Hello!I'm new to this whole phone-hacking thing(which interests me now as I have a spare Diamond now that I bought the Hero) and have no clue or idea of how things work...
Now...I want to install WM6.5 on my Diamond but if possible with TouchFlo 3D(or Sense,whatever it comes with).I have downloaded a ROM but I don't think it suits my phone(don't ask which or from where,I don't remember) but even if it does I don't know how to install it.
Given the circumstances,with the first try I make to install it I will get a dead Diamond!So can anyone please help me?First of all I need instructions on how to install ROMs not downloaded from HTC and second I need some links with downloadable ROMs.

I'm very new to the world of cooking or flashing roms etc. I appreciate this will be quite boring to most of you, but I was hoping someone could help me understand the basics. I'm from the UK and have just brought a HTC Touch Diamond on Orange network which I am very happy with. I am however keen on the idea of trying a new, potentially faster ROM. I currently have 1.37.405.1WWE. I have read a lot of good things about Manila and some others on here (elite) but I'm unsure whether to try one or not. My first question is how hard or easy is it to install a new ROM and what could go wrong? Could a newbie potentially ruin my new phone? Can I re-install the old ROM if I don't like the new one? I have read a lot about people doing manual changes etc , but I don't know any coding. Do I need to? I have searched the forum, but couldn't find any answers to such basic questions. Please could someone help me?!?!?

It is not very hard to flash your phone with the ROM of your choice and usually it's quite safe as long as you follow the recommended procedure. Installing HardSPL is the first step which will ensure that a cooked ROM will not "brick" your phone. This is flashed as per the normal flashing procedure. Following this, you can choose the ROM you fancy ( I use Bepe's and I am very happy with it) and flash, again using the same procedure. The cooked ROMS are much faster than the stock ROM and usually very stable. Bepe produces 2 version of his ROM, Basic and Premium, whose major difference is that Basic does not include TF3D. Finally you can also flash a Radio ROM if for whatever reason you are not happy with the connectivity features and stability provided by your current ROM.
No coding required to do any of the above.

I reckon the "flashing" part of your question has been answered.
Regarding the "cooking" part, what can I say... You won't learn till you do it yourself.
There are a few excellent guides out there (you can start with the xda-dev wiki)
And remember - search is your best friend. Both questions could have been answered if you'd have searched the forum.

no its not...topaz or touch pro 2 has keyboard and touch hd does not...htc device with no keyboard rom is not compatible with htc with keyboard
only flash rom thats intended for your device...in the touch pro 2 rom section u cant go to another phone rom section and use that to flash u just asking for a very nice paper weight...you can use cabs though from htc hd to change your icons...goodluck make sure u read first before trying anything

Fortunately since HSPL is not out yet, no one would be able to flash anything to their Rhodium (par a stock Rom) anyway.
We are having a lot of new users joining the Rhodium forum.
Please all read the Wiki and do some research before posting.
The forum is allready becoming very busy, and a lot of the new threads that are being opened are by "new" users to the site who could get the answers / knowledge they require if they read the threads and mod notes at the top of the forum.
Not trying to flame anyone, but if we can keep the silly questions to a minimum, it will help us all.

i was trying to check any post regarding this issue but i dont find anyone with the answer that i need.
I have a Diamond, bought in Expansys, but in HTC website i can only update with HKE rooms.
So, a question (maybe a silly one but i dont know), can i install a WWE room in my diamond (one of this in XDA)?

Many people will tell you to use the search button, anyways you need to install hardspl and custom diamond RUU in order to install most of the roms in this forum. They are on the stickys.

quite a newbie as well. but you just have to read the forum. in the ROM development of your device you see that the HardSpl is not yet done. This one is needed if you want to flash cooked ROMs.
There's also plenty of threads about flashing ROMs and everything is explained properly.

Hello, I need an English ROM for my HTC Touch diamond (unlocked) that is like the original one and is stable with complete instructions. I am new at this. My radio version is 1.09.25.23 so if i need to update this please provide the additional instructions. Thank you in advance.
