Titanium Weather error... - Touch CDMA Windows Mobile ROM Development

Hello - I am using NSFAN's 6.5 ROM. I have used it before without an issue, but when I went back to it about a month or so ago I keep getting an error when the main view tries to update. When I click the Titanium Weather on the main screen I can update the forecasts and current weather, but when I am on say the time the current weather displayed never updates and throws the below error. I found a Titanium Weather weather fix and applied it and it seems to work for one update and then back to the error. I have tried some of the other Titanium Weather updates by Showaco but I have the same issue. Any thoughts or suggestions?

This seems to have done the trick! thank you. I think I will be giving your ROM a spin in the next week or so as well. I really liked the WinMo 7 Project and the fact you have it baked in has me interested...
Thanks again!

Thats my bet.
Hard reset - go to the weather tab and select your city and perform an update to get the current weather info. Then after you have the tab on the slider with current info - install the weather fix - at that point it should all be good.
START/SETTINGS/HOME/ITEMS/
[x] TouchFLO
I tried your solution but no use. Then, I re-flashed NFSFAN's rom, went to the weather tab and selected my city and performed an update to get the current weather info. Then after leaving the tab on the slider with current info - installed the weather fix. Then tried to switch to Touchflow -- not working :-(

[Q] Problems after flashing rooted Gingerbread.

I rooted my EVO and flashed radio 'EVO_Radio_2.15.00.05.02_WiMAX_27243_PRI_2.15_003.zip'
Then I flashed a rooted stock gingerbread/sense ROM 'supersonic_4.22.651.2_deodexed-signed.zip'
Problem 1: I reinstalled a bunch of my apps using Titanium Backup, but none of these apps are showing up in the Market.
Problem 2: I cannot sync Facebook for HTC Sense. Whenever I try to sign in, I keep getting the error "The service is currently unavailable. Do you want to try again?"
I have tried all sorts of things like uninstalling all Facebook for Android updates and even a supposed fix I found in other forums in which you edit your work information on your facebook profile. Nothing seems to work.
Can anyone help?

For the apps not showing up in your market it takes time and a reboot or two. The facebook thing I'm not sure about though, it wouldn't work right for me from day one so I haven't tried to use it in awhile.
Why do people need their apps to show up in the market if they already have them reinstalled with TB??

I just find it helpful to see which apps need updating. It's definitely not essential.
For the apps download a free app from the market and they should show up they did for me.

Normal when flashing a rom. Give it a few reboots and wait a day or so.

I'm sensing a pattern...
Thanks a lot guys. Today was my first experience with flashing. I can see why it's addicting.
I have a different problem after I flashed to the latest Gingerbread ROM, (on my eVO 4G btw). I flashed the latest ROM "gingerbread evo 1.2v", when that finished i flashed "EVO_Radio_2.15.00.05.02_WiMAX_27243_PRI_2.15_003" (was told it should fix any radio issues). then flashed "gapps 5-21-2011 with Voicemail.apk and Gtalk 1.3 with Voice and Video". My EVO restarted fine but now i cant make any calls or recieve any. In fact the status bar at the top isn't even there. When i press the phone icon i get a message saying "Application not installed on your phone". I must be missing a step or something. Any help would be great, thanks.

I read in another forum you sometimes need to re-flash the kernel after flashing new radios. You could try re-flashing the ROM now that you have the updated radios.
just tried flashing the rom after everything else and still same results. Any other suggestions?

I'm new to flashing ROMs personally, but I've also read people recommending to do a clean wipe 2 or 3 times and wipe the dalvik cache as many times before flashing again. I don't know what sort of issues they feel they are preventing by doing that so I don't know how plausible of a solution it is, but if you've got the time it wouldn't hurt to try.
Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in and you won't have to get your advice from a noob. Best of luck.

AccuWeather Widget Issue

Hello, right now I have an issue with my Galaxy Note 3's stock AccuWeather widget being unable to find my current location. I am running on the 5.0 FOB6 firmware with root and the widget was running fine until this morning when it would not update. My location settings are set to high accuracy, and my GPS still works without issue and currently the widget is blank showing the time and the "Tap to add city" phrase. A factory reset did not fix things with the widget nor did clearing the cache and dalvik in TeamWin Recovery fix it. The only way the widget works is if I typed my current city into the search box after the "Location error" box goes away.

Have you recently installed any type of app that requires location services? Also battery saving apps and antivirus apps can cause this problem. They can kill the widgets request for location updates. If you haven't installed anything new like this, then there's one quick thing you can try. Go into your Apps manager and go to the All tab. Find the WeatherDaemon and force stop it and clear the data. Then find the LocationServices and force stop it and clear the data as well. You'll have to reset your location preferences but it may fix the issue.
As far as I remember the only app that I installed that really used location settings heavily was snapchat. Maybe the latest update caused an issue. The only Antivirus app I have is Lookout. Now I'm assuming by the "WeatherDaemon" you mean the Unified daemon. I have cleared the data from it but I don't know which app would be LocationServices.
Yes the Unified daemon is the same thing. They are named different depending on some ROM's. Mine is WeatherDaemon and I have a LocationServices also. Just look for anything under the All tab that says Location and kill it and clear data. It won't hurt anything. You may possibly have to reboot to rebuild the cache, but that about it.

I recently just did as you said by clearing everything that included location in all of my apps and rebooted the phone. The stock accuweather widget still shows up with the cannot find location error. At this point I am either contemplating downloading the firmware via sammobile and doing a fresh install with odin or extracting the weather widget from the stock rom and deleting the widget from my current state.

Yeah an Odin flash would definitely do the trick if it truly is just software. Have you tried downloading the AccuWeather widget from the Play Store to see if it has location issues? Or any other weather widget for that matter. Try that can see if it works correctly.

Hey me either, I'm determined to fix this issue as ever since I bought the phone I haven't had any issues software related from that point all the way up until yesterday morning. Haha. Well I'm going to do the full wipe in recovery, Odin Flash and reroot on the latest firmware which should be N900TUVUFOL1. Afterwards I'll update and see if things have been fixed.

Which drivers do you have? Some of them don't work correctly. The best way to get the ones that definitely work is to install Kies.

That should do the job. I know every once in a while even those don't install the modem driver correctly. Only way to know is install and try. Haha
I too am having the exact same issue you described down to the T . I did all of thee above as well and nothing has been working to fix the problem. The only thing I didn't do was the factory reset, but that was going to be my next step if I couldn't find a solution. I also have the Note 3, the only difference is I am on Sprint. I found this thread through a Google search. I am beginning to think that maybe it's a connection issue between the stock software and Accuweather server maybe? I started having this problem yesterday. I also installed the Accuweather App from the Play Store and that one works fine.

I will really dig into the issue and see if I can find a fix for you guys. It's not just the Note 3 that's having this problem. I've seen people with the Note 4, S4, and S5 talking about it as well.
How weird is this! I just tried refreshing the location again a few minutes ago, and it started working again on its own! So NoteSeriesEnthusiast27 might wanna try again and see if it works for him too?

Bug restoring itself

Hello,
So some weeks ago I tried messing up with Substratum and theming my phone. I installed some themes that where supposed to support oxygen os. One of them did not work that great giving me this white bar quick settings. Tried relocking the phone wiping everything or wiping only themes with substratum's ways and at first everything was back to normal. Apparently after restoring backup with google after relocking the phone gets the problem back even though I was unrooted. So I tried setting it as new and the problem was not there at first again. Though i got back after a day even though I did not choose to restore anything fron the back up. My next move will be to delete all my back ups and then restore it and set it up as new. Any others ways to probably fix this problem? Seems to me like an error in system or data partitions caused by substratum and restoring itself somehow. **i have deleted substratum and the themes from my purchases in playstore and tried installing all the latest versions of oxygen os that came the past month.
Thanks
I think you can live with that, it's such a small visual bug.
It's not a bug, and it happens only on black/dark wallpapers. Try something white and it should be gone

Got an OTA update today...

And it really messed things up. Device not seeing other launchers, and the native launcher is 'stuck' - any modifications I make (icons/screens/widgets/positioning etc) resets after every reboot.
Cleared cache, but no luck.
Help.
And notifications don't show on the top (only when I pull down, and not all)

I made an account just to post here cause I'm having the exact same issues. I've had so many issues and I thought things would be better, but this update completely ruined our phones. Not only is the phone even more dysfunctional now, it's uglier too. The cosmetic updates are gross, the new emojis are gross, AND they added software that's unremovable.

If you guys read my mega thread you will see there is a fix for the launcher customizing resetting there in tge fidst post under the change log.
But i also have a list of bugs i will forward to Nubia once the community have found them all.
For alternate launchers, be sure to set it in the App Info settings > 3-dot menu > default apps > Desktop.

Try doing an in place update of the full rom zip, then clear cache and data of launcher.
During beta test clearing data fixed it for all testers. So its possible the OTA had an additional bug for you
Can confirm on the update the method you described doesn't work (on mine the alternate launchers don't show up in the defaults list for desktop).
@Nyanwiz - I ended up flashing the latest Q stock rom, but would be willing to try your suggestion. Can I just flash the full zip of new R build over it without losing data? And if it doesn't work, can I flash the 10 back?
Or do I need to do through the front end system updates UI?

By any chance do you remember which rom those testers used for their testing? The fix hasn't worked for me, and I was running the US rom
Hi, I also had the same issue where any app icon when dragged onto a home screen would disappear. Tried to force stop the native launcher and restart the device. It worked after a few goes and my old home screens were restored and i am able to add apps onto my home screen. Haven't tried any custom launcher like nova yet. I'm guessing its a bug I was about to submit a ticket before it "fixed itself".
