Hello guys, I got a little question...
My computer cannot display the attached pictures properly; when I click on the attachments, a white blank page opens with the text "No input file specified." I tried using FF, Chrome and IE, it's all the same.
Seems like nobody else has this problem... Can you help me?
Thanks in advance!
Try logging out and logging back in? Try clearing your browser cache and cookies?
Already tried clearing them, but unfortunately doesn't work for me... After logging out, still the same.
Can you post the link of the attachment you are trying to view?
It should look something like http://attachments.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=726013&d=1316570603
I'm trying to view the attachments of this post; other people can verify that these are working fine, but I have no clue why my computer can't display them properly.
Update: The attachments redirect me to the link "http://attachments.xda-developers.com/forum/attachment.php...", it seems like the "/forum" part is the problem. When I remove it, the picture is displayed correctly!
Thanks for the info...I've alerted the server admin, and it has now been fixed
Thank you very much, everything is back to normal now!
Please report any bugs here. Mention what browser, browser version, and OS you are using, and also provide steps to recreate the problem.
Also, tell us how to improve the Portal. What new features do you want to see?
Thanks in advance.
I am using Google Chrome 16.0.912.63 beta-m (the latest beta version) on Windows 7. Even after logging off and logging back on, the portal sidebar still asks me to log in to access the widget. I have even tried this in an incognito browser (so that all the cookies are cleared), but it still won't show content after logging in.
At the top right, the Google +1 text isn't a hyperlink, whereas all the other links next to it (FB, twitter, YT) have clickable text. Seems inconsistent.

Yea, same here. it's not even clickable.
EDIT: log out and back in, as it says in the article.
EDIT 2: Nope, still doesn't work.
I think an improvement would be to remove the featured/popular posts thing. This may be me, but it looks a little too much like engadget now.

Links are fixed.
Regarding the widget...try logging out, clearing browser cache, logging in. Once it works, it works. Or so it has been for me.

Google text still not hyperlinked for me.
Tried logging out, wiping cache and logging back in. Widget still doesn't work. This is in Chrome / W7 x64.
Also tried on IE, which I have never used for xda, so it's a fresh start. Logged in, widget still doesn't work.
On IE9, I also get this gap on the right above the ad:
http://i.imgur.com/LypIE.jpg (a little too big to display here)
Another one (sorry )...
The Twitter, Facebook and Google+ links at the bottom of each post on the main portal page are just images. They're not linked to anything.
And when viewing an individual article, Google+ is missing completely from the bottom of the post.
Chrome 16 / Win7 x64 and verified on IE9.

On the main Portal page, clicking on "xx comments" for any of the articles only takes you to the article itself, and doesn't take you directly to the comments section of the article, as it should.

1. same here, and the "log in" on the widget looks like it is supposed to be hyperlink but isnt.
2. and when loading site, when NOT logged in, there used to be a nice message to "non members" to check out and join the "world famous forums" and make sure to check out the "XDA New User Guide" that was written by some A-hole xda member.... oh wait that was me....

this WORKS fine for me on the ones i tried, make sure the link has /#comments BROKEN LINKS (top 2 posts) are /#respond
but tweet/+1/fb arent hyperlinked as posted above,
I get the feeling there are some very inconsistant rendering results.
The first time i logged on all i saw was adverts, there maybe the same number but they where much more in your face and apeared larger, it really did look terrible which might explain some of the comments you've had
I then reset my IE9 settings an i now cant comment on any portal posts, just doesnt let me type any more screen is there, all the buttons etc but it wont physically let me type, very odd. but on the plus side the adverts seem to have shrunk a bit. However there are some large gaps, namely below the widget that also doesnt work
There are 5 adverts on the portal, and although they appear larger and more in your face its not as bad as it was the first time i loaded the website and before i reset my browser, which to be fair, i shouldnt need to do. However when you click on the comments button for the article it brings up the list of comments and comments box (which i cant use) but also a couple of adverts right next to each other, that looks terrible, ill see if i can get a pic
oh, you might want to change the first article in the portal, the one with the pic of the new portal, your looking at the new portal, so you see what the pic is showing, except its like picture in picture, which might be a reason some folk think it looks messy, sounds silly, but youd be surprised how our minds work
oh an finally, will the new buttons frame be consistant through XDA, looks better if the buttons stay the same on all pages.

Yes, they do not work.
I've tried clicking the hyperlinks using Chrome, IE, and Firefox.
Those links are just images.

The widget doesn't work here, either.
Also, I clicked on the "Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab Will Probably Get ICS" article at the top of the page but it is taking me to the HTC unlocked bootloaders article.
EDIT: Could you also space out the links to Forums, XDA TV, WIKI, Device DB, etc? They look a little too cramped.
Google Chrome 16 (with Adblocker installed) and Windows 7 (64 bit).
I think it's too much white, where is the yellow-brown XDA theme.
Same pb widget login/ social button
BTW Maybe the Donation page need a refresh too : http://forum.xda-developers.com/donations.php
Am logged in on the forums, but i cant use the widget ? say i need to login ??

+1 for Donations revamp !
Hey. idk if this info will help much, but i was using the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine on the old Kin.com site, and even though most dates loaded a redirect to the (now non existent and non-archived) kin studio, i did find a copy (albeit with some missing fonts and flash objects) that works. Also, i did a search on google using the site: parameter (site:kin.com) and it pulled up some still active links (theyre all related to the webpage version of the "KIN is finally available!" email {The web copy of the email, the tweet, post to facebook, email, and share to myspace features, images, etc). again, i dont know if this even remotely helps, but still... oh, and i found a "Content Service" csv file using wayback stating "The content service for this site is off",as well as some image files from the source code of the page.
heres some of the links i found:
view.email.kin.com/?j=feef1d70736c0...c7c741272&jb=ffc61d&ju=fe9115767163027874&r=0 (the webpage version of the email)
click.email.kin.com (redirect link. nowhere to redirect, never redirects)
web.archive.org/web/20100417130131/http://www.kin.com/cws/ContentService.svc
web.archive.org/web/20100513005918/http://kin.com/favicon.ico (webpage favicon)
view-source:web.archive.org/web/20100416104749/http://www.kin.com/ (GOOGLE CHROME view source command for the page)
web.archive.org/web/20100416104749/http://www.kin.com/ (site that tries to load a flash object. never loads. may be due to wayback server that hosts the file is down, or the file was never archived)
web.archive.org/web/20100529113540/http://www.kin.com/? (is missing some css to arrange the site it seems. login to kin studio works. after logging in with a Microsoft account, redirects to defunct kin studio page. help partially works.)
I hope this helps! (And if it doesnt, then no harm done, right?)
Hehe. I remember looking through Google's historic cache and the wayback cache for kin.com .. the main thing I was trying to find was the original wallpaper, as once you change it, you can't get back to it.
Sorry up front if this is posted in the wrong location...
I am having a problem, I don't know if its the ROM (FreeGS3) or the way the browsers are configured. I have used Firefox, Default, and Dolphin, I always set them to "Desktop" mode.
Here is my problem, I go to Facebook website and I get a redirected away from what I have discovered to need to be "https" instead it sends me to "http" with gives me an html text page. If I go back up to the web address line and add the "s" in front of the "http" web address it then displays the correct web page as it should.
Can someone please tell me or direct me as to how to fix this???
It is driving me crazy...
Further Clarifications...

To further clarify Facebook requires the secured web address when navigating after log in. Not sure why my browser would not direct me properly execept maybe for this reason...
From Google Development..."Redirects and User-Agent Detection
Automatic redirection
When a website is configured to serve desktop and mobile browsers using different URLs, webmasters may want to automatically redirect users to the URL that best serves them. If your website uses automatic redirection, be sure to treat Googlebot and Googlebot-Mobile just like any other user-agent and redirect them appropriately.
Irrelevant redirects
A common issue is redirecting users to irrelevant pages. For example, if a user visits example.com/article29, your website should redirect them to the equivalent mobile-optimized page, such as m.example.com/article29, instead of to the m.example.com homepage. This makes sure that incoming links and users' bookmarks work across devices."
Can't post link since I've not posted enough.
Hello...anyone there????

I don't mean to be rude but could you be any more vague with that question??? I have no clue what you are referring to or where you are going with that question.
Please feel free to elaborate, it would be appreciated...
There is no login/password box on the site once I logged out . I had to log in with my G+ profile .
Also, it shows the portal layout instead of the old forum layout though.
And I also checked with 3 different laptop/computer .
bump

I have had the same issues for around a day. first I thought it was my freshest cm12 build having problems with cm browser and chrome dev. but Firefox and Google chrome both have the same issue on my pc as my android device. an old cookie on my open-source desktop chrome still works but I don't dare log out or I'm afraid I'll have to associate the evil Google+ with my email to log back in.
So I'm guessing there's an official process to notify someone this is broken? dunno, haven't searched that.
Thought I'd complain openly about the issue instead.
I confirm the bug. I can't log-in with my Windows 7 and Firefox computer.
Fortunately I'm still log in on my other PC.
Hi guys, this should be fixed now, please let me know if you have any further issues logging in.
It's fixed :good:
