Hey there.
I'm running Manila 2.5 (don't know if there's anything else you have to know..just ask ) on my HTC HD and I would like to use the build in music player. Windows Media player is working fine, but the standard one seems to have troubles finding the songs. It shows the songs with a length of 0:00. Meaning, it will skip all songs until it reaches the last one and then stop. After a soft reset everything is working fine until I reconnect it to the PC. Even if I don't change anything in the Musik folder.
I organized my songs like this: Storage Card/Music/Artist/Album/Song.mp3
At least most of them.
Anyone with the same problem or a way to solve this?
Thanks guys!

Sorry for the new thread, I've tried posting this question in another thread with no answer. I also (first thing I did) tried searching for my problem all over these forums and the web, with no real findings.
I'm having a huge problem with TF3D's music panel. Everytime I click to play a track, it plays about 3-5 seconds of the track, then just stops. All softkeys still work, and if I try pausing/playing, it repeats. All tracks I've tried. It also doesn't list all the music (all music stored on microSD under same folder). All the songs play fine under WMP on the phone (as well as all other devices obviously). Any help???

Are your files on the microSD card (I'm assuming so, just want to verify). What type of files are they (.wma .mp3 .aac etc) maybe we can narrow this down. I'm recently liberated from iTunes, so a lot of my files are in aac (drm-free) format, so maybe I have to convert straight to mp3????
Sounds very strange, I think the reason not many people have replied is that they dont experience this issue.
I have played music on my unbranded TP2 with the stock rom and then many custom roms all without any problem.
Sorry I know that doesnt help you...
I am playing mp3's from the memory card.
Have you tried to copy the file to the internal memory and play it from there? Perhaps you memorycard is too slow?

yeah they are on my micro sd. they are mp3 i would post a ringtone but i only have spanish music lol
The issue I'm having is that not all my mp3's (which are all in the same directory on the SD card) are showing up, only about 15 of the 50 mp3's I have show.
Everything shows fine in the Windows Media Player though. Just not the TF3D interface
I'm starting to think it may be the fact that my music is AAC format....ugh...that's just way too much converting.......

i wish i really knew what's going on there. i have 140 mp3 songs and it shows them all :/ the only thing that sucks for me is that it's displaying the same album cover for all artist.

Funny, I get the different album covers for different artists!
Anyhow, I'm going to delete all the SD card files, and edit the various ID tags and see if thats the issue. I think it may be that they are being read incorrectly.
I had this issue when using the Leo build from NRG, only played a few seconds of song for me and sometimes it would just freeze and not play anything. Im using Photon now and all music plays fine
Hi:
I have all my music stored on SD card. I sync it with Windows Media Player. All songs appear normally in Windows Media Player and when I use Files Explorer on Tilt 2 to view the songs on SD card.
My problem is, when I use the music player in TF3D, and look at library/songs, many songs appear twice. The really odd part is that a song may appear once with album art (which all my songs have), and a second instance with no album art.
When I play songs on the music tab in TF3D both instances of the song play. What I mean is, sometimes a song will show with album art, and sometimes the one without album art shows. The same is true if I edit a song title etc through Windows Media Player (I believe it is version 11). A song will show as the pre-edited version sometimes, other times it shows the edited version.
Any ideas? This is really driving me nuts.
Thanks!
I have a similar problem - but possibly the opposite to yours.
I have approx. 15Gb of music on the MicroSD on my TP2, and regularly use Windows Media Player to sync new music to the phone. However, Windows Media Player appears to sync ALL the music BACK to the PC as well - meaning I have each song duplicated on the PC (sometimes many times), which is rapidly filling up my hard drive unless I periodically manually delete all duplicates (which is painful).
I'm sure there must be a setting within Windows Media Player to stop this happening - but I still want to be able to sync music TO the phone (just not back).
Has anyone else encountered this issue or know a solution?
Hi,
I hope I'm posting this in the right section.
I have a problem with HTC Music player not showing some artworks (which are directly saved in mp3). I already tried 3 (Cubed) player as well and it has the same issue.
I also tried updating the artwork several times just to make sure Desire would recognize the change but no luck. The phone does not refresh the id3tag at all. Winamp and WMP on my desktop show the artwork correctly.
Does anyone else experience something similar?
Well, it seems that deleting the folder albumthumbs from SDcard solved this issue.
Although it does not explain why the phone is unable to refresh the id3 tags even when the affected songs are deleted and copied back again.
Oh well
Have you tried to use the app called SDrescan?
I have never been able to get my music tab functioning correctly on my device. Whenever I try to play a music file, it will play for about 1-2 minutes and then it just stops playing. It usually seems to happen around 1:45. It isn't just that it loses sound, the time stops counting up and everything. The only way to get it to start playing again is to actually stop the playback and start it over again. The problem only occurs when I try
to use the music tab. WMP, TCPMP, MortPlayer, etc are all fine.
This issue has gone on pretty much since I got my phone last year. I believe that at one time in the past it DID seem to get resolved but I have no idea what was different or what ROM I was running at the time.
Preventing the phone from turning the screen off (my first thought) does not appear to extend the time before it stops. Having the phone plugged in also has no effect. It happens using BT audio as well as the phone's speakers. This issue has persisted across multiple ROM versions and cooks. I have been running mostly EnergyROM lately but have also encountered it with Valkyrie and others.
If anyone has any good ideas on how to fix this I would be grateful. It has gotten to the point that I just ignore the music tab entirely if I don't actively remove it from Sense, but it would be nice to be able to use it.
I'm assuming you're playing your music off of the SD card? Does it behave the same when you play files from the onboard memory?
same here and yeah im running it off the SD card. help please
I too am having the exact same problem.
I have had the problem, but I found out that Opera was also always open when this happens, and I just assumed that the system was running out of memory, so I just play music when Im doing NOTHING else when using the Sense player, but the Alternative is to just use WMplayer or TCMP or Nitrogen
well sense the new cht has the music player on the homescreen i find it very nice and usefull and wmp does take up any memory while the htc sense doesnt..so yeah =/
Hello!
Since a couple days, i bought a HOX. Since I switched from iOS, and this is my first android device, i'm sorry of what might sound like 'stupid' questions.
I transferred some music to my phone from iTunes (mac). All my music have cover art (burned in). The first day's, the standard music app shows all my cover art just fine. But when I connect my phone back to my pc, and disconnect it again, half of the album art is disappeared.
Also, there is one particular song, sometimes (not always) when I listen to it, the music starts to fast forward and it's like the app has gone mad. The weird thing is, it's not a faulty mp3, my other devices play it without any problems.. i also tried to re copy the album.. It doesn't help..
I allready googled the problems.. But i didn't find a solution..
(Sorry for my very bad English!)
Thanks in advance
I've got the issue with album art as well particular for singles rather than albums.
I don't bother using the stock player so just use Power Amp instead, top notch player.
Thanks for the advice mate
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I think I found a solution for the album cover art problem... I use iTuneMyWalkman to sync my music to my HOX. I looked at the albums that wouldn't show their album art, and most of them are the ones who are found in 2 or 3 sub maps 'deeper' than the artist map.. Maybe that's causing the issue! iTMW arranges all your music in his own way (he will put all the music from the same album, in the same folder (unlike iTunes, what can cause a lot of trouble in the stock music player). You can select that he only can use/create 1 subfolder..
So, i did this, and it seems to work (for now.. I will check if the album art doesn't disappear like last time after a few reboots!)
Anyone that knows what can cause the sudden music fast forwarding? I use external headphones (Sennheiser HD25). I read about this issue, but it was from a HTC HD. There was some contact from the plug and the case itself.. But the One X has a 'plastic' cover.. So that shouldnt be a problem I guess? =s
Thanks in advance!
