe you had left your nails long one day, and happened to get into it in a game or something. gaming tends to make you press harder than you should.
i somehow highly doubt they magically appear from "regular" use.
I don't have any on my screen, you possible got those whilst cleaning the screen with an old cloth.
I'll be surprised if you get hairline scratches by regular use.
