Hello,
I turn to you asking for help to solve the problem occurred on my HTC Artemis.
I would be grateful if you give me any opinions, advice and recommendations to resolve it.
Recently I bought a new HTC P3300. After two weeks use I had to do hard reset.
After Windows loaded I went to check my sms but I could not do it because "Display crazy".
What I want to say. Example: I want to hit with the stylus Start menu, but the calendar is displayed, press SMS but it shows everything is quick GPS, everything is "stirred". I can not log in the start menu and everything else that requires a touch display.
I thought that if I change the ROM with new things will get better. I put the new ROM version 6, but the wrong things are not stitching, and I stayed in his old.
I would be very grateful if you help me solve my problem.
Thank you in advance!
P.S. Sorry for my bad English!
Regards,
You could try and re-align your screen its in start>settings>screen if I remember rightly if you can't do that on your phone, there is some software that allows you to control your phone remotely from your pc, I forget what Its called have a search or maybe someone can point you in the right direction.
indeed it looks like a mis-align.
the remote app is mymobiler!

i am new to pda's so take care with me, i am a real novice!!
any way it keeps frezzing up,
i have tomtom 3 blutooth sat nav, loaded on, which a college has given me!! it works fine but every time i touch the pda it frezzes (plus i dont need to touch it it just does it on its own accord,)
it isnt just when the tomtom is on,
it does it what ever i am doing!!
if you can help, please do!! but remember i may need well detailed info on what to do to rectifi the problem,
thanks bill
Bill, I had a similar problem with my wifes XDA II when I loaded Tomtom software onto it. I did the following and it resolved the problem for me, so you may want to give it a try (assuming you still have the problem).
Tap on Start (on the desktop screen)
Select Settings
Select the system tab at the bottom of the screen
Tap on the memory icon
Select the Running Programs tab
This opens up a window which shows you all the programs which are currently running on your PPC
Select STOP ALL from the options available
This will close all programs running on the system and free up your memory resource, so now go back to the desk top view.
Then start your Tomtom program up again as you would do normally and see if it freezes on you this time.
IMPORTANT ADVISE - You must close Tomtom down from the options within the program which, on my system is a large red EXIT APPLICATION icon found in the Navigator Menu.
Hope this works for you as well as it did for me.
Good luck

8) Go to the windows startup folder and delete connections.exe.
That will free up a lot of resources

whats this do
connections.exe.
Other than connections.exe..
Hey everyone,
I just received my XDA IIs from Hong Kong 3 days ago. Since then, the PDA portion is working great. But the phone keeps locking up. I cannot hear caller and they cannot hear me. I have been soft resetting at least 2 x a day...and missing calls..
is there anything else that we should delete?
Thanks!

There is an inherent problem with the audio on this particular model (Blue Angel)
The problem seems to escalate if you use the Bluetooth Audio.
I experience the problem 2-3 times a week, even with the connections.exe removed from the Windows/Startup Folder.
Hopefully a new release of the Radio/Firmware will cure the problem.

Hey guys. I've noticed that my new XDA2s is horribly slow and unstable in comparison to the XDA2 which it replaced courtesy of my insurance.
Anyway, thought that as its so appaulingly slow, the "close" feature of pocketplus would be brilliant for speeding things up a tad (and hopefully stopping the chronic crashing).
Anyhow, although it works, it seems to make sending text messages... well interesting. They take up to 4 minutes to send IF they send at all.
My friend with a 2s (with imate ROM) also experiences the same problem. Anyone found a way around it? Sorry if this has already had a thread, I'm a bit of a n00b and I dont think I understand the forum search properly lol.
Cheers -Mike
Hiya Mike,
The trick is to not let Pocket Plus close the Messaging program. To do this, go to Pocket Plus options, select the close button options and select the "Exceptions" tab. Add the messaging program (should be "tmail.exe") to the list and this should solve your problem.
Craig.
that sure helps!
cheers!
I can't believe I didn't think of that! Lol. Cheers bud, I'll give it a go when I get back to my docking station
Perfect Thanks for the help.
I've just added Pocket Plus today and within 4hrs, i've soft reset it 3 times. Does anyone know why? I'm using XDA IIs with Pocket Informant and Pocket Breeze. My wireless standby light still flashes green but the Today screen is completely frozen.
Does anyone know why? or maybe offer some insite as to why?
Thank you.. !
Same for me until I stopped playing with SPB Pocket Plus options. Leave them alone and all should be well. I contacted SPB and they said they couldn't replicate the problem but many others on this forum have had problems.
My Xda 2s need resetting about 4 times a day regardless. It likes to freeze when I press the hardware buttons. I reckon if I do 4 different tasks (ie. recieve a call, send a message, listen to a song and open Word for example) I can rely on having to coft reset. Mina does th same as described above. It also likes to not bring up caller ID, or I get calls which connect, but hang up on the other person. I'm really surprised this thing passed trading standards :s
Yeah, yeah, i know, have a lot of it on the forum, but, until now, i didn't find any real answer about it.
Sometimes i read that isn't hardware problem, sometimes i read that is.
Sometimes i read that need to change some keys on registry, but what keys?
The problem is the same of other users: the green and red key, videocall, Windows, Ok, "the left and right software buttons", the IE and Message buttons doesn't work. And the diretional buttons, the first time i press when i turn on the Hermes open the browser.
I don't know what to do anymore. That phone already stayed at the HTC Support for 3 months, and came back with the same problem. BTW, the HTC Support is a @#&ยจ%$$!!!!!
OK, atleast try a different ROM first, ie schaps or pandora naked???
IF it works on the newer ROMs then theres your answer.
Is the device a Tytn, Vario II, 8525 etc..?? ie let us know which brand it is.
I've tried a lot of ROM's, but not the newer ones. I'll try today. I'll try Pandora Naked and Schaps, in this order, and will post the results.
My device is a TyTN.
Tried the both ROM's (Schap's and Pandora) and still have problems with the buttons.
Hardware issue, suggest a 3rd party repair facility??
mrvanx, i've read something about the registry. Changing some keys in the registry i can solve this problem? Is there anyway to be something like that? I think, in a hard reset or a ROM change, the registry goes to the original situation. Therefore, if was a registry problem it'll be solve doing that HR. Am i right?
Like i said, it already stayed on the HTC Support for almost 3 months and they do NOTHING about it.
Anyway, thanx Mrvanx, i think that will be the solution.
Sounds like you're out of luck. I'm using an AT&T 8525 with WM6 and excluding the d-pad, all of the front buttons do not respond. The bug appears to be in the software since I, along with many of the other with this trouble, have attempted the hard reset are able to do so successfully (which requires holding down both of the soft menu buttons under the screen). I have also tried the hardware solution posted by another user and it was not successful with my device. Thanks for the remarks regarding HTC. I'll avoid sending my device to them.
Scg033, good luck. I'm trying to take my friend's TyTN and checking the registry. The seller insists that my problem is not a hardware problem. This is my last chance to try something. I'll try today and will post the results, anyway.
Well, i've tried to look into another TyTN's registry and made mine exacly like that one and... Nothing Happens. Still having problems. I think it's not a software problem.
Hi to all!
I am new on this board. It is great to see a lot of people on one place discussing about our favorite HTCs
I have a problem with virtual keyboard on my p3300.
The problem is when typing, sometimes it happens that it won't write the letter or number which I touched, but instead, it types some other symbol, or sometimes it even deletes the previous letter. It is the same, both in text messaging and in word documents. Please help!
Just to add... It started to happen when I changed it's screen, be cause it was accidentally broken (fell on a rock). The guy who changed it for me said it is probably windows that is f***ed up. I use WM6.
Thanks in advance for every reply I get.
just to update....
I did hardware reset and it changed nothing....
Any ideas maybe?
well i'm not an expert but i think the problem in your secreen or in screen allince.. what i mean that when you touch the screen it recognize the place where you touched it wronge!!
hey buddy, do a screen alignment and tht shud solve your simple problem
Hi All, I was wondering if anyone has run into these issues, I mentioned them in a thread but decided to make a new post. this happens in both roms
1) Is anyone having issues that some contacts in the messaging client (HTC) lose their pix and you see a sim card instead of their photo? If so anyone know how to stop this?
2) Sometimes when hitting send after writing a txt msg, the screen right away goes black where you have to hit the power button to bring the screen back on.
3) Anyone notice that with this rom, the home weather screen is slower then the stock eu 6.5 with 2.1 manila? Seems it has something to do with the clock, because if you slide the clock up and show only the clock in the bar the weather animation plays just as the demo does (Especially the rain and wiper blade). Can someone check to see if the home page possibly has a memory leak or bad coding? And is there a way to change the flip clock easily to not flip or to a different clock on these roms?
4) Anyone notice during a call there is no way to get to the call history from the dial pad or anywhere? if you know please enlighten me.
5)Anyone figure out how to make the htc sms program bump up the writing section instead of it taking its time?
6) I tried using the SDKCert cab, and it seems to me that it messed up my Sea rom install. Anyone know of another way to re-map the keyboard for an ATT Tilt 2?
Any help or guidenance would be greatly appreciated. And any help I can give I will, I have a spare HTC tilt 2 phone and can test anything out. right now trying to figure out why MSVC doesnt read back txt msgs with another senior member. Hopefully we can get this to work I need that!
No one else has these problems?
Okay here is another one, anyone figure out how when you get a txt msg and hit the msg tab it goes to the first msg and not be stuck on the last msg you read on the msg tab?

I am having issues with mine also.....
i am actually having a bit of a hard time with the new HTC 2.5 ROM.
I have read through the threads and it seems other people are having the same problems.
i.e.- sms very slow-
speakerphone bug- once activated the other person cannot hear you, you have to turn off speakerph and turn on again for them to hear you.
I hard reset but still get the same problems.
I think after I try a few more tweaks I will be able to post a good assessment so others will "hopefully" not have to deal with the same problems.
I hard reset to clear everything and then flashed the ROM again. Took care of some problems.
I installed your Volume Settings cab from another post to take care of the low vol prob.
After flashing the ROM the speakerphone is working. ..
1) I have not had a problem with the contacts
2) I am still having this problem with the text msg
3)To fix the Home screen issues- I installed Cookies Home Tab and his editor
4) Haven't noticed the during call problem but will check it out
5) I installed SMS chat cab to help with the text problems and also disabled the HTC msgng. it is still slow but not as slow
6)I used the Tilt 2 Keyboard fix....
